After they defeated Riful, Helen's group.
「You guys are the ghosts of the warriors from seven years ago?」 they were thus asked.
At the organization's warriors' space, the enigma of warriors arriving to help out is being spread it seems.
But the organization does not feel comfortable about that.
According to eyewitness reports at Rabona, a suitable war force was sent, Dietrich informed.
With a hurry, Helen and Deneve head towards Rabona.
Scene change, Louvre is being chased by many of the organization's warriors.
It seems it was immediately leaked that there is a spy at the organization.
At the order of a black coat looking like Ermita, warriors apparently surrounded and trapped [Louvre*] in an instant.
From high in the sky, arrows rained incessantly, and [Louvre] escaped in the midst of the trouble.
In front of Louvre who said "good timing," Isley appears.
Again, scene changes to Renee who attached her legs for a chance to escape.
The moment when the fused body awoke could not be helped, she decides with resolve (or resignation).
While Renee was concentrating, Luciela and Rafaela's eyes opened and awoke.
From a far away place, Clare's surprised group senses a powerful youki.
To be continued.

Stream's Translation:

SCENE86: The Taboo Box (or Box of Taboos)
Dietrich who has been saved expresses thanks, and seems to not be inquiring into Deneve's group.
Deneve's group, trying not to look into it too deeply, ask about Helen's objective of her hometown.
However, the request for the awakened being that Dietrich's group defeated to be subjugated came from that village, it seems.
If they were to go now, the likelihood of running into black coats is rather high, they were informed.
Until the black coats are finished with their money collection, being free (ie. having nothing to do), they have a contest with Dieterich.
Scene change to Riful's castle.
Dauf, seriously aiming at the coccoon, unleashing a punch (or punches), snaps and puts an end to it.
From Renee's attractive ability to manipulate, was not enough* for waking the fused being's consciousness, suddenly sensing a large youki (Riful).**
The firm coccoon was created out of a defensive instinct, closed to sever it from contact with everything from the physical world.
The fused being is obviously going to exceed Riful. Attacking it is obviously Renee's attractive ability to manipulate, which is being accepted/received.
Little by little however, it is certainly going to wake up. Like a kind of time bomb, it is growing.
The plan Riful came up with for that occasion was to transport this fused being from Renee to the organization headquarters should it wake up.
It would be comparable to the organization's ruin.

*Not entirely sure if it was this meaning. The verb was kakeru (かける). If you look it up on a Japanese dictionary, you'll discover there is a rather large amount of possible verbs and meanings this could be.
**Parentheses original, not mine.

The guy also put up spoilers on Emba ( エンバ ), Demon Dead ( 屍鬼 ) and Symphony Orchestra ( オケ ) as well as Claymore ( クレイモア ), all from this month's issue of Jump Square on 2ch.

So either he (or his source) actually got a hold of this month's issue of Jump Square (and his spoiler is true) or he used up a lot of time making stuff up for 4 different stories.

Trying to decipher it (I am probably wrong):

So by looking at it first glance, the chapter is solely centered on Helen, Deneve, and Dietrich as they continue to Helen's hometown. The south has changed since Isley came to the South 7 years ago. They arrive at a town (not sure if this is Helen's hometown or not) and half of it is gone and the people tell Helen's group to leave saying that there is a devil/AB nearby.

I think it says that Helen and Deneve leave behind Dietrich and try to look for the devil/AB (in a possibly different nearby town), but the devil/AB is not there. Back to Dietrich, something was hiding behind a tree (Isley?).

Isley hiding behind a tree? Lulz wut? It's very uncharacteristic of him to do so.

There are no plurals in the Japanese language like in English where you just put "s" after the word to signify more than one.

So "tree" could mean "trees", and not just one single tree.

And the author of that spoiler isn't sure that it is Isley, as shown by the question mark after the name. I am assuming that he is guessing that it might be Isley, but Isley is never shown.

And check http://changi.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/ymag/1216862451/l50 which is the current 2ch Jump Square ( ジャンプスクエア ) general discussion thread.

2ch.net is the source of spoilers for every site, whether it be in Japanese, Chinese or English. Almost everything is just taken (or rehashed) from there. 2ch is basically a VERY huge and popular Japanese forum on many wide ranging things. Like comics (such as Claymore) to taxes, real estate, hobbies, tv shows, etc.

You can pretty much find spoilers (real and fake) for whatever manga/anime you want on there.

EDIT: aaand...!

TRANSLATION!
CLAYMORE

Following behind Helen and Deneve is Dietrich.
From seven years ago, there has been a so-called devil residing in the southern lands.
Half a town was obliterated; it is better not to go there, they were advised.
Such a target, Riful's normal, outstanding youki* is at the town before my eyes.
They guessed that Isley is probably with the devil. The two leave Dietrich behind.
Coming just to take a look, the two erase their youkis and sneak in.
The two pass by a person looking like Isley, and ended by being exposed.
Relieved for a moment, Deneve potentially kills.**
On that path, hidden in the trees, someone let something out*** - Dietrich.
Isley? Aside from that, the devil approaches the village.
To be continued in the February issue.

*It sounds like Riful's youki is suppressed to AB level.
**This part gets sorta fuzzy. Either Deneve gets killed or she potentially kills. Either way, it implies the use of a blade.
***Meaning, someone did something to get themselves detected.

Thanks a lot for the translation Stream!

I included it in the big overall spoiler post above.

No problem!

I wish my Japanese were better, though. It is partly thanks to rikaichan (http://www.polarcloud.com/rikaichan/) that I managed to translate that, and I'm still not very confident about it. :-/

Well, looks like it's time to wait for those crazy Chinese scans. CURSES! (In Japan, the magazines are sold on the stands on the release date, but, in China, they are sold as soon as the shopkeepers get them. So, the Chinese get the JP magazines earlier than than the Japanese. :-/)

No way! It's a freaking summary, not a text dump. Why would they need to say something so blatantly obvious? To be honest, I'm slightly suspicious of anyone who felt the need to say something like that. It's like they're trying to look more authentic, but then again I'm slightly suspicious of all spoilers.

You think Isley knows anything about Raciela?

It's hard to say. When Riful confronts Isley, all he says to her is "It's too late."

But, Isley never gave Luciela the killing blow. Did he know what Rafaela did? If Rafaela merged with Luciela, she had to have released some sort of detectable yoki, enough that a nearby Riful could sense it.

Isley was near-death, so maybe he might not have sensed it? Priscilla should have at least, but would she have told Isley? Either way, Isley had to have known that he never fully killed Luciela, so he knew something must have been up.

Was it because of Raciela that Isley never moved in 7 years?

