Welcome to Lucky Star FanFiction Discussion thread.

This thread is meant for Lucky Star fanfiction and its discussion. Fanfiction works can be either posted in this thread or in the Fan Creations Forum (http://forums.animesuki.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14) and linked to in this thread. You may also link to Fanfiction works posted on other sites and discuss it here.

General rules of our forum (http://forums.animesuki.com/faq.php?faq=rules) still apply:

No sexually explicit material. Yes, this goes for text format as well.
Be polite to your fellow forum members
Have fun, but post intelligently

Please respect the authors, fanfictions are written in their free time, they have have no gain and owe you nothing; if they a like a particular character and/or a particular pattern for their story, it's a personal choice and can't be blamed. In general, you are free to post constructive criticisms but not insults which (as in any other part of the forums) won't be tolerated. Remember that writers post here to get help and not to get troubles.

Thanks and have fun :)

Thanks a bunch for starting up this board.

Like I've said, Lucky Star is one of those series that does not have a definite ending yet the source material is large/untapped and the popularity is immense. It has nowhere to go but up as things stand.

Now, there's no reason to feel really intimidated by it's size either. There's about 150 fics/one-shots at Fanfiction.net at the moment, which is pretty good. It's not too small to lose hope but not too large to be over-run by insanity. From personal experience as well, the community is quite tightly knit together, so writing an accomdating story will help. I've talked to about 10 or so other authors and many of them are welcoming to critique or praise. The key is simply not to isolate yourself.

On the topic of actual fics themselves, there are few general topics to work with. Since this is an all-girl cast so yuri is imminent. Everyone knows this already, but you'll expect to see a lot here. Mostly Konata/Kagami stuff, but most of it is good for the most part. When it comes to pairings popularity it's them, then Minami/Yutaka, then Misao/Ayano. Though that doesn't exclude irregular pairings. One of the best ones I've ever read does Hiyori/Kagami out of all things.

Original Characters are more rare than I anticipated, but they do exist. The "Insert-Male" is the most common form there is. However, the route is kind of taboo. It seems that a core-audience likes this stuff, not like a normal yuri or parodies that everyone will try. Since I particularly use that and I own the largest story on the subject, the key is simple to have a fic in this category. Make your character likeable and not boring. He/She doesn't have to be perfect, but they should be able to strike a conversation with someone. Oddly enough though, it surprises me no one has tried doing this with a girl, and having them fall for someone in the cast. /shrug Guess there are just too many to choose from.

There's a good amount though of lulzy or romantic one-shots. Most people stick to the core element of the show. If you want Sci-Fi or Dramatic or Insane stories, they are there but are in limited quality. I just hope that clears up anything for anyone.

If any new writers would like to try anything in this series, I will be happy to read over them for you. I strongly urge everyone though to be honest. If too many people run around thinking what they write is perfect, problems can arise. Not to mention, it would be nice if we got more of a review than: "It was good, write more." Stuff like that leaves us in suspense because we don't know what we did good or bad or if any scene was particularly fun.

Hope this was worth the read for you guys. ^_^

Hmm...sounds interesting. Can I as a fan writter have my own setting? Example Lucky Alien World lol :heh: and something parallel to the L.S.

Might be a little difficult. Slice-of-Life shows are very dependant on the setting, especially with the way the Japanese High School works. I think an alien world would work as long as you keep the characters and interctions in tact.

Ah, it's great to see this board here. ^^

I agree that Lucky Star was a series that left itself very open to fanfiction. It was a show about everyday life, so it's great for casual writing. It's also been great for yuri (which I'm naturally a fan of). I love the influx of Konata/Kagami stories, and I gotta admit that one Hiyori/Kagami story is pretty good.

Original characters are hard to do well. A lot of writers don't seem to put very much love into them. I kinda lose hope for them as decent characters when I see they've been created just to be paired off with one of the canon characters. How much personality and likability can you really put into a character you created just to be someone's boyfriend/girlfriend? I think that the best OC's come from writers who want to make a character for the character's own sake, rather than the sake of a plot device. That's my stance.

Since Lucky Star is a very Japanese show, one of the things that I found the most challenging about writing was trying to remain true to Japanese culture. I would research and read into every aspect I was insecure about, until I felt like a loser and stopped. :P But I really think that it helps to make a story feel like an actual episode if you know the most you can about what you're writing about. Has anyone else here had a hard time researching cultural or language stuff in general?

Should those of us who are writers start with an intro and post a link to a fic maybe?

It'd be damn fun if we do a chain story, each of us doing exactly one chapter. There will be no rules as to where the fic goes, except perhaps no original characters are allowed and all significant out-of-character twists need to be voted upon.

Hey, I like that idea. :D

I support it to. But how do we think of an icebreaker or general topic to start it on?

And if we really want to get things moving, I say we talk about what fics we write (or are planning to write) and what ones we would recommend to others.

