Konami has released a first trailer for the long awaited fourth opus of the Silent Hill series. Silent Hill 4 The Room will see you assuming the role of a man trapped in his cursed apartment. The game is scheduled for a simultaneous release in fall of 2004 on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

Impressive, weird, cool and scary. But what would Silent Hill be if not scary?

I wonder if this one will be better than the 2nd..
The 3rd one was great, indeed it was. But not really on the same level as SH2.
The characters, story, music.. Well, you name it; It's all better in Silent Hill 2.

So, I really hope this one is going to be better/just as good as the 2nd one.

well,i'm not so sure about SH 2 or 3,hav not played it yet,but i jus think that the game kinda following the resident evil type,goin on and on........but one i like about SH is that the game is deffinately scarier than RE

Well.. RE is RE and SH is SH.
They're totally different. Really..

There IS a reason for all the "zombies" in Resident Evil. It's all because of the Virus.
But what about Silent Hill? Nope, there is no reason for all the sick stuff.

They call in "monsters" in the game, but what made them monsters?
No one knows.

Do you get what I'm trying to say?

And also, something they said in SH3 that's quite intresting
Vincent: You come here and enjoy spilling their
blood and listening to them cry out.
Vincent: You feel excited when you step on them,
snuffing out their lives.
Heather: Are you talking about the monsters?
Vincent: Monsters...?
Vincent: They look like monsters to you?
*Heather gasps.*
Vincent: Don’t worry, it’s just a joke.
*Vincent starts to walk away.*

About SH4:
Damn I can't wait for this game. I need something scary to play now!
Well, I guess I'll have to wait for Forbidden Siren's release, and get it when it's out.

Actually, I really hope that SH4 is going to be as good as/better than the 2nd.
I'm ready to wait one more year for that!

omg its creepy :s Never played a Silent Hill game but it seems even scarier than Resident Evil. Is it going to be out on PC?

Since Silent Hill 2 & 3 were ported to the PC, the same should happen with the fourth opus.

Indeed.
Not just that, they're all great too.

I'm really looking forward to the 4th one. Too bad I live in Europe (=We get the game like... one year later than japan).

this trailer, id have to say shocked me i terms of design and graphics. god it looked just like a film!!! ive never like playing SH but respect it immensely as a piece of art and 4 is loking to be the best SH thus far

Hmm, I enjoyed SH and SH3 more than SH2. SH2 didn't have any of that when the enviroment suddenly turns into a hellish nightmare. The original SH was the first really scary game I had ever played (RE is not scary) and sometimes I was almost too scared to go on. I remember walking in the city and hearing all these noices from creatures around me. I didn't know where I was because I couldn't look at the map in the dark and I didn't want to turn the light on or the monsters would spot me. Then suddenly the streets turn into a damn rusty iron net thing and the music changes to something quite disturbing....ahh the memories. :)

Just finished watching the trailer. Looks like SH4 will have some of the best monster designs in gaming history. :D

i've yet to be impressed with any of the silent hill games . maybe 5 will be different .

Looks twisted as always im sure i will rent it out but OMG the new Resident evil 4 footage looks 100 times better :P

Yah Silent Hill is unbeatable in inducing fear midgame. Resident Evil would surprise you now and then with the loud bang. SH on the other hand, has this scary heartbeat-like rytham throughout. It owns :help:
