Hey guys, I'm sorry but I've been real busy lately and haven't been on the board to discuss much or post the new spoilers.

But I do know that it's the end of the month and everyone is anticipating the new chapter! I've tried to nudge the mods into creating the Chapter 84 thread today.

Here are some of the Chapter 84 spoilers that have been around for a couple days now. I don't believe anything has been confirmed yet.

Those spoilers both seem fake. Now I'm getting a headache from trying to understand the crummy translations that google and yahoo provide.

Ok of these spoilers there isent much to really belive. The one with Pricilla having arrived at Riful's hidout.. somehow i find that one unlikly but not impossible. If Pricilla sensed Rune being captured soon after being spoken to Raki might want to do something, Pricilla seams quite "obedient" there so not impossible but stil unlikly. The other is a little to messed up for me to really crasp but Rubel having information on Pricilla.. unlikly. information on Raki, far from impossible. But that wouldent be much of a bargining chip for Rubel when Clare is as she is now. No the more likly situation would be something like this:

Rubel informs about Rune meeting Raki in "some village" along with a little girl. The report comes from villager's in that town, Rune said nothing but Raki where already done when they got there. Rune might now his current locations, but she is currently most likly a captive of Riful. Something like this would make Clare a bit "edgy" getting fresh live information about Raki from one that has spoken to him would intrest her greatly. And Clare having been to Riful's lair before is an advantage to her. And this could make her consider trying to sneak in on a rescue mission, which again leads to more and a likly rematch atlest vs Duph, and more scenes with "Raciella"

So far, I think there are fair odds of it being real. That and I had a strong feeling since I finished reading the last chapter that Louvre would rope Clare into a joint mission with the Org.

I think that Raki being killed by Prissy would of had meaning when he was still young and weak. (make us hate Prissy more ) But now that he is strong (enough to kill a yoma) his death can't happen till we know what happened to him in the last 7 years.

I think they're fake or not entirely true. I can understand about Clare exchanges information with Rubel. But I don't know the reason why Prissy & Raki go to Riful's castle. Why do they have to go there? Help Renee? That's not making any sense. Raki can't sense Yoki. So Prissy must inform him that Renee was captured. But why did she do that? She didn't like Renee because Renee bullied Raki. And their main objective is to find Clare not helping some random people whom they just met.

Or they have another reasons which I can't really think of. :uhoh:

Anyhow, since it's a short spoiler I can forgive 'em for not dishing out all the details. The other reason why I'm inclined to buy the spoiler is because the spoiler kinda just feels like something Yagi would do.

BTW, with the new translation, my skepticism goes up a bit since I'm not sure how Louvre would keep up with Clare's group's speed.

It means nothing. The katakana reads "BARE" but it doesn't mean anything. It's probably some name, maybe the name of the town. I just decided to transliterate it (somewhat erroneously, since the proper romanization is "bare") as Barre.

NOTE: I updated the translation again. Apparently Cynthia's name is written with the exact same katakana as the word "sincere," so that had me confused.

What if we translate it this way?

The four people who rushed the castle would be Clare, Yuma, Cynthia, and Rubel.

Priscilla and Raki are inside the castle. If Priscilla is within the castle and while she's in it, she feels an ominous yoki, that last sentence would technically still be correct, and it could mean that Priscilla senses Teresa's Yoki in Clare.

The power gaps in Claymore are usually huge. I think a weakened Priscilla is still much more powerful than Riful. Somehow I think Riful would've been keeping tabs on Pris.

I haven't come across any other spoilers so far, but I'll do a sweep again later when I wake up to see if anything new has come out. The second spoiler is the one being most talked about, but no confirmation.

The Chinese scanlations should probably be out tomorrow or the day after tomorrow (if things go like how they have been within the past 5 months), so we should have confirmation of the real spoiler by early tomorrow.

The thing I dislike about the second spoiler is that everything seems to be leading to a conclusion a little too quickly -- Claire, Riful, Raki and Pris all at the same place. It has a sense of finality to it -- the possibility of being rushed. I prefer the more predictable route of Claire facing off with Riful, before she ever gets to Raki.

Also isn't there a little matter of distance involved here? Wouldn't Raki and Pris have to rush to Riful's lair? It all seems rather unlikely when thinking about it in that perspective to me.

Furthermore, now that I think of it, it would make the Raki chapter rather pointless if our dread wearing Claymore doesn't keep her promise.