I'll introduce myself as a writer then. :P

My ff.net name is weluvgirlswithglasses (get it?) I actually collaborate my fics with my fiance, because she writes Konata so fabulously. We write mostly...er... almost all yuri. >.>; All Konata/Kagami. I love writing for Kagami and we both enjoy writing back and forth and playing on their unique interactions and such. And we're fangirls. :P

My most popular story is "Level Up! Love!". I tend to have really long chapters, so I'll spare everyone the obnoxious textwall and just post a link to it at ff.net.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4219558/1/Level_Up_Love

If anyone goes and reads it, I'd love to hear what you think. Keeping in-character is (supposedly) one of mine and my partner's biggest strong-points, and it's definitely what's most important to me as a fanfic writer. I really like getting feedback.... honest, wordy feedback is my favorite kind. As Nuke said, if you like it, I am happiest when you tell me why. :)

About this potential chain story.... how would we set that up?

I wanted it to be like in the PS2 game where anything can happen, like Konata being an E.T. lol no kidding. :heh: Oh well...better think of a more slice of life storyline.

I will distance from angsty storylines, but I've noticed that the roster on FF.net has been...a little too happy. Somebody's got to have thought of how Konata deals socially in the big picture with being an otaku (because at least in the imaginary worlds of anime and manga, bullying looks pretty brutal).

It could go several ways, either she is actually having a big problem with it and depend on her friends so she doesn't break down (but we don't see it because this is a happy anime), or she simply was too damn weird to pick on. But that wouldn't be story-worthy now, would it?

Nukerjsr

I guess I shall introduce myself too, since I suggested the idea.

My username here matches the one I have at ff.net. Nukerjsr. (People screw this up all the time, lol) Anyway, I've been writing my fic since Janurary of 2008 and it's definitely my proudest work so far. It's an "Insert Male" story, but I assure everyone that it is not what you would normally expect.

The romance isn't pushed on all cylanders, I'm more of a humor-description kind of writer, so I look at that first. That would explain why it's so long (Second longest fanfic in the section. ^^;) But I do wish that my original character is pleasing and will not make you rage. And even though I do create a story based on an original character, I have no objections to yuri or anything regular.

Here it is: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4006187/1/A_Second_Opinion

While you read this you should know two things.

1. I'm a Harmonix fanboy. (Guitar Hero 1, 2, 80s, Rock Band 1 and 2) It's not improbable to have the games there even if it is a bit odd, but I do love the games. So hopefully the descriptions or chapters on games won't bore you.

2. If you are a new reader, please, do not read the reviews. Unless you want to be spoiled on what will happen, don't read the reviews. And if you do review my story here put a spoiler tag on anything Chapter 22 and After. Just a precaution. ^^;

I've dabbled in a couple of other things though. Here is my non-OC one shot about a certain little parody. And along with that, I have two other one shots that are spin-offs of the current story. One is an extended scene of Chapter 21 while the other one is just a supernatural gaming funfest.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4561299/1/Dark_Chocolate

On a couple of other notes, A Second Opinion is close to completion and I'm already thinking of other alternate scenes or sequels and stuff. (Sequel would be more of a series of one-shots, but whatever) I just thought I should tell you all that.

And, I know this is a bit shameless but if you are in the mood for a more rare pairing, you should look at this fic that me and Kagami~n have been suggesting by an author called Mad Pierrot Le Fou. It's just fantastic.

Something that gloomy isn't really my thing. I can't get enough happy in the Lucky Star section. Now if it were the Evangelion section and was this happy... then I'd leave.

If you want to explore the scenario, you could always try to write it yourself. ^^ Konata doesn't really seem to care what other people think of her. She definitely inherited her father's personality, and he's the same way. I think that the latter of your two scenarios is more likely. Imagining Konata as the victim of female bullying is sort of a stretch... in fact, I've never really seen her interact with any classmate that she doesn't already know or know through someone. I'm guessing she's too weird to pick on. And if someone tried, I assume that she would give so little in the way of a reaction that it wouldn't be worth it.

And Kagami would kick their ass anyway.

Nukerjsr

Lucky Star is a happy place, so angst isn't really that appealing. I don't mind if a character gets in despair once in a while, but a full on dramafest makes me feel uneasy. (Lonely Kagami >_>)

I don't mind that idea though with Konata however. You don't really have to force it on her, but I can easily see her getting the message. Like Miyuki or Misao or Ayano saying "Hey, you might want to leave Kagami alone or she might leave you." That would scare the crap out of her. She shouldn't turn her life around, being an otaku is in her blood. Something that would make her think is the key to getting Konata.

If you desire to keep the fic Japan-centered, people have been enjoying GuitarFreaks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GuitarFreaks) and DrumFreaks in Japanese arcades since 1998. Konami must cry themselves to sleep now with Harmonix and Red Octane making so much money off the consoles.

That opens up for lots of funny, actually. Now we can explore why Konata: a) came to Earth, b) decided to become an otaku, and c) absolutely doesn't care what people think of her. Seriously, I wouldn't mind thinking people as weird as that to be aliens.

