That episode was terrible. :(
It was so bad I had to make this whiner thread to vent my displeasure. :D I'm a big fan of this anime (the humming ep is one of my favorites of all time)...

I don't know, it was OK in my opinion, not great.
I had the feeling I somehow missed out on some of the jokes, probably a cultural thing.
Yeah this episode was ok at best. But I do like this series a lot.

I thought it was silly. Not up to par with some of the funnier episodes (2,3 and 5 are my favorites), but not worth making a rant thread about, IMO. :heh:
Am I going nuts or was Gerotan voiced by the girl who did Momiji in Fruits Basket (Saitoh Ayaka)? It's been many months since I last watched FB so I can't tell for sure. :)

Yeah, that was one crazy episode. Poor mechazawa, I hope his reset button isnt in the same place as Chii's. I was also hoping Maeda's mom would say something else.

I laughed so many times in this episode! I think this is my favorite episode now. Of course, any ep with Mechazawa is a plus and Megawatt was so cute when he vibrated like a cell phone.
i was lmao when they used him as a phone.. >_<, best ep so far imo.

Well, this was one of the better episodes. It was hilarious when they got arrested for wearing the kendo gear, Freddy had naruto on his face, and they followed another girl gorilla back to the city. Strange humor, but its great.
anybody know what episode they are up to in the airing in japan? the last sub was ep 12 AFAIK, but that was back at the end of dec...
I know the raw for ep 19 came out recently, so at least 19 episodes. Say, isn't there already a Cromartie thread around?

i won't complain about the long release schedule (since i hate it when people whine to me about things) , but it will be a great day when i get to see more of this excellent show :) maybe they'll release a bunch at once if they feel like it :bow:

edit: Tommy answered my question. This thread is the "pretend-not-to-whine-about-when-the next-episode-comes-out" thread. I can't even tell if his dragging in of Mermaid's Forest and Bobobobobobobo is on- or off-topic ><
I have a bad feeling I'm never going to get to see the end of this series or Mermaids Forest, two series that just kinda dissappeared :sad: . Oh yeah what about Boboboo too? Although it hasn't been nearly as long since the first episode of that was released then an episode was released from the other two. So I still have hope that someone is subbing that series.

yeah, i just watched bobobobobobobobobobo the other day, and i found some parts quite hilarious, but some parts a little bit to far fetched which subtracted from the show... but i was still interested in it enough to want to wait and see if someone will sub more eps :)
i think the difference, though, is that sakigake has almost half the eps subbed already (as long as there are going to be 26 eps), whereas bobobo only has the first ep subbed (? let me know if there are more finished!). at least sakigake seems to have made it off the ground!
my favorite sakigake eps are probably the first ep, the ep with the humming song, and the ep where takenouchi is stuck riding in the taxi all day... and the rest of the eps aren't far behind those in terms of my favorite ;) i didn't enjoy the one about the school board guy's son that much though.... it did have a few good parts still
I think this anime is great. I hope more episodes come out soon, too.
For me, the first ep is the best. Freddy, Gorilla and Mekazawa are too much for just one episode, but there are lots of memorable parts: Maeda's mother, the aliens, the doctor, Mekazawa's brother, etc etc. It's just awesome.

also, it's great to have the freddy theme music come up whenever he shows up :D

That was the first gag that got me starting to like this anime. :D
Some jokes and entire episodes are really stupid, but the good ones are totally worth it. The humming episode had me in stitches the whole time... those delinquents looking so tough while just their nostrils are animated humming that song.... oh heavens I feel like watching it again. :)

I've been wondering this myself. A-M was releasing it so quickly, but it's almost been three or four months since their last release. Maybe they lost their translator?

Maybe they lost a distro person or webhosting instead? According to AnimeNfo's fansub listing page (http://www.animenfo.com/animefansub/group.php?page=4&id=173&sortby=0&sortorder=0&perpage=10) they've released 15 on IRC just last week, including a Cromartie "bonus". I wonder if that's the Cromartie Music Video (or Cromartie March) that a French fansub group has already released subbed? I assume this Cromartie bonus aired on TV or something?
I hope they put them on bittorrent one day. I don't want to install IRC in addition to all my other downloading programs, but I just might since I like Cromartie too much! (Or I'll just wait for ANBU...)
BTW, anyone else frickin LOVE the DVD cover for Cromartie? Love the Queen references. Would make a cool poster. :cool:

I so love Cromartie.. one of the few saving graces of recent memory. Desperately wishing for more of it right about now!
Man I just watched 13, 14 and 15. I forgot how funny this series is! episode 13 was one of the best of the series and 15 was funny as hell too. 14 was kinda meh though.
I hope A-M hasn't dropped this series. I really want to see them sub the rest. :sad: Showed my friends episode 15 and they loved it, which is cool since they hate anime. They said they actually wanted to see the whole series.

Im just geting into this show and im loving it. Its similar to Sexy Commando in that it has some really left field humor, but everyone is always ultra serious looking :heh:.
I find the quality of the Cromartie episodes varies from episode to episode. For example, I thought ep 14 was dreadfully boring, but episode 15 was great. Best thing about the show is the OP, I think. If they ever do change it, I hope they can find something even better to replace it.
P.S: Sentai is good!
I'm desperately awaiting news about ADV licensing Sakegaki Cromartie High. They licensed it before I managed to collect all the fan-subs and I'm caught in the middle. If they dub it faithfully, that will be one kick-ass series to get. If you're not familiar with the show, it's a gag comedy about a reform highschool full of delinquents ranging from a foul-mouthed robot to a 30 year old man & a giant ape. Kick ass. :fingers:

Since the release date is 2006, it's unlikely you'll find anything about the dub for a while yet.
Join the AnimeOnDVD forums and see what they have to say about the voice actors (that is when they are selecting them in a year or so).
Oh man I walked into my local Blockbuster tonight and what do I see... A live action Cromartie High movie!:heh:
It looks so cheesy lol. Can't wait to watch it.

Live action Mechazawa? I'm totally THERE!
So I only just started watching this series, and why? Because I came across some extracts from the OST and was totally bowled over.
Why doesn't anyone talk about how awesome the music in this show is?!!!1!$@()@#($*%
Well, I wanted to watch this from some time back too so...
Anyway, I'm up to only episode 7 so far but it's not bad.
Not the funniest though but that might be because of my mood. I haven't laughed very much. Generally I kinda prefer stuff along the lines of Guu (TV series), Sexy Commando and Gag Manga Biyori (about 55% of the time, some eps in that show are utterly boring too)
So far Mechazawa's my favourite character but I guess it isn't hard to guess why that's the same for many other watchers.
And it's nice finally seeing the origins of that 2ch AA, "Are you possibly saying that as a joke?!".