Here is a quick summary from Chinese Scan:

After Helen, Denev and Dietre finish the AB, and checking on the other 3 unconscious for injury, Helen ask D to keep their survival a secret. D refuses and said she is loyal to the Org and will not lie to them and would rather die then betray her own principle. Denev decide to let it drop and both of them started to head south while D chase after them from behind. Even though Denev commented that D's speed is only about half of theirs, her endurance is surprisingly high. They stop and ask her why she chase after them. She said the south has changed a lot since seven years ago, half the towns and villages were wiped out, and offered to be their guide and also speaks of a demon appearing in the southern lands. Despite D's warning, Denev and Helen continues on wards and arrives at a large town where they detect an abyssal level youki. They are guessing it is probably Isley since they know he defeated Lucilla. They want to go down to the town to take a look with youki cloak while ignoring D's objection and told her to stay in the woods since she cannot suppress her youki. With hood over their head, they wandered in the town center and saw Isley in tattered clothing. Helen was pressured to the floor by Isley's youki presence and Denev kneel down to hide from Isley as he is walking by. Isley ask them if they are ok and Denev pretend that they are sisters and Helen just injured her foot and replied in that manner. Just before Isley continue to walk, Helen was cut by something unseen through her right side and fell into a pool of blood. Isley turns around and said to them that they are useless and he already knew they are suppressing youki. Then he gets a crazy look in his eyes and declared to them being an eye sore to him and will turn them into ashes. Scene switch to Dietre in the woods hiding behind a large tree, in the woods with fog, a humanoid shadow whispered to him/herself - "The Demon is Back..." (End Chap 86)

I'm guessing that's not Alicia behind Dietrich. I suppose Alicia could have fully awakened and gone out of control, but there's no resemblance in that character. The only other possibilities are all even more intriguing. My guess is it's an Abyssal level Awakened Being either loyal/not loyal to the organization or, :heh:, a Dragonkin tracking down Isley as part of an invasion of the island. Just before Isley continue to walk, Helen was cut by something unseen through her right side and fell into a pool of blood.

No, it's Deneve who got cut. But thanks anyway! Now I know why Dietrich was following them:). Last month was pretty boring so it passed quickly, but I've no idea what to do this month.. Now that would be awesome.

I never thought of it being Alicia, but that does seem hard to believe because of the shape and appearance. I am just wondering if Yagi is planning on killing Deneve, Helen, and Dietrich.:(

One would hope they didn't die this suddenly. They are partially awakened after all...maybe Isley will miss if they push themselves over their limits in healing and speed. Or maybe Miria/Galatea have been following behind them this whole time, but I doubt it...

Yeah hopefully something wierd will happen and it will save them. Like Raki showing up with Priscilla! Raki should remember who Helen and Deneve are, or mabye Miria and the others that were left in Rabona will show up and save them, I can see it happening. I don't think Clare and her group will be able to save them becuase they are headed in another direction. Its hard to say what will happen to Dietrich, she looked scared about that thing that she was hiding from, she has to know how powerful it is.

This "Demon" guy looks pretty interesting. I'll take a wild guess and say he is one of the DoDs and was sent to the island for some reason (maybe on Rubel's request?). Of course I'm just throwing out random, (mostly) baseless theories right now. :heh:

He must be pretty powerful though.

looking through the Chinese scans has spawned another crazy theory. Maybe the Demon is the reason why Raki and Priscilla got seperated from Isley. Raki's training with Isley could have been going well, and while they were traveling to another town they run into the Demon. The Demon begins to attack them, and after a bit (of fighting), Isley tells Raki to take Priscilla and run while he distracts him. They do so, and Isley soon sees that the Demon is stronger than him, and manages to escape, the Demon pursues. Isley could be acting like this in this chapter because he is frantically looking for Raki and Priscilla, and the Demon has finally caught up...

Another baseless theory, but this chapter got my creative juices flowing again. :eyespin:

It's eye reminds me actually of the weak leader Yoma from chapter 2, and the general face of Rimuto.
IQn the start I thought about Irene but She would scate Dietrich so much only if she awakened and it doesn't seem likely, Raciella shouldn't be out yet, so that leaves no one we know...

One would think after introducing the Dragonkin in Chapter 80 we'd eventually get to see one. It only took six chapters (it sounds fast until you realize you've been waiting to see one in the storyline for half a year!)...

After all, didn't Yagi do the same thing when it came to hearing about an Awakened Being? We saw an actual Awakened Being within 10 chapters of them being first mentioned. Anyone else think history is repeating itself?

The problem here is that "thing" does NOT resemble a MIB very much. Its eyes and profile suggest nothing other than a Dragonkin! Go over to Chapter 80 pages 2-3 on Onemanga and glance between the two. The resemblance is there if you look for it.

I suppose it could be an Awakened Being, but isn't it a bit odd that they'd be introducing a new one powerful to hunt Isley BESIDES a possible "Raciella" at this stage?

I will say one thing; if that thing is in fact a Dragonkin, then the War on the Mainland may have finally come to the Island. No doubt, if Helen/Deneve survive to tell Miria, the Ghosts may end up mobilizing all of Rabona's soldiers and try to get Claire back ASAP for the coming showdown.

That's great guys, but shouldn't we be focusing on whatever the person/thing is behind Dietrich as well? I mean no critique, it's just that it appears that either the Organization has a new pet, their enemies have invaded, or Alicia has gone beserk and no longer resembles her old self.

I'm inclined to believe it's the Dragonkin opening up an invasion of the Island to deprive the Organization of its research abilities. After all, wouldn't that pretty much leave them screwed if they didn't have a place to do research? Perhaps Rubel was not informed of the coming storm or knew about it and said nothing...

I don't see Deneve and Helen beating Isley. I still think they are going to survive somehow and maybe we'll find out what Isley been up to for the past 7 years. He lost his pretty boy status this chapter though. The hair is a mess! Him going wandering around the south and destroying town seems contrary to the Isley we knew pre-time skip.

wow what a awesome chapter we have there ;D

my 2cents:
I think there is a good chance that Devene and Helen will survive this encounter. The dialogs in the chapter suggests that Isley was intentionally emitting large amount of yoki, which means he was trying to lure someone/something to him(probably the *demon*). Since the *demon* is just outside of the town now Isley might not finish off Devene/Helen as completely as he thought before confront the *demon* (or be confrontedby it).

I don't think it's the dragon kin as Rubal said a few chapters ago they don't want to destory the org openly because they'll just up roots and continue there research somewhere else they want to do it from the inside. And if it is the dragon kin why target Isley that just doesn't add up there's no point in attacking him.

My bets this is the run up to introducing Alicia & Beth back into the story.