No worries, I researched all of it before posting it. It turns out that Japan does sell the Guitar Hero series so it's possibility isn't completely gone. There's also the modification of systems for legion-locked games, which isn't too uncommon. I did look into the history though of Konami would GuitarFreaks and DrumMania. It's pretty interesting how things are. In fact, Konami took a swing at things and tried to release something similar to Rock Band for the states. The result...not too great. :heh:

But I've also updated my own story. One more chapter to go. @_@

I wouldn't mind that either, as long as it doesn't get too scientific on us. I can imagine Konata being really blunt about the subject like. "Do you know how BORING it is flying around in a saucer all day?!" Plus, that could contribute to why she loves Haruhi Suzumiya because Yuki is an alien and we all know how awesome she is. ;)

Now -that- is what we would call a crack fic. Completely implausible and off-the-wall. I think so few of those are actually done well... because if it's not funny, then a crack fic has (usually) failed.

I know a certain someone who is working on one now that I'm really looking forward to.

Alien Konata could also go into explaining her ahoge, lol.

I'll probably end up not writing anything, because I don't have the time. I'm simply throwing ideas around for people to pick up.

See, if Konata's ever an alien, we don't go to her saucer or go scientific or whatnot. Being that serious about aliens is terrible in my opinion. >_>;;

My rationale is that she's a damn bored alien who figured that being an otaku is fun and would keep on doing it. The slice of life would revolve around her being extremely naive on social affairs and pulling off completely unexplainable feats that people don't seem to notice as weird (but Kagami does, right?).

And if you paid attention you would notice that I just want Nagato Yuki to be an otaku for a day and see what happens. :)

That's what one-shots are for. Moments of inspiration that you just have to put down on Word. It's happened to me. Aliens are mixed for the most part just because they are divided between humor and serious-business. And while some can be great/insightful, others can be annoying/cheesy/tedious.

On the subject of Nagato and Otakus, there was one crazy thought I had. What if Minami were a closet otaku? The idea sprung to me when they had that Yuki cosplayer in the Cosplay Cafe episode and...well...they are nearly identical in every way. (Except the hair) But still, I think it would interesting.

There's a new Konami story that's up now, how is it? With Akai, I think he was planning some kind of Naruto parody, but we would of seen it by now. Think I should ask him?

Congrats (again) Nuke! Think you're gonna take a break for a while now?

There was a sudden slew of Konami stories/updates recently. While I wasn't too satisfied with what they offered, I'm pretty happy with Mr. Samuel's update. His story is sweet and fanservicey, very good for when you want a good Konami read without feeling guilty for reading badfic.

There's also a really... bizarre twincest story up now. It doesn't make much sense. I sorta wish that people wouldn't write that whole OVA scene to death.

One of the reviews of that weird fic was pretty offensive to me. It addresses people who don't like the story as "you lesbians". To me and my partner, that's sorta like saying "you black people" or "you jews". One of us is thinking of leaving a review of the story and addressing that... I'm just so tired of seeing that kind of crap.

Whoa whoa whoa, don't tell me that new story by Dee is about twincest. To be honest, the idea of Kagami/Tsukasa twincest is not completely out of range (Since Tsukasa is so dependant on her), however with her writing it it just feels like it would be awkward.

As for what I plan to do, as I've said I shall be researching and working on my Haruhi fic. But while I'm doing that, I'm going to be sporadically updating my fic: Vigorous Intent. Which is basically like "The Adventures of Meito Anizawa" combined with Rock Band/Elite Beat Agents.

oooooooooooooh finally got a fanfiction tread for lucky star \o/

I was fallenangel-vamp on FF now Saharet ;) if anyone wants to read my fic http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4129313/1/Battle_Star_Royale It's a M rated crossover with Battle Royale, small Konami but present^^;

I wanna start the party with a dating sim of Konata! X3

Master of Sims

Konata stared at the open window, it was sunny outside; the sky was blue and cloudless. She hoist her chin on her open palm, too tired to lift her head anymore. She wasn't really looking outside though, more like staring at the open window, right... She absent mindly acknowledged the fact that Kuroi-sensei was talking in the front of the class, hearring a word here and there. She yawned and her eyes shift an inch closer to being completely closed, she groaned and finally succombed to the fatigue she felt.

BONK

Konata's eyes shot open as a sudden pain hit the back of her head, making her slip out of her palm and hitting her chin on the desk.

"Kuso!"

Kuroi laughed the scene off and flicked Konata's forehead before continuing her lecture, Konata groaned and rubbed her chin. After the lecture, which seemed to last for hours to the little otaku, lunch break finally arrived.

Konata grabbed her lunch and pushed her chair to tsukasa's desk, sitting down and getting her chocolate cornet out, biting in it.

"Ossu!"

Kagami opened the door and happily walked to her friends, she appeared in a good mood. Konata turned her gaze to Tsukasa and Miyuki who seemed in a discussion about dentist, then back to Kagami who was still getting her stuff out of her bento, a smile on her lips.