I think the real hole is how Clare's group can move fast with Louvre because he should be going at human speed. :confused: Now, Raki and Priscilla winding up at Riful's castle is also a hole, but, you know, that can be explained away because Raki is following Clare's trail. :)

Anyways, with Clare questing Raki, Raki questing Clare, and Priscilla tagging along Raki, I think it's pretty clear that all three of them are going to meet each other VERY soon. Priscilla has been demoted from "the big bad" for a while now... :P

I believe that Raki was in South/Central Tolouse while Riful's hideout is in West Tolouse and NOT Lautrec. Going from South (or Central) Tolouse to West Tolouse shouldn't be really too far in distance.

The Organization split up Tolouse to make it easier to identify with the split between the AOs and the Org. So really, it is very possible that the Witch's Maw is in Western Tolouse, and that the Organization labeled that area as West (Western Tolouse combined with Lautrec) to make it easier to distinguish for them.

I'm not exactly sure on exact placement, but from the information that we have so far, it seems like the most fitting answer as of right now.

It may be possible that Clare and Raki traveled to Lautrec on their journey together 7 years ago, and which is why Clare, Cynthia, and Yuma crossed into Lautrec now, but Clare was never stationed in Lautrec. She was stationed in the area of Tolouse as a Claymore.

It's about right timing wise. The Chinese scanlations usually come out about the 1st or 2nd of the month. Most of the times it's the 2nd.

We go over this almost every month, but I think one of them actually does, although I am not sure. Usually it seems like almost every single English scanlation group that does Claymore gets the raws from this one particular source. And that source may be an insider at a Chinese site that has access to the raws? But his raws come out a day or two after the Chinese scanlations are released (he was MIA or missing in action last month which is the reason why it took so long for the English scanlation. Finally someone else scanned it and released it, but that wasn't until after the release date of the magazine).

This is just from my observation and deduction, so I really am not sure and may be possibly wrong on it.


Also, why would they even care to put out the raws for everyone? They don't know us, they probably don't even think of the American/European Claymore fanbase. We probably don't even enter their thoughts. They are Chinese Claymore fans, so they are looking out for the other Chinese Claymore fans.

I don't know. Why don't you go to one of their websites and ask? Just say, "ACKNOWLEDGE ME!! SHARE WITH ME!!". Otherwise they don't know who you are, just like you don't know who they are. :heh:

*Shrug*, at least the raws are released exactly around the actual magazine release date. Besides Claymore and Rosario + Vampire, almost all the other stories from Jump Square are released days, even weeks into the month even though they are all from the exact same magazine.

Some chapters from stories in Jump Square that came out September 4th (the exact same issue that Claymore Chapter 83 came out in) are only just now coming out with English scanlations. And it's already October. Imagine getting Chapter 83 now, even though it released a month ago.

Scanning and cleaning, and then translating, editing, etc. is a LOT of hard work. That's why you have to appreciate the groups that do it well. They aren't making money off of it, they are doing it because they are large fans of the story.

There could be legal ramifications as well. Who knows with China's weird regulations, especially with a foreign product like a comic book. While a Chinese scanlation might alter the work enough (intended for a Chinese audience and not the Japanese or American audience which has licensing issues) that it barely squeezes by, the full blown raw circulating around before the magazine's official release would really cause problems. Especially with Yagi and Shueisha (the parent company).

Who knows.

You have a point there. It looks like it's the decision of the CN scanlators more than anything else, really. It's also possible that maybe they're just doing it so that they're known as THE CN scanlators for Claymore because nobody else can do it yet ('cause nobody else has the raws yet).

My English is probably the worst among fellow forum readers and having said that, this is what I gained from the Crappy English translation. To summorize it,

Rubel tells Clare that Renee is missing and tells Clare what she was looking for prior to abduction by Riful.

Meanwhile, Renee's attempt to sync her yoki with fused twins fails due to lack of focus. So she asks Riful to allow her to regenerate her limbs. Riful threaten Renee but reluctantly allows it. While regenerating(?) she seek an opening to escape from Riful.

Rubel admits that he is the one who was informant of Miria and reveals about Organization. Meanwhile, one of the knocked out warrior awakes( I'm not so sure about this part).

As you can see, I could be wrong with understanding google translation. In any case, I hope this helps a tiny bit.

When Raphaela caught up to Irene after Clare left, Irene said she felt Raphaela coming about four days ago. Well to be precise, the DoDs/Descendants of Dragons are not exactly the Organization's enemies themselves. They are used by or allied with the Organization's enemies. Much like how the Organization uses Awakened Beings.

The Organization's enemies are humanoid creatures much like the MiBs.

We don't know much about the DoDs really. They might have a humanoid form too. We'll find out later on it seems.

Scene changed back to Rubel and Clare gang, Rubel reveals his truth idenitity: a spy from the organization's enemy, he is also the "inside informer" of Miria. He is trying to make the organization collapse from inside without letting people suspect it is the work of a spy. He sent fab 4 to the slasher AB to hide the facts about half awake warrior from the org(because half awake = stronger warrior = good news for org). He also told Miria the informations about the outside world hoping she would turn on the org right away and gets killed.