That may be, but man, she doesn't look like she used to if that is in fact Alicia. Alicia didn't have a conscious self like that thing does. I suppose it could be Alicia, but isn't it rather odd of the Organization to have her going after Isley right now?

Or perhaps they know what's coming and are attempting to eliminate an isolated Abyssal One before Riful gets her pet or is killed by "Raciella"?

Well, people still get confused between raws and scanlations. It's no biggie, usually you can tell what they mean by using the context of their post.

But yeah,

Raw = The original Japanese material, unedited

Chinese Scanlation = the edited version with Chinese text (someone took the raw, erased the Japanese text, and inserted a translated Chinese text in it's place)

I also doubt that they'd send her to the South anyway, I'd think they'd keep her as close to HQ as possible to be used as a defense, otherwise they're completley open to attack from other enemies.

If it's like Hell suggests though, or a fully-awakened renegade Alicia, then possibly. I still doubt it though.

Well if they do then I for the life of me cannot figure out why the two with No 14 didn't switch into them as soon as Yuma knocked all three opposing Claymores out like rag dolls. It may be only the very top of the organization MIB are like this.

So basically we have several running theories (all of which assume Helen/Deneve will survive (dying this early would be pointless):

"The Demon" is:

A new controllable awakened being created by the Organization
A top MIB like Rado who has been assigned to secretly get rid of Isley (thus revealing the true nature of the Org to its Claymores via Dietrich)
A Dragonkin hunting Isley
A new, uncontrolled Awakened Being
Alicia or Beth in awakened form

Take your pick

Plus, what is the Demon's motive/mission?

Kill Isley for the Org since it is a secret soldier of the Org
Kill Isley for himself (Rado/MIB theory)
Kill Isley/Hunt him (Dragonkin theory relating to invasion of island)
Kill Isley because it was ordered to (Alicia/Beth)
Kill Isley to eliminate a rival (new, uncontrolled Awakened Being)

Pick your choices and say why, or provide your own.

Its hard to pick with the new demon, but I think Easly looks like he has been alone for a long time now and it might be getting to him. Mabye this demon has been hunting him for a long time and he is trying to stay away from it, mabye he told Raki and Priscilla to go somewhere safer because Easly knows of its power. Time also doesn't look like its been good to Easly either, mabye he is still human enough to know that living forever is sad and can drive a person crazy. Also at the end he asks Helen if she would want help, and Helen yells something like dammit! So mabye he is lonely.

Since Isley is as old as he is, maybe he was sent to the mainland to fight in the war and he and the Demon faced each other in combat. The fight ended (not sure how) and Isley somehow managed to return to the island. And the Demon is chasing Isley for revenge. Another crackpot theory. :p

I do believe we have a winner here for most profound realization I've seen in my time here.

I do not think, seeing as Dietrich is AVOIDING that thing, that it could be allied with the Organization.

Let's think about the strategic situation for the Organization for a moment:

They have lost No 4, a potential No 1
They now know there is a new group of fighters on the island powerful enough to escape Riful unscathed and have NO IDEA where they are...
They know that Riful might get a new Abyssal One as an ally
They don't have any idea where Priscilla is...
Isley is still wandering around

And they have, to our knowledge, only one fighter of Abyssal strength

If you were the Organization, wouldn't you stay on the defense rather than risk everything by going after Isley? After all, there is a chance Alicia might not win in such a case...

I don't think the demon thing is Alicia as Alicia's awakened form has an elongated neck and armored hair framing the sides of her face. The center of the demon's eye is most interesting as well. It could just be for dramatic effect, but the pupil is lighter than the iris; the opposite of an AB who gets gold cat eyes (or no eyes like Isley/Riful). It seems the demon thing is wearing clothes as well. That or it has some gnarly armor around its neck. Lots of talking in this chapter so probably some interesting info about Helen, Deneve, Deitrich and Isley.

Wow what happened to Isley? It looks so bad compared with the last time we see it!Maybe he was brainwashed by Raki after all! :heh:

Deneve & Helen show that the ghost are not yet prepared to fight AO!Thus i think Miata & Galatea are a must now to help them!If they to die now would be a sever blow to Miria.

I think that the one in the last panel is really a DOD!I'm not sure but Isley looked very scared or very surprised in the last picture with him.

Ok.Here what may had happen...far-fetched...

We have a war in the mainland...The OE put Rubel inside The ORG.Decided to wait....but The DODs troops know that The ORG make new better claymore thus a danger to their own species. They got impatient in the end and decided to take the matter in their own hands (without orders) and send a death team on the island!Meet with Isley and maybe even defeated him Isley just look so bad and in despair.Isley runed away but now is fallowed...

Another theory : Isley knew (from somewhere) that The DODs may descend on southern part on the Island and thats why went there with Priscilla to stop them seven years ago.But Priscilla went with Raki. And have to face the DODs alone.

The DODs are after Rubel!

If this guy is a DODs is surprising that neither Dietrich , Helen or Dneve and not even Isley sensed him even if he is so close. They may be natural good at supressing yoki.Another use for Miata since she can track\sense anyone.

MiataxGalatea usefulness has just tripled after this chapter in my opinion! :D

Miata's sensing skills are just a must now.Galatea's yoki manipulation may be a trump card against The DODs.Who know maybe they are vulnerable against yoki manipulation. In conjunction with how rare even among claymores yoki manipulation this may be true. They may be surprised at least for a first encounter with such a skill.

Full dialogue translated from Chinese scan.

Helen: Wow, just one hit and it's done. You're really something.

Deneve: To cover up for her weakness in size and weight, she cut the opponent into half from a great height. Looks like she has a lot of experience dealing with ABs.

(Dietrich sheathes her sword.)

(Later...)

Helen: So how's the status of those three?

Dietrich: It's all right. They didn't get any serious injuries. Everyone just lost consiousness, they will wake up very soon.

Helen: That's good.

Dietrich: Due to your care, we get to live, thanks to you. We show our gratitude.

Helen: We don't need thanks. But it's a bit inconvienient on our side. If you could keep the information regarding us a secret to the Organization, then we would appreciate it.

Dietrich: I'm sorry, I can't do this.

Helen: Ah?

Dietrich: I swore an oath of loyalty to the Organization never to lie. If I'm asked about this, I'll have to tell everything. But it's fortunate that I'm the only one who saw both of you, so if you do not want to let the Organization know, just get rid of me right here.

Helen, Deneve: !

Deneve: In order not to lie...you would rather die?

Dietrich: This is my way of living. Other than that, I have no idea what path I can choose.

Helen: (makes an exasperated expression) Wow, this is so problematic, she's such a brat. (to Dietrich) If we kill you now, what's the point of saving you earlier?