Alright guys, here's the fun part, you, yes... YOU get to choose what will happen, well, what Konata will do. This is a dating sim, she can go out with any of the three other main cast... and maybe some more will be unlocked ;)

What will Konata do?
A) Eat her chocolate cornet and start talking about the last episode of soul eater that was on last night.
B) Get in Miyuki and Tsukasa's dentist talk
C) Ask Kagami what makes her happy like that

This way of voting comes from the Nanoha fanfiction tread ;)

Enjoy~

Here's the /late/ follow up:

Konata made her cat like smile and took a bite of her chocolate cornet, chewing slowly as she looked at her friends. She suddenly jumped up and yelled: “You guys saw the last Soul Eater last night? It was AWESOME!” getting the attention of Tsukasa, Miyuki and Kagami…but all the classes as well.

Tsukasa giggled and nodded, having been hooked to the anime too. Konata begun to review the anime with a passion, taking a bite every now and then to punctuate her comments. Tsukasa was listening with a nice smile, used to her friend's antics when it came to anime. Miyuki was politely listening too, eating her food with her chopsticks. The thing was, she had absolutely no idea what Konata was saying since she didn’t watch Soul eater, but she was used to Konata as well and her flailing every now and then made her smile. Kagami on the other hand tried to ignore the hyper Konata… sure, Soul eater was kinda good, and she had read the first volume when Konata had lend it to her but there was no reason to talk about it so fervently in her opinion.

“And then, and then she rose her arms and blocked the hit with Soul! It was sooooooooooooo close I can’t believe she did it! *bite* I was sure she was gonna get slashed across the chest!”

Kagami groaned loudly and put down her chopstick, turning her head to frown at Konata.

“How can you be surprised when you already read the manga? Isn’t it the same?” asked Kagami with a huff.

Konata smiled her cat-like smile to her and chuckled.

“Oh Kagami-sama, you have no idea how much anime and manga *bite* are different. Basically they make the battle so much more alive that sometimes we forget how it went!”

Kagami raised an eyebrow at the “sama” and the other one at Konata’s comment.

“How can you forget it? You read it a month ago!”

“Ahhh Kagamin, if I tried to *bite* remember every details in all of my mangas and animes, I would never find any pleasure in reading them again, ne?”

“But how can you?! It’s impossible to forget stuff like dying characters and big bruises and the like!”

Konata didn’t respond and closed her already half closed green eyes, smiling and leaning to Kagami’s side.

“Kagamin, you lack the looove~”

The said girl looked back at Konata with an annoyed look and decided to ignore the little otaku for the rest of the lunch before she needed some aspirin for the next class.

Konata smirked and took a last bite to finish her cornet, turning once again to her other friends who had started their dentist conversation again. She shrugged and opened her bottle of milk, gulping a mouthful while watching their flailing at the drills’ mention.

‘Man do I love my friends…’

After classes, Konata jumped off her chair and yawned loudly, stretching her little limbs and looking outside the window. It was rainning outside.

'Damn! I forgot to bring back my umbrella!'

The little otaku frowned and looked back at Miyuki and Tsukasa who were still putting their stuff away.

'I could ask one of them for a second umbrella, I'm pretty sure Tsukasa has only one, if she has any at all. Miyuki has one for sure...but maybe a second. Kagami might have two herself, but then again I got on her nerves this lunch break. Maybe I should just run with my bag on my head?'

What Shall Konata do?

A) Ask Miyuki for a spare unbrella
B) Ask Kagami for a spare umbrella
C) Take it like a "man" and run under the rain

Enjoy and vote :3

Just wanted to say right here, since I know that you still check this board Chiki, it wasn't me. :P I don't care if you try n' smear me or not, just lettin' ya know.

I also wanted to ask - Does anyone know how Yutaka refers to Kagami? First name or last name? I'm including some interaction in a chapter, and I can't recall.

I heard she's blocking anonymous reviews again. But oh well, that's the price of being an artist. (A writer in this case, but you get the picture) Dealing with Critique.

Yutaka would probably call her Kagami-san. She seems to respect just about everyone. With the Hiiragi twins, it's kind of confusing since it's a family names first.

Made by friend, not me.

Cakey Kagami

"Winter break is finally here!", yelled Konata.

She was running up towards the others who had already gotten together to talk about vacation. She was looking very cheerful with her long blue hair and pink winter uniform. She was always angry at her extremely short size compared to everyone else but today her mind was other places. Tsukasa, Kagami, and Miyuki had fell silent just as they turned to face their friend.

"Yeah but can you believe all the homework we have to do?", Tsukasa sadly said. She was wearing the same uniform with her short purple hair backed with a yellow headband.

"Like you guys ever do your homework. You'll just ask to copy it off me like you guys do everytime", explained Kagami as she combed her long purple locks tied with bows with her hands.

Konata and Tsukasa both blushed at what Kagami said. They were used to putting off their studies and thankfully had Kagami to help bail them out.

"I've already done most of my homework." Miyuki happily said while her long pink hair flushed around her face wrapping on her glasses. Being the tallest and smartest of the group she was always looked up to. She also showed much better 'features' than the rest of the group. "It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to complete the rest of it", she smiled.

"I can't wait for my Christmas animes", yelled Konata acting like a complete fangirl. Her stomach growled and her face went pale. "I'm so hungry...let's go to the cake buffet!", she suggested.
"B-but...my winter diet", Kagami said. She always was concerned about her wait even though it was never more than 1 or 2 pounds that she gained occasionally.