The scene ends with Clare saying :"he is only telling us the information because he knows we can't defeat Riful and wants all the half awake to die in Riful's hand."

I wonder though, Lucielia is most likley dead and its Raphaela's mind that is merged with whatever is left of Lucielia's. So if they awaken I think it would just be a really powerful Raphaela wondering what the hell is going on. Plus after Lucielia died and Raphaela merged with her, it is probably Raphaela's body that is keeping Lucielia's body still alive. Kind of hard to explaing but I'm basically saying that Lucielia's soul is gone and Raphaela is the only thing that is keeping Lucielia's body alive. Either way I think its really just Raphaela, like Raphaela's soul is probably just in both bodies now.

Raphaela may have kept Luciela's soul inside of her all these years. It is part of the 'soul link' process, so it is possible that Raphaela is trying to bring Luciela all the way back.

That being said, it seems Raphaela warned Rene to stay away or suffer the consequence and her/their true power remains hidden from Riful. Would be funny if Clare and the gang 'stole' Raph/Luciela from Riful while rescuing Rene. Just hide them at Irene's old digs...doubt the gang would endanger Rabona by bring them there, but who knows. The sisters could awaken at any time and Riful will have her hands full. It all depends on Raphaela's human will power to control the awakening while retaining her (and Luciela's) human side. I just thought about something. Things aren't looking too good for the people who want Irene to still be alive. I think Rubel had Rafaela take out Irene to get rid of any evidence of Clare's half awakening. If the org knew that Clare has increased in power to survive a former #4, it would have them investigating. Also, her being on an AB hunt with just Ophelia could have been his doing, and not the org's.

A month later Miria and Ophelia at the orders of a MiB are send to kill an AB who turn to be Hilda.Miria was nr 8 so the guy most likely wasn't Ermita (don't look like him).Most likely Ophelia asked to join because she want to kill AB and thus Ermita didn't get involved.Still Ophelia's handler was Ermita not that guy who most likely was in charge of ranks 7-9/10.So is logic to assume she report to Ermita.Rubel didn't show neither with Miria or Ophelia all the manga.

I think that Extra Scene 2 show that Ermita is very good at appreciating how strong a claymore really is.His analize of Miria's abilities was flawless.

I think he got suspicious about Miria after the slashers when she and her team defeated that "special" AB and even more after Galatea lied.Note that he know the range to what extend Miria can begin to sense Galatea and he and Galatea were out of range ("Any closer and they will notice you" - Ermita to Galatea).I don't think that was a simple guess\most likely his experience with claymores told him so.I think Ermita know his claymores very well and i don't think is neither supid or can be easily fooled.If Rubel arranged that hunt (slashers) most likely Emita got suspicious and called for Galatea.This can explain why Galatea was there.Even she was a little surprised about her mission - to spy on a AB hunt group ("What is this about?" - Galatea to Ermita).

;) BTW, for those of you who see a possible plot hole with Ophelia reporting to Rubel about the Half Awakening instead of her own handler, it is simple to explain. There seems to be only one MiB overseeing an AB hunt from what we have seen so far. Rubel could have been in charge of that particular hunt. :) I guess it would take some verifying with the extra chapter.

It wouldn't have to be Ophelia, there were 2 others that witnessed Miria going over her limit and one of them might have been one of Rubel's charges and spilled the beans. Or Rubel witnessed the event himself...he seems to show up at or after certain events that interest him (Clare passing the final training exam, finds Rafaela, confronts Clare and Jean just after the Witches Maw event, Alicia and Beth taking on the AB army, etc etc). The guy seems like he's everywhere...lol.

I think this can be led to another suspicious that Ermita may be another spy. If it's true then it's very make sense why Fab4 had been arranged to fight AB in Slasher. Why Ermita went there to investigate with Galatea. And why Clare had been paired with Ophelia to fight AB in Endless Grave Stone.

It's hard to believe that Rubel has managed to cover all traces of half-awakening for all these years, unless he has the power to erase other people's memories like The Haitian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Haitian). It doesn't make sense.

And it seems one of my theories may be confirmed: Aligning your yoki with someone else lets that other person sense you, it's an active effect. If Raciella sensed Renee when Renee tried to gauge Raciella's real power level, it explains how Riful sensed Alicia when Alicia was trying to do the same thing. And if Riful is unable to sense the true extent of Raciella's power (and if she still expects Raciella is weaker than her), she isn't actually gifted at sensing after all. According to this new information, we can also say that Riful couldn't sense Priscilla's real strength as well. People were so sure she did. :)

Yes. That's what I'm thinking too. If Rubel did that alone and the org didn't know this then why Ermita went to investigate them. That's why I think Ermita is also a apy and working with Rubel. Miria also said that the information she received from the org was wrong. Who did give this wrong information to Miria? That should be her handler. This implies that Miria may be the first half awakened being that we are aware of. This also implies that Helen and Deneve half awakened at a later time.