Deneve: Hmph. (sheathes sword) Forget it, just do what you want. It's already fortunate you didn't become enemies with us after taking down the AB.

Dietrich: !

Deneve: (leaving) Let's go, Helen.

Helen: Erm, yeah.

(Dietrich seemingly remains there)

(Later...the pair moving rapidly through the forest)

Helen: Hey, hey. This is not good, Deneve. What should we do?

Deneve: Ah...looks like the situation is becoming problematic.

(Helen and Deneve stop their sprint)

Helen: Damn, can't believe we can't shake her off.

Deneve: From her speed, it's looks like it's only half of ours. It's an impressive endurance.

(Dietrich arrives)

Helen: So...you want something, Miss? Have you changed your mind and decided to get rid of us?

Dietrich: After that, I have been thinking...if I have been kidnapped by you both back there, I wouldn't need to report to the Organization. Wouldn't that be done?

Helen: Ah? I have no idea what you're talking about. What good would it be to kidnap you?

Dietrich: You can just treat it like this. I'm just only following you both from behind. If you think I'm a burden, you can just kill me. But this Southern land has changed since 7 years ago. As for both of you who hid in the North, you would need a guide if you want to move forward.

Helen: ! How did you know?...

Dietrich: It's just my assumption. Whether it's true of false, both of you need not answer. I also won't ask.

Helen: Has changed 7 years ago...what changes have happened?

Dietrich: First, the Southern towns have disappeared by half. Second, I would advise both of you not to proceed south.

Helen: Wha...H..half? What exactly happened?

Dietrich: The true reason is not yet known. I just only know the present status.

Deneve: What is there from here to south?

Dietrich: I can't tell you too much details from my point of view. But I hope you will treat this as my truthful warning. From here to the southern land, there is something that appears which is called the "Demon".

(Later...Helen and Deneve keep moving, with Dietrich following behind)

Helen: But anyway, half's half. I wonder if half of those disappeared towns do include my hometown and Deneve's? Even if it is, we only confirm when we reach there.

Dietrich: ... I already gave my warning. You still want to keep going despite this?

Helen: We came here for this. Although we are not clear on details, we can't just be so thick-skinned to go back after a warning. And the "Demon" you talked about earlier, if it appears, we would naturally know what's going on.

(The trio reaches the outskirts of a town)

Helen: By the way, this town is giving out a mysterious strong yoki. More or less the same as Riful we encountered...

Deneve: Or it's above Riful's...the man who defeated Luciela of the South, Isley...

Dietrich: !

Helen: Ah, exactly. That person can be dubbed as the Demon. So what should we do next, Deneve?

Deneve: What do you mean "what should we do"?

Helen: I'm saying, if the town is still safe despite the presence of an Abyssal One, that would mean he's honestly waiting among the populace. (grins to Deneve) Don't you want to see the true face of that Abyssal One Isley?

Deneve: ! I guess you never fully take heed of Miria's warning, did you...

Helen: What...Don't tell me Deneve, you aren't interested, he's...

Deneve: (strengthens her muscles and clasps her fist) Don't be silly. That person is the AO of the North. Although we never confronted him directly, he was the mastermind of the battle in the North. To our comrades who were sacrificed, he's the biggest enemy.

Helen: Hey, calm down. I didn't say we have to battle here. The most we can do is to sneak a peek. Since we are hiding our yokis, that means he wouldn't notice.

Dietrich: Hey, what do you think you're doing? Stop that thought!

Helen: Ah, you should wait here. If there's someone beside us who's giving out the warrior's yoki, we won't be able to get closer. Don't worry, we will be back soon enough.

Dietrich: Wait, wait...

(Helen and Deneve are already gone. Dietrich stands stunned)

Dietrich: Such rash people...But if the other is an AO, won't he be not discovered if he hid his yoki...

(In the town. Helen and Deneve are wearing hooded cloaks)

Helen: This is such a bustling town. So many people, can't beleive there's an AO in this place.

Deneve: Be careful. Even if our yoki is hidden, our eyes are still silver. If our eyes meet with him, our identities as claymores will be uncovered. (stops) It's here.

(The pair keep moving, but soon their cloaks are shaking very rapidly)

Helen: Wow, what is this? Such an abnormally strong yoki. A normal person won't be able to feel anything.

Deneve: According to some people with sixth sense, they are more or less be able to feel it. Although they don't know what's the reason for it, they subconsiously won't want to think of coming here.

Helen: Aw, I guess this is pretty pitiful. It must be painful not to have eveybody understand him.

Deneve: ...This is weird.

Helen: Erm? What's wrong?

Deneve: I kept thinking about the AO, so I never think much otherwise...but this situation is really weird. Why is that person hiding himself in this town? I can't think of any reason he would revert to human form and hide himself. There's another point. Regarding what that person said earlier, "Abyssal One" isn't a word that is specially taboo, why would that person exceptionally use a different definition?

(A strong wind suddenly blows. A person, presumably a male in tattered rags moves towards their direction)

Deneve: (thinks) Damn...just not careful and we directly run into him.

Helen: (thinks) This guy is...Isley?

(Man continues walking)

Deneve: (thinks) No, we can't stop walking. By right he won't be able to sense our yoki. In his point of view we should be normal people... (to Helen) Let's go, Helen.

Helen: Wait...wait, my...my legs...

(Helen falls on all fours)

Helen: Urgh...

Deneve: !!

(Helen's sword is exposed. Deneve moves over to her side to cover it)

Deneve: (thinks) Damn... has it been seen?

(The man in rags moves and stops to their side)

Man: What's wrong? Injured?

Deneve: No...nothing...it's just that my sister's legs aren't that very good...

Man: Need my help?

Deneve: It's all right, I'm with her. Please don't mind.

Man: ...

(Helen breathes heavily and shakes in fear)

Man: Really, then take care of yourself.

Deneve: Yes. Thanks for your concern, we appreciate it.

(Man leaves. Deneve breathes a sigh of relief. She suddenly gets a wide slash that cuts her right side, and collapses)

Helen: D...Deneve! (screams)

Man: (turns around and faces them) A bunch of trash...What are you hiding your yokis for?

Helen: You...you bastard...

Man: Such sore eyes, go and turn into ashes now!

(Man deals out a slashing blow. Meanwhile... Dietrich hides behind a tree)

Dietrich: H...how...To happen right now, damn...

(A figure moves forward in the mist)

Dietrich: The Demon...has returned...

I must admit Helen&Deneve are more naughty than i thought.

Wow. Deitrich seems very cool (she'll be getting a fanclub) and what a chapter! The next issue will make for a very interesting new years read. I like how Isley offered to help :D. He's so nice.