After a convinces arguement...that and the fact Kagami hadn't had cake in weeks, they all decided to go. They all walked to the buffet while Konata, being the hungriest, led the way to the buffet. When they arrived they were surprised that almost no people were there. Break has just started so they assumed everyone left town for the holidays. They each payed their toll and sat at a booth. The waitress greeted them and told them that they had an hour to eat but would have to pay for anything they didn't finish at the end. Kagami looked into her wallet.

"Ugh. We had better finish what we grab. I'm out of money", she said holding her wallet upside down.

They got up and each grabbed a plate and filled them with little cakes. They sat back down and munched away acting as if the cakes were baked in the heavens.

"Mmmmmm this is so yummy!", yelled Konata holding her fork high in the air.

They each got up another 2 times before reaching their limits. They sat full and satisfied but also a little sick. There were still 4 pieces of cake left but no one made a gesture to grab them and time was almost up.

"Ahhh I'm so full, I can't eat anymore", sighed Konata.

"What!? You're the one who wanted us to come here in the first place. We have to finish hurry!" Kagami shouted forcing down another piece.

Tsukasa gagged and she chomped on her last one and Konata almost puked. Miyuki couldn't even look at her piece let alone eat it so Kagami kindly ate it for her. The waitress checked their table and thanked them for going. They got up and headed out the door. They walked down the street wearily. Konata almost puked as she spoke.

"Let's go to my house for some videogames", she said happily.

"Always gaming, even on break", Tsukasa giggled.

Nonetheless, the girls thought that it would be the perfect way to end the day and so agreed to play for awhile. They took the long way to Konata's house since they couldn't afford the bus after the buffet and arrived before the sun started to set. The sky was still blue with the chilliness of winter. Konata tried the door...it was locked.

"Odd. My dad must not be home", she said as she pounded the door. She began to kick it in dismay. "NOOO my games!"

"Maybe he will be back any moment now", Miyuki said aloud to comfort.

However she was wrong. Half an hour passed before they realized he wasn't coming back anytime soon. The group sat around sulking in the cold winter breeze as the sky finally started to darken. Tsukasa shivered and tried her best to huddle with the group in an attempt to warm herself.

"I-isn't there another way inside? It's so cold", she asked.

Konata got up and walked around to the back without a word. The other 3 looked at each other dazed and followed. They found her at the back of the house looking up. They too looked up and saw she was staring at a small window several feet off the ground.

"There!", Konata pointed. "That is our way into the great cavern of gaming and warmth", she said dramatically.

"You mean your room?", Miyuki quietly laughed.

They stared at it again but all felt very doubtful. Konata jumped for the window but she was far too short.

"Grrr...it's too high"

"Haha! No you're just too short", laughed Kagami obviously trying purposely to offend Konata.

Next Tsukasa tried. She grabbed the edges but was too weak to pull herself up and fell.

"Sorry I guess I can't get up there", she said sadly. "Miyuki you're tall, why don't you try?"

Miyuki jumped and grabbed the window. She was able to pull herself up and poke her head throught the tiny window. As she began to fall in she stopped at her chest. She was much more 'matured' than her friends. She tried to shove her self through but it wouldn't work no matter how hard she tried and so she fell back to the ground defeated. Everyone knew she wouldn't fit so they all turned to Kagami who stared at the window.

"Maybe we should just wait for your dad. He can't be away for much longer", Kagami nervously said to Konata.

"What? But Kagami-san we can all be warm inside if you just go through the window...", Konata made a puppy-dog face.

"UH you're such a brat! Ok ok I'll go", She held her stomach before looking up one last time.

She always had a winter diet this time of year, so she would be able to get through easily...right? Plus she wasn't as matured as Miyuki was. She jumped for the window grabbing it easily and lifted herself with difficulty and poked her upper torso in.

"Looking good Kagami-san!" Konata yelled with a thumbs up.

Kagami ignored her and continued on through. The inside of the room already warmed her face and she relaxed. She gave a couple jerks to try and throw herself through a little at a time and got about halfway. She jerked again when she suddenly stopped. Her belly was in no way fat but it protruded just a few inches from the rest of her. She wiggled a little and slid through some more but the window felt tighter around her midsection each time. After about a minute she couldn't get any further and the others watched her kick in her skirt from the outside. "UGH! Stupid window! It's too small!", she growled.

"You're gonna get stuck", Konata shouted.

"Oh what do you know!?", Kagami replied back angrily. After what Konata said, she had to get through now. "I can't let Konata have the joy of being right. Time to get serious", she said as she pulled with all her strength. After a minute of non-stop pulling and wiggling, she stopped and found herself not even an inch closer to her goal. She hated to admit it..but she was just too big. She sighed and turned to her side to yell.

"Guys! I don't fit. I knew that cake was a bad idea. I'm coming back out....", she attemped to jump back but she didn't move. The window secured her from going either way. She struggled and mumbled to herself angrily. The others were in shock at the sight but Konata laughed.