We also don't yet know how long Rubel has stayed with the org nor do we have an idea of the org's experiments with awakening. Umm... I think the exact time that Rubel hid this info wasn't more than 1 or 2 years. The time frame should be when Miria started being half awaken until the war in the north. That period may not even more than a year. After that they were labeled as death.

But I think it's still hard to believe that he could do all these by himself. He had too much authority for a spy. That's why I think there may be more spy other than him. Or else he might had worked in the org for a long time.

In slasher I, Ermita was the one who arranged the team. So I think that he also gave wrong info to Miria. After that he went to investigate Miria's team and he knew the true identity of AB. It means he knew that this operation was a suicide mission. The question is he did it because the org ordered or he was another spy? :eyespin:

It is quite possible that the Org knew about half awakenings before Rubel -- the puppet master is a puppet himself. It really does seam like Ermita knows about Half Awakenings. Rubel has contact with two of Ermita's warriors. It's the link between Rubel and Ermita that is hard to ignore. Ermita also has a lot of screen time.

Either way, last month the chinese translation did turn out to be noticeably different from the actual Japanese raws to make a major difference to the story. So lets wait and see the translation from Japanese to English.

So Rubel approaches Claymores that have unmatched potential to solve the organizations problems and talks to them to make sure they don't reveal their power and or gets them killed. Chances that Rubel talked Teresa into hiding her powers or about her powers just went up over 9000.

Also, this might mean that Rubel himself was the one who talked to the 6 armed AB :D. Someone informed the AB something was up and told him about the current generation. The next question is why Galatea and Ermita (I think it was Ermita) was there. Did Rubel manipulate standard operating procedure for getting rid of troubled Claymores to get rid of the fab 4?

And immense youki can be trapped inside of the conciousness of two beings who have merged together to the point that it almost cannot be sensed. Chances that this is foreshadowing Clare & Teresa are very good in my mind. Now the real question I have is, "Why did Rubel work to get Clare into the organization as a new experiment based off of Teresa?" This is a big deal, and if the organization knew about her real abilities they would be blown away. Rubel was the man who got her going. What was his agenda? What did he want to see from Clare?

If he was really dissatisfied with Clare's potential, why not just let Rafeala cut her head off some time back, he'd be more than justified.

Even if Rubel's main quest is to destroy the Org, he is jerk enough to "play a little" with someone else's life along the way... in this case, Clare's life.

If i remember well, she was "interesting" to him... the only girl to enter the Org by her own will to become a warrior, and using the flesh and blood of strongest warrior of the story, no less.

She became the weakest warrior, and still don't acts like one and keeps surviving dangerous missions. She acts as a cold warrior, yet she became protective of an orphan boy.

After that she became one of the rare half-awaked warriors, became far stronger to someone from her kind and keeps surviving against impossible odds.

Rubel already tried to "break his toys" many times, yet they keep surviving. I think he is surprised and interested.

By the way, it's interesting to note Half-awaked ones look to be really rare. If i remember well, probably all single-digit warriors are told about the A.O.s and abissals, yet Ophelia didn't know Miria half-awaked at that time. Otherwise, she would have killed her right away because of her obsession for A.O.s. Apparently she just thought Miria controled her youki flow.

I know it's rather too early to make prediction regarding the chapter 85 but since I know the storyline of chapter 84 I just couldn't resist it. Here it goes,

1. I have a feeling that the main focus of chapter 85 will be on Helen and Devene's plot. Yagi might do this in order to introduce another plot, at the same time making the story more intense.

2. Awakening of twins weren't happen in chapter 85. Having said that, I think it will happen in chapter 86. Either way, I think some pages of runee and riful will be shown in chapter 85.


Btw, I hope when twins are awaken, they don't awaken as what they are at present time i.e 4 legs and 4 arms and two heads. it would be much nicer to have just 4 rimbs and 1 head.

There arent anymore groups out there left. And i doubt any new groupings will emerge from now on. There aint that many chapter's left. Each arc takes about 10 Chapter's, here we have a general take that each one of the groups above gets about 20 Chapter's worth. Little less because the Raki element and some other side quests will take some of the time. Riful battle is the likly one to come next. Then Raki Reunion possible "first" Pricilla fight. Then some chapter's of irritation and annoyance then the Org is on list. Clare wont give up on Pricilla most likly yet, its to much of a drive force for her.