Dietrich: The Demon...has returned...

To be continued...

I think it's safe to say that Dietrich may not be so loyal to the Organization after all reading this. She purposely tried to get herself kidnapped...wow. She must be a lot more interested in these two than she's letting on.

Wow. Deitrich seems very cool (she'll be getting a fanclub) and what a chapter! The next issue will make for a very interesting new years read. I like how Isley offered to help :D. He's so nice.

Nice and deceiving...what kind of guy offers to help and then attacks? I suppose he could be trying to make them into AB, but that blow looked like one aimed to kill, not to force an awakening.

I expect Helen may pull something out of her behind to save herself and Deneve. A fast "drill sword" might save her if she can pull it off in time.

Thanks Weils!
Well - this is going to be torture waiting till next year to see if Deneve and Helen live or not.
Frankly, their only chance is this 'Demon' to be strong enough to distract (or dare I even suggest - kill?) Isley (assuming the 'Demon' is not Isley himself, of course).

Yes Isley is very "nice"!.Does anyone had doubts about this after Pieta? :heh:

If Helen & Deneve die Clare will forget about Raki&Priscilla and go asap to chop Isley to pieces!Who know maybe if Riful fail with Rafaciela they (Clare&Riful) will join in order to "gang" on him!If not DODs get him before!

But Deitrich will survive? She is just next to the unknow AB\DOD? :upset:

This also make me think that no one involved in this chapter is so good at yoki sensing!Isley most likely find them suspicious rather than sensing anything!

To be continued...Wow, thanks for the trans Weils! :D

This is still a bit of an assumption, but I think I'm even more sure now that the 'Demon' is the reason that Isley looks the way he does now. :heh:

Complete kitty set? I guess I can see that, Miria, Tabitha and Dietrich all have female feline features in their faces.

But the complete milk, milk, and more milk set? Whatever do you mean? :heh:

As for Deneve & Helen, I like them both, but I am totally willing to sacrifice them for the integrity of the story.

It's been a long time since we've had any real deaths in Claymore. Actually, the last real deaths in the story goes all the way back to the battle at Pieta, which came out more than a year ago. I was getting worried that Claymore was getting a bit lovey dovey.

I mean, look at what Yagi did to poor Flora!

I doubt Dietrich is in any sort of trouble. The demon just walked right past her, since it's obvious that his attention is on Isley and the enormous amount of yoki he is emitting. Isley is baiting, and the demon probably could care less about Dietrich at the moment.

And well, I don't really understand. Why emitting such yoki? If the Demon is weaker and has a brain, he won't come. Otherwise, it's suicidal.

There is only ONE explanation: the Demon wants to eat the town but dares not since Isley is there ^^

Before the time skip, it seemed like characters were dropping like flies. Maybe we'll just sacrifice only one. Like Helen sacrificing herself to save Deneve from an Isley or demon attack. And Deneve crying next to Helen and saying "you fool, you fool!"

It'll be touching.

Thing is this can end in 3 ways

*Isley Dies by this "demons" hands

*the "demon" is a DOD and gets killed by Isley but signals the beginning of a invasion of DoD's (which would mean the org lost on the mainland if true)

*demon* and Isley clash and Helen, Deneve and Dietrich kill either the survivor or both while their weakened.

This could be interesting if proved Isley is a good guy (though his attitude during the pieta invasion makes it very unlikely) and spent the previous few years defending the island from DoDs.

Judging by Isleys face its not the first time his encountered this creature or creatures like it.

If either of them dies, the other is gone too. If Helen has time to weep, the whole thing starts to get the feel of Naruto and such. I'm not against such sentiment (especially while reading Crime and Punishment:( ) but I see no way it could happen without going against the flow of Claymore... And they can't die just like that, after everything. It's anti-climax.

@kenshin: Isley is a good guy all right. Yagi wouldn't put random comment like "this town is very crowded." People must gather for some reason, and taking into account the fact that the South is pretty much done, I dare say that they seek safety :)

I don't know. Isley doesn't look or sound like he's scared. He does have a haunted, worn out look. Like he's on the threshold of insanity.

Openly baiting the demon into town might be a desperation move, but he obviously has something meditated. If this demon really is the one who has destroyed half the South, the two could have been battling for a few years now, destroying towns here and there, and pretty much cause all Claymores like Dietrich to avoid the area completely.

If that's true then it must be tough enough to have survived Isley's best weapons. I imagine what makes Dragonkin so dangerous is their raw strength, but perhaps they have other abilities, say, like breathing fire?

After all, how would Claymores defend against such an attack? You'd need Awakened Beings to take on such a creature, thus why the Org is working on controllable awakened beings. Isley obviously has good ranged weapons, but I feel that others are probably right; Dragonkin probably cannot be detected via Yoki. But they might be able to detect it themselves!

My gut guess is that "Demon" is almost without doubt not a Awakened Being. The back of the head slopes backward sort of like the Dragonkins' heads do in chapter 80 pages 2-3.

So you're saying that perhaps he's trying to force them to use their Youki? In other words, is he not aiming to necessarily kill but to perhaps draw that "Demon" in even more?

Something very odd is going on with Isley...he must have either split with Raki/Priscilla over something or they were sent by him to find Claire...and find help against this thing. Could it be that's why Raki/Priscilla are only now looking for Claire?

It does seem odd that their search only began a year before or so when Raki's been wanting to look for Claire some seven years now. Of course the irony of possibly allying oneself with the enemies you thought you killed is beyond measure. Perhaps Isley will force the details of who they are out of them and not kill Helen/Deneve...I hope.

It is important to note what Deneve said. She said that it was never a taboo to say "Abyssal One".

If it was Isley who the Organization was afraid of, Dietrich would have said so. She specifically stated "demon" or "devil", not "Abyssal One" or "Awakened Being". And she said that she does not know any details. Just that a "demon" is in this land.

Isley did not destroy the South. This "demon" did. Whatever the MiBs know about it, they never told their high-ranking claymore in Dietrich. And Dietrich is an experienced AB hunter as well.

And who knows what intelligence and political maneuverings that Rubel has done within the MiB hierarchy on behalf of the OEs.

Alicia + Beth are not exactly successful as weapons. Successful for research, but not for extensive battle. The MiBs don't care about this island, why would they risk losing their research to save it?

It was Isley and his troops who razed the north seven years ago!I don't think he care about the south at all.

Since many villages and cities were destroyed in the south is normal that the survivors gather in the remaining cities.Isley need to eat and so he has to fallow his prey!No "good guy" who want to pretect the city!At best is to protect his food. But you can think to much about food when a powerfull enemy is just km away?