"Stuck? That's what you deserve for calling me short"

"SHUTUP!", Kagami placed her feet on the outside of the house as she tried to still yank herself from the window. She couldn't get out. She stopped after awhile and breathed heavily.

"Sis, can we help?", Tsukasa asked

"PULL ME OUT!"

"Not until you admit your stuck", Konata jested waving a single finger with a deviant look on her face",

"I'm...stuck. Happy? I'm stuck!", Kagami shouted.

Satisfied Konata said,"Ok guys grab Cakey's legs and pull her out".

"Did...did she just call me cakey?", Kagami said to herself still trying to back out.

Miyuki and Tsukasa each jumped and grabbed a leg as Konata sat laughing. They started to pull and it seemed to work a little but Kagami just wouldn't fit back out the way she came. They pulled Kagami until their muscles let out and fell backwards. Kagami still struggled to go either way but her belly just kept her in place.

"This is just like one of my mangas!", Konata stopped laughing. "You see this girl got stuck in a window and she was helped by this guy..."

"Can you come back to reality for a minute Konata?! Just get me out of this window!", Kagami yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Whoa there cakey", Konata smiled. "In the manga the guy lubed her up. It didn't work for her but maybe for you it would. Tsukasa do you have any lotion on you?"

"Me? Oh...ummmm...yeah! I took it from my mom because I liked the scent but you can use it". Tsukasa reached into her bag and pulled out a pinkish bottle. She handed it to Konata who smothered a little onto her hands. Her hands glistening she looked up and Kagami.

"Ok now Tsukasa, Miyuki...help me up to get to the blockage".

"Blockage?", Kagami muttered under her breath. She waited to feel Konata's hands on her shirt lubing her up and was surprised at feeling the coldness of the lotion on her skin.

"AHH! What are you doing?", screamed Kagami.

"It's not your shirt that's stuck so quiet down cakey"

"Stop calling me that. It's your fault I went against my diet in the first place!"

Konata ignored Kagami as she finish. "Kagami is always screaming about something", she thought. Miyuki and Tsukasa dropped back down in a heap exhausted. None of them had the muscle for these kinds of things. Konata wiped the rest of the lotion on her skirt and smiled, "Ok try now cakey!"

"I'll kill her when I get out...UGHHH!" Kagami pulled with all her might. It worked a little but not much. She got tired after a couple of tries and was about to give up when she suddenly jerked forward. She smiled thinking she was finally unstuck but when she pulled again she felt the frame hit her hips. She turned and gasped. Her butt was still stuck outside.

The rest of the group couldn't believe what they saw. Kagami hung there just as stuck as ever. They all sighed and looked at the ground stumped.

"I guess the cake went other places as well", Konata whispered. "That's strange"

"Actually that's quite normal for sweets to go there for women. That's why we should all watch what we eat", Miyuki pointed out politely.

Still struggling Kagami tried to grip the wall and pull but her hips were just a little to wide.

"Uhh guys? I'm still stuck here!"

The girls were already working on it. After the little rest they got, Miyuki and Tsukasa both got up. Then Konata jump onto Tsukasa's shoulder and Tsukasa stepped onto Miyuki's back forming a sort of human ladder. Tsukasa swung Konata into Kagami's backside and she began pushing. Startled at first, Kagami began to pull again. This kept up for awhile but no luck.

Konata could see that Kagami was not gonna make it through. Her hips almost fit all she needed was some final momemtum. She asked herself "what would a videogame character do?". Then a smile formed cynically across her face.

"Guys, I'm going to fall over" Miyuki said as the last of her strength left her.

Kagami was gave up pulling. She almost cried at the thought of the fire department having to pull her out of a window. What if the kids at school heard? She could never go back. She was about to try one last time to get squeeze through when she felt Konata's hands leave her rear.

"...Konata? Are you still there?", Kagami asked. She thought Miyuki had fell causing them to tumble and hurt themselves. It would be all her fault if they did. Then she heard Konata's voice boom through the wall.

"KONATA PAWWNCHHH!", Konata shouted as she plowwed her fist into Kagami's rear sending her flying through the window onto the Tatami floor. Simultaneously, Miyuki fell over and caused Tsukasa to fall over as well. Konata fell onto the floor next to them. "I knew watching anime would help one day!" she threw up a peace sign.
"I guess I miscalculated my own strength", Miyuki said drained from the unforseen workout.

"Yay sis got through. Let's go to the front now." Tsukasa said happily and crawled as she got up.

Tsukas went around and knocked on the door loudly. "You ok sis?", she yelled. The door creaked open slowly and a slumped over Kagami stood in the entrance. Her face was a dark blue from embarassment. Konata threw her hands into the air. "Thanks Cakey!" she smiled.

"I'll remember this" Kagami said giving a piercing glance. "I'll remember this Konata."

For the record, I've actually read long stories before. However, I do note that current-generation kids' eyes glaze when there are long paragraphs, so that's what people need to keep short.

Yeah, it's the "textwall" that we want to avoid. Even I feel a little inclined to hit the back button when I encounter one of these in fanfiction. It shows a lack of knowing how to space, and indicates that we're in for a big run-on.

Also it makes those damn kids go "I dun wanna READ all this!"

I do read long stories. I try not to let the wordcount intimidate me... but if the story is really sub-par and has somewhere around 10,000 per chapter, then I probably don't wanna waste my time.

I think that's what I meant. I have read and enjoyed really long stories before too, but lately there's been an issue or two with things. I've seen a few text walls where a bunch of dialogue is placed into ONE paragraph, or a story that has one chapter with 2k words, and the next chapter is seven times bigger.

I'm sure most people know how to size their chapters. If I see something like 10+ chapters from the get-go, though, I usually don't take the time to read it unless I was actively looking for something like it. This also applied to manga.

In a bit an random/interesting news, I and a few other people have made a collective guide to what you want to do if you are considering writing stories in Lucky Star. You are free to submit any information you believe is important. (And it contains a secondary guide for people who want to make original characters)

http://www.fanfiction.net/topic/41488/11948327/1/

And with stories, someone is doing a really nice Tsukasa/Misao story. (I never would of thought of it.) It's odd how these irregular pairings are working so well.

I did try rather hard on this one, namely in attempting to balance the grief and light comedy. Some yuri pairing at the end, but nothing too heavy, since it felt like it would be a bit out-of-turn given the circumstances.

And I second Kagamin's praise for "Three Days Five Steps". If everyone favorited that story, there would be world peace (probably).

I is back~ :3
Since this tread seemed dead and I'm going back to my L*S fandom I thought I might keep my dating sim up to date and write the next round >.>

After her last class ended Konata grabbed her bag and took a deep breath in yelling “BANZAIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” She jumped down the stairs to run through the rain, her bag over her head as her only protection against the constant falling water. She almost slipped at least a dozen times and grabbed a stop sign suddenly, diving under a bus stop.

“The mission is not over, keep going Izumi!” she panted as she started running again. The rain was now heavier and she had a hard time keeping her eyes opened, merely enough to see in front of her. The wind wasn’t on her side as well, whipping the ice cold water in her face painfully.

‘Maybe this wasn’t a good idea…after all.’ The little otaku slipped near the train station and let out a loud yelp as her head was about to connect to the concrete. She flailed and started yelling a very high pitched forced scream.

“Erm..I-Izumi-san you are ok.”

“Kona-chan, stop flailing.”

Konata stopped her spastic movements and looked behind her at Minami holding her head; she had probably saved Konata from death! Or a very painful bump, either really.

“Ooooooooooooooh! You saved me!” Konata turned around and did a “Nice guy” pose. Minami blinked and Yutaka sweat dropped, giggling and getting a small handkerchief out to try and dry her cousin’s hair.

“Are you going home Yukata or are you going at Minami’s?”

The little pink haired girl blushed and waved her hands in front of her. “I’m going home as well. Minami-chan was only walking me at the station since she was afraid I’d fall because of the rain, she doesn’t need to take the train.”

Konata blinked and did her famous cat face.

What shall Konata do?

A) Make a perverted comment to make both girls blush
B) Pat Minami on the back and tell her not to worry about Yutaka
C) Point the fact Yutaka has an umbrella in her bag and ask to borrow it

Slow...but updated!

Konata blinked and did her famous cat face.

"Awww... you guys are precious." she leaned forward closer to Yutaka and Minami who both started blushing and whispered in a false concerned voice. "Whenever it happens, dun forget to lock the door~"

The little otaku skipped away under the rain towards the train, leaving two heavilly blushing girls behind.

Konata grabbed the handle dangling from the train ceilling and rubbed her face dry, holding her bag to her chest and mumbling.

'Who the hell thought about white uniform...'

She glanced at a middle aged man looking at her with lecherous eyes and rolled her own.

'This ride is gonna be long...'

After 5 minutes Konata took out her cell phone and played a bit of tetris to get her mind off the pervs staring at her. She scoffed and glared at one of them to make them look somewhere else, if only briefly and sweatdropped when the gaze didn't falter.

"For crying out loud..." she muttured.

When the train came to a halt at her stop, she jumped out and swaetdropped as the rain was still as heavy as before. "Great"

She dashed through the streets and finally jumped on her porch, coming to an abrupt halt and spreading her arms while bending her knees a bit.

SAFE!!!

God knows suddenly started playing and she grabbed her cell phone while opening her door.

"yo?"

"Erm...K-kona-chan? Its yutaka..I erm..well when you talked to me and Minami I kinda spaced out and missed the train..."

Konata facepalmed. She had completely forgot about the fact Yutaka took the same train as her.

"I'm so sorry Yutaka" she apologised, then a cat smile spread along her face and she closed her eyes saying "At least you can probably stay at Minami's place ne?"

"Ehh?! How do you know I'm here?"

Konata grinned wider and waved this off with her hand.

"Just a hunch, I'll tell dad. You guys have fun and don't forget to lock the door, byyye~"

"KONA- click." The blue haired girl snickered a bit and finally entered her home to go and dry herself.

************************************************** ***

After dinner she walked back to her room and looked around, there was her computer on the right, her bed on the left and her bag full of homework at her feet.