I'm going to hold judgment until I get my hands on the raw, but did Isley sense that Helen and Deneve were suppressing their youki? I think Isley absolutely could be a good guy in the end. I even think the MiB's could be good. If this "Demon" that destroyed half the south is what the organization has been preparing to battle for all these years then maybe their agenda is the lesser evil in the long run.

Isley hiding in a town is very interesting though to say the least. Especially passing as a human. Whatever Isley is doing, he has a reason to his madness; a plan for sure. The guy is smart and he takes advantages of opportunities like no one else we have seen in Claymore. He also manipulates the situations very well. The idea that he is in trouble is indeed worrisome.

This is just me, but whatever this demon is, I think that we will find hints about it somewhere in the story beforehand. Very little is sprung on us without foreshadowing. So whether DoD, MiB or whatever this beast may be I think this "Demon" has been introduced to us before. I hope somehow it ties into Teresa's story...

tenken627
2008-12-03, 00:28
I don't know if this devil is a normal DoD.

The Organization created ABs to counter DoDs, and were pretty successful against DoDs except for the fact that the ABs also killed allies.

So, if Isley is one of the strongest ABs, this demon has to be a really strong and special DoD.

Maybe not a good guy to us, but there's something very odd about hiding in human form among "delicious" humans and yet not having eaten most of them.

I think Isley asks why they are hiding their Youkis simply because hiding one's Youki as a partially awakened being/AB/Claymore doesn't matter to this Demon.

My guess is the Demon has ways, like Miata does, of detecting such people without Youki. Isley certainly isn't bothering to hide himself when it comes to Youki. Since he's doing that I can only assume the Org no longer concerns Isley very much, except as a nuisance.

He is probably trying to kill the two of them as Organization spies rather than simply for the joy of it.

About Isley being a "good guy" :

- eat humans;
- he razed the north;
- send his camarades to die;
- he lure a DOD WHILE IN A TOWN.

I can think that Isley is running around baiting the DODs.They go after him...find a city...destroy a city...keep after Isley! The fact that The DODs didn't moved towards the north\west\east show that they are quite bound on killing Isley!

Thanks for watching out for us. For us to survive is all because of you two. Thank you both.

4.
No need for thanks. But because it will be a little inconvenient for us, it would be great if you can keep this secret from the organisation.
I'm sorry I cannot do that.
Huh?
I've sworn loyalty to the organisation and will not lie. I will not lie if I get asked about this.
But fortunately, I'm the only one who has seen you both. If you don't wish for the organisation to find out about you, you can finish me off here.

5.
!
To not lie... you'd rather die?
This is my way of living. Apart from this, I don't know any other way out of this.
Woah.. this is messy... this is a brat. If we kill you now, then wouldn't saving you earlier would be a waste of effort?
Sigh.

6.
Forget it, do what you wish. I'm already thankful for the fact that you didn't turn on us after killing the awakened being. Let's go, Helen.
Mmm, ok.

7.
This isn't good, Deneve. What should we do now?
Ah... this is getting a little troublesome...

8.
Sigh, can't believe we can't get rid of her.
Based on speed alone, she's only half of ours... what extraodinary endurance.

9.
What now, Miss. Changed your mind and decided to come for us?
After that... I thought to myself... if I got abducted by you guys there, I wouldn't have to report to the organisation. Wouldn't that be a complete solution?

10.
What? I have no idea what you're talking about. What good would it be for us if we abduct you?
Just take it like this, I'm just following behind you both. You can get rid of me if I get in the way.
It's just that the lands of the South has changed so much compared to 7 years ago. For those who have been hiding in the North like you two, you'll need a guide if you wish to advance.
! How did you know...
I'm just guessing. Whether it's the truth or not, neither of you have to answer, nor will I ask any further.

11.
Changed so much since 7 years ago... what exactly changed?
Firstly, one half of the towns in the South have disappeared. Next, I would advice you not to go to the South.
What... one... one half? What happened?
It is not clear what exactly happened. I only know the present status.
What is present.. from here to the South?
I can't provide much details from my point of view, but I hope you can treat this as my advice to you both.

12.
Something called a "monster/demon" has appeared from the land of the South.
Back to the topic...

13.
Half.. one half... I wonder if the half that vanished includes my home town and Deneve's. Even so, we have to get there first to know.
... ... I've already warned you. You are still going despite this?
We are going because of that. Although we are not clear about the situation, we can't be that thicked skinned to turn around based on a word of warning. Besides, as for the monster you were referring to... we will naturally know what exactly happened once we get there.
!

14.
For that matter, this town... is filled with a mysteriously strong source of yoki. It's similar to that of Riful we've met earlier...
It is to say it's above Riful's...

15.
The one who defeated the abyssal of the South... Luceila -- Easly.
!
Ah, exactly what can be referred to as the so-called monster... What should we do now, Deneve.
What do you mean "what should we do"?
I am saying, if there is an abyssal one residing in the city so peacefully, he must be in his human form and waiting.

16.
You want to see the human form of an abyssal one.
! I say, you've never thought about what Miria said...
Deneve, don't tell me you're not interested. After all, he's...
Don't be sprout nonsense, that fella was the abyssal of the North at that time... although we've never faced him directly, but he was the mastermind behind the battle of the North. To the comrades who were sacrificed in that battle, he is the greatest enemy.

17.
Hey... cool down, I never said we'll fight him here. At most, we'll sneak a peek secretly. Since we our yoki is hidden, he wouldn't notice.
Hey, what do you think you are doing. Hold it.
Just wait here. If there's someone by the side emitting a warrior's yoki, we can't get close enough. Don't worry, we'll be back soon.
Wait wait wait...

18.
What reckless people. But if he's an abyssal one, won't he hide his yoki and not be discovered...

19.
What a busy town - with so many people. I can't imagine an abyssal one in this place...
Be careful. Even if our yoki is hidden, our eyes are still silver. If we come face to face, our identities as warriors would be exposed.
It's here.

20.
Woah, what is this. Such unnaturally strong yoki. Normal people really can't sense this?
People with a keen 6th sense should be able to feel it... although they won't know the reason, they would avoid coming here.
Oh, that would be pitiful... people won't be able the understand the trauma he's going through.

21.
... ... Strange.
Hmm? What up?
I've been thinking about the abyssal one and hence forgot... a situation like this is really strang. Why would that fella hide him real form in this town? I can't think of a reason why he would hide in his human form. And another point... regarding what she said earlier... "Abyssal one" isn't a word that is especially sensitive. Why would she use another term?