She closed her eyes and decided to...

A) Do her homeworks for once, she shouldn't procastinate or copy on Kagami this much.

B) Play her MMORPG! She has to go do this new quest they have anyway.

C) Play her dating Sim, this girl is soooooooo close to fall for her

Ah why not? Saharet got me into Lucky Star again >.< Here, have a Konata/Kagami story :3 Dedicated to my wolfie Saha <3

Konata glanced back over her shoulder when her door opened up, fingers instantly triggering the alt+tab command to minimize the game she had been playing. "Oh, Kagamin is early?" Turning her chair around, she watched the purple haired girl move to sit on her bed.

"Tsukasa got a cold so it is just me for the sleepover." Curiously she picked up the magazine on the bed, eye twitching as she realized it was a hentai doujinshi. "Though I'm getting creeped out being alone with you now."

"This is a perfect chance to raise the flag!" Hopping from her chair, she moved to sit on Kagami's lap on the bed, making the other girl scoot back to try and get away until her back hit the wall. "This is how most erotic scenes start! I didn't know I was heading down the Kagamin path."

"Wait, Konata!" She tried to push the girl off. "Don't include me in your fantasies."

"Why not?" Konata sat on Kagami's legs and simply stayed there. "You're the warrior of the party, you have to protect me."

'she's not even listening.' A small sigh came out.

"What choices do I have?" The blue haired girl placed her fist into the palm of her other hand. "Okay!"

Before Kagami could ask, her friend moved closer to her, their foreheads touching. "Wha-what?"

"Kagamin..." Noses grazing, she reached up to touch her friend's neck. "You don't feel like you have fever... I guess you didn't get sick as well."

Kagami felt like hitting her. "Hey! Don't get so close so suddenly just to spew that stuff!" Scoffing, she turned away. 'You made my heart beat fast, idiot.'

"Oh? Should I try for something else?" Konata scooted closer again, hands on Kagami's shoulders. "Kagamiiiiin." Her eyes sparkled. "you really came alone just to spend time with me, right?"

"Konata!" Heart pouding in her chest, Kagami tried to steady herself.

"Or maybe this leads to a hentai scene!" Her hands trailed down Kagami's sides. "My first time... I want it to be with you..."

Before she could stop herself, Kagami felt her palm collide with her friend's cheek. "Don't use my feelings for your perverted fantasies!"

Konata slowly brought her fingers up to touch her reddening cheek. "you... slapped me..."

"Because you're being stupid!" A sniff made Kagami realize that a small stream of tears had left her eyes, but the anger was dominate over the feeling. "Don't say things like that!"

A rare moment came where Konata was quiet, looking at the angry eyes glaring at her mixed with the tears that she didn't know if were from said anger or something else. "I was just playing..."

"I know! you're always playing! Didn't you even stop to consider my feelings!? How would you feel if someone played with your emotions, just to get a laugh from it!?"

Another moment of silence passed between them before Konata finally looked down. "I'm sorry... Normally when this happens I just reset and pick a differnt option..."

"I'm not a-!"

"I know," Konata's soft voice made Kagami stop her verbal abuse. "I'm sorry, I don't know what to say. I'm not good at real feelings."

'Is she... being serious?' Kagami hesitated, using the moment to wipe her eyes clean from her little outburst. After a moment of looking at Konata's face, she finally sighed. "I'm sorry I slapped you."

"You know..." Her voice didn't have the normal spring in it that normally came from Konata's words. "When I play games, and the protagonist does something to make a girl cry, I always thought he was really stupid...That there was no way he couldn't understand what he was saying... And I did it to you."

"Don't put me in your game, Kona-" Stopping again, she was shocked to find a light mist in her friend's eyes. "Konata?"

"So yeah... Sorry."

"Just... Just don't be so playful. If you have something to say to me, then just tell me."

"Really?" Konata looked up at her again.

"Wh-why are you suddenly looking at me like that?"

"Because..." Leaning forward, she touched her forehead against Kagami's again. "I did that because I really wanted to touch Kagamin."

Not saying anything, Kagami looked away, allowing Konata to touch her sides again. "Stupid."

Konata pulled back and averted her eyes. "Sorry." When she moved to get off her friend, she found her shirt pinched in Kagami's hand. "Kagamin?"

"If you... want to touch me, then just touch me okay?"

"...Really?" Konata's voice perked up. "I can?"

"D-don't make me say it twice!"

"Kagamin!" Lurching herself forward, she pounced her friend so they both fell over onto the bed.

"H-hey, wait! Don't.. just..." Her spazzing slowed when she realized that she was just being hugged, Konata's head resting on her chest.

"Just for a bit, okay?"

"... Okay." Wrapping her arms around Konata, she closed her eyes and allowed herself to smile. 'I guess even she can have a weak moment...Am I the only one to ever see it?' Her eyes snapped open and her brow twitched. "Konata, pull my shirt back down." She bopped the girl on the head and got a small laugh. "... Stupid." The word, although mean, held a fondness to it that wasn't lost on the one holding her.