24.
Shit, we've carelessly come to face with him.
This person is... Easly..!? No musn't stop. Under normal circumstance, he shouldn't be able to sense our yoki... To him, we should appear as normal people... Lets go Helen.
Wait.. wait a moment. My.. my legs...

25.
Ooh.
Shit.
Have we been seen...?

26.
What's wrong? Injured?
No... not at all... my sister's legs aren't very good, so...

27.
Do you need my help in anything?
It's ok, I'm right beside her. Please don't trouble yourself.
......
Ha ha ha (breathing)
Really, watch your health then.
Yes, thanks for your concern, really appreciate it.
Sigh.

28.
De.. Deneve
WAHH

29.
Useless... hiding your yoki for what
You... bastard.
What an eye sore, I shall turn you to ashes.

30 - 31.
Wh.. What... in a time like this... damn.
The demon is back.

About Isley being a "good guy" :

- eat humans;

In his direct business with human, all he did were:
_Trained Raki
_Prevent Priscilla from destroying a city.
End.

- he razed the north;

There must be some reason... you'll see. And Priscilla had already destroyed the North.

- send his camarades to die;

They killed people!

- he lure a DOD WHILE IN A TOWN.

The Demon was nearby for a while, if it wanted to go in it would've done so.

I can think that Isley is running around baiting the DODs.They go after him...find a city...destroy a city...keep after Isley! The fact that The DODs didn't moved towards the north\west\east show that they are quite bound on killing Isley!
Why does he need to bait the Demon while it were after him? For what? The only logical conclusion is that Isley was after the Demon. But if it feared him, wouldn't emitting yoki be counter productive? Thus, the only reason for such action is to prevent the Demon from destroying that town. :D

And when I see "I won't forgive him" from Devene, I see luv :heh:

Then we should have seen MIB have some more combat skills against Yuma. It would seem folly not to train them if in fact they can awaken. Especially since they would then be a useful backup force.

Personally, the MIB getting smacked around by Yuma hurts the theory in my eyes. Would you have a way to explain how such a thing is possible if your theory is true?

Isley can easily emit yoki in the forest as well as in a town.
He fought with Luciela on open ground rather than South main city.

Anyway i said that Isley is a "good guy"...not TRUE EVIL straight!

If he really wanted to he could of killed Deneve , besides going by that theory look at the way Miria and co treated Clare during her first AB hunt lol, they'd be considered "bad guys" considering at first they wanted to leave her die.

That kind of blow that Deneve took would kill almost anyone. That was a pure killing blow. Basically almost slashed the whole right-side of Deneve's torso off! A strike like that was meant to kill.

We've seen ABs die from less.

Hey,..you are talking about Yuma here. Yuma is the strongest out there!

She got the Yuma punch or chop and the kung fu kick.

But Flore survived a similar strike from Clare (during their sparring session) , Clare survived a similar strike from Miria. There's plenty of examples where what seems like killing blows aren't killing blows. Isley being over a 100 years old would know how to kill and not to kill.

And ye, that blow is undoubtly lethal, good thing was Devene who took it. But still, I don't think they'll die. Devene and Helen are not cannon fodder :(

Note that he was not particularly aggressive. Only after he knew they were warriors. In the past, he was too proud to bother such trivial stuffs as Helen and Devene were nothing to him. So, that blow is pretty much out of hatred toward the Org or warriors in general... Hmm weird.

maybe not to that degree but in chapter 55 page 18, the amount of blood coming from Flora certainly isn't a light strike and would kill a weaker half-yoma.

I kind of figure those to be slashes, but not an actual slice that splits the body.

Isley actually surprised me. It seemed like he did that move without moving a muscle. Very "Quicksword" worthy.

To be continued...

Thanks for translation :). As for chapter, very interesting indeed. I wonder why Isley would slash them in the open? He lived among them didn't he? Does he intend to kill everyone, suddenly after Helen and Deneve arrived? Or will he explain that they were demons or sth and he killed them for their protection? What's interesting he went after defensive warrior first and we don't know if he really slashed Helen or not. But if he wanted them unconscious wouldn't it be easier to hit them with his fists? That means he really wanted them dead or injured at least. But it would be quite disappointing if Helen and Deneve died so early and suddenly. And who's this demon? Isley in his human form? This face we've seen is just a contour (I think), he might be anyone. It would be strange if it was some new opponent (unless he was DoD or sth). But if he was and even Dietrich knew about this demon why would Riful never mention about it? Her only concern was Priscilla, has it changed? And is it confirmed that Isley was the strongest "old" Abyssal?

Edit: I know who the demon is! It's Rubel. Without his glasses and hat he's irrecognizable. But he's bald. That's him for sure ;).

:D Great Chapter. I'm definitely in Dietrich's fan club. It would seem like Helen and Deneve maybe the two most troublesome of the Troublesome Three. I mean really, sneaking into town just to catch a peek at an Abyssal One? At least, Clare has a reason for her insanity. I don't think this is the end of Helen and Deneve; I think it maybe more the ending for Isley by said Demon. This is good news for Riful for Isley being offed decresses her chances of being offed right away. Now Dietrich is the conscience -- that little voice, the little angle on the shoulder -- that Helen and Deneve just ignore. :D

There is only ONE explanation: the Demon wants to eat the town but dares not since Isley is there ^^

That's a good posibility. :) I'm glad ya here to think of it. It could also be that the Demon is stronger than Isley and Isley, Helen and Deneve team up. I still think it is possible that it is the end of Isley, since we don't need him and Riful for the story.

Gangsta Spanksta

I don't know. Isley doesn't look or sound like he's scared. He does have a haunted, worn out look. Like he's on the threshold of insanity.

Of course he's haunted and on the threshold of insanity. I mean he lost his loli to Raki. RAKI! He's been spending all these years asking himself: "What does Raki have that I don't?" I mean ;P It's Raki; he cries a lot, and now he's some dumb muscle headed warrior with the IQ of a shoe. Teach a man to fence, and he'll steal your girl. :frustrated:

And he's above Riful :D, thus King

Well that's just Helen and Deneve guesstimation. We all know that Isley is weak against lolis. ;)

As for Isley being a good guy, well, you can't judge these Abyssal Ones and Awakened Beings by human standards. He is responsible for a lot of death. He has back stabbed his comrades in arms -- the people who looked up to him as a leader, his fellow warriors. Interesting enough that you try to counter that argument by saying that they were killing people, when it was Isley ordering them to do. Abyssal Ones do have a lot of honor. Riful is a girl of her word, which might be why she was extra pissed when Clare tricked her with her word. Isley does have a lot of honor too, but lets not kid ourself into saying that he's a good guy. Abyssal Ones are a shade of grey. They're not evil nor are they good; they have their moments of each.

Did Helen's legs give out because she was afraid or Isley's youki? When did Isley figure that they were Claymores? Ahhh. Real Raws come out to Plaaa~y!
That would be strange since she hasn't even twitched when she faced Riful in her awakened form. Even though she was suppressing her youki I don't think Isley's human form could appear bigger than Riful's awakened, but that;s just a guess. Maybe Riful really is so skilled at suppressing youki...
Anyway it's really strange she fell on the ground. Maybe he probed Helen in a manner similar to Galatea's manipulation (to check if some masked travelers aren't potential enemies) but since he is so strong Helen couldn't take it?

Gangsta Spanksta
2008-12-03, 03:00
Maybe Isley manipulated her Yoki, causing her to stumble? These are Abyssal Ones we're talking about, and I feel lately we've been taking them too lightly because Priscilla outshines Abyssal Ones. BTW, the whole DoD thing, well, what if the organization had captured an DoD and been using it to test how well it fares with Isley? It must be a very powerful one though, an Abyssal DoD? The org could have even caught it when it was not but a babe, which would explain how they were able to handle it. This chapter sure is opening up a lot of new possibilities.

Based from the raw... maybe, (just maybe) the person with Deneve and Helen was not actually Easley at all. The slash that hit Deneve was actually the arrows from Easley who was near Deitrich at that time. Easley was actually aiming to that person but he had actually evaded it.

The demon huh... if he/she's that powerful to be called demon, how come he can't even detect Dietrich when she's just behind? Or does this means the end for Dietrich next chapter? Though I doubt Yagi would kill off such a popular character... erm... on another thought, it's not like he never done it before...

Maybe Isley manipulated her Yoki, causing her to stumble? (...)
I just wrote that didn't I? I deliberately used the term "similar" because every claymore has different characteristics, i.e. even the same technique differs and manipulation can be used in many ways, for example we can't be sure whether he forced Helen to kneel or just caused youki overload which she couldn't take ;).

Changing subject: on p.18th Dee said that they might not find Isley because he could be suppressing his youki but a while later they said that this town is filled with extremely strong source of youki that belonged to Isley. Is she retarded, deaf or sth else? Maybe she thought that there is another such strong being nearby and what they feel might not be Isley?

I must admit, Dee is one of the best looking claymores in manga but her idealistic personality annoys me. One perfect Galatea is already too much and now we have another. MiB bring up "their" children better than anyone could and for that reason alone they shouldn't be destroyed. If they looked after all children we would have Utopia in no time.

To be continued...

Thanks Weils, this is my page by page translation.

1.
Wow, done so quickly. Hats off to you.
To make up for her strength and weight, she jumped and used her height to cut her opponent in two. Looks like she's experienced in dealing with awakened beings.

3.
How is it?
3 of them... are fine. Not seriously injured. They've only lost their consciousness and should come to soon.
That's good.

Just compared those translations to the raw and they're pretty accurate. Only part I would turn around is Dee saying "if you're dealing with an abyssal one ... even if your yoki has disappeared/is hidden, will that be enough in order not to be discovered?". Maybe I'm wrong, but at least Isley clearly isn't hiding his yoki ^^; Anyway not a very important part.

Dee seems to be a really nice and honest girl. And her hair looks like Luciela, that's a plus :D

Also the person in the city and the demon are clearly different people. Eventhough we don't really know which one is easly. The demon's face also looks a bit similar to Isley in awakened form.... maybe xD

The funny thing is I don't think Deitrich is naive or idealistic. I think she values honesty and her word. Unwilling to sacrifice her honesty and lie to hurt the girls who protected her she chose to leave the organization and follow them instead. She is serious that honesty is more important than her life as going against the org is known to be death. She just wont lie. Very interesting character point, and not one I have seen much of. If anything she seems very aware of the world around her and the intentions of others both friend and enemy. She didn't go berserk on Helen or Deneve for trying to knock her out. She knows what telling the truth would do to Helen and Deneve. I think she has a decent handle on reality, she has just chosen to never lie in almost a religious context.

Helen falling over is very interesting to me. Gooral has an interesting idea about it being Isley who forced her to the ground. Though Isley has never shown much skill at youki sensing. At least not as much as Riful. He could not sense Priscilla's power until she cut his arm of. Though maybe Isley has become much better at youki sensing since Priscilla has masked her own presence. If there were anyone to practice on, it would be Priscilla. And Isley looks pissed.

the demon at the end was in a human form. I believe that might be an awakened being since we dont know if DOD's have human forms. For a monster it is actually small (i.e lets say i was mistaken and that was in its monster form when Dee saw it) then it would be about priscilla's awakened being size. Another possibility is tat the MIB tried making another claymore from teresa's flesh and they ended up with that.

I completely agree, Dee is not like Clarice. Clarice is the one I'd call naive and idealistic ... and slow XD Dee is just honest, but pretty down to earth and seems quite intelligent (and quite well-informed). I suppose something happened to her that causes her to chose death over lying.

I'm most interested in why she knew about Deneve and Helen, seems like the org knows a bit more about Miria & Co. now.

But there is really no way the "demon" won't feel Dee right next to him behind that tree ..... better not become a fan of her too soon *remembersFlora* ^^;;

Erm...some ppl speculated that the "demon" might actually be the dragons-warriors from the mainland and some suggested the "demon" to b the awakened Irene. I favor the latter. Isley, as we all agree, seems really stressed and is in the verge of losing his sanity. I think it could b that the "demon" was fighting Isley. They are very comparable in power that Isley finds the odds do not favor him in a long drawn battle and has been avoiding the "demon" so hiding in a town was the temporary solution. Fight or Flight, Isley has to stay vigilant at all times facing a strong foe and that could explain why he seems very uptight in the chapter.

Onto why I think the demon could be Irene. Remember when Irene told Raphaela that she might stand a chance against her if she had both her arms intact? Raphaela, as we all know, has power equal to a number one (Luciela) who became an abyssal one. If Irene is to have a chance against Raphaela, does that not imply that she has the power of a number one? Irene knew, right away, that Raphaela, who has her yoki sealed, was not just a simple number 5 so i believe her judgment to be pretty accurate; if she surmised that she might stand a chance against Raphaela in good condition, I choose to believe her. Irene might have always had the strength of a number one but Teresa's existence was her obstacle to claim the top spot. Plus all the years of her hermitage, she might have trained hard and grow to be a lot stronger than she used to be. If we accept all these for the moment (regardless of the lack of strong evidence), we can agree that an awakened Irene (who has comparable strength to Raphaela and Luciela) can effectively be a threat to Isley. We do not have clear evidence that Irene was killed by Raphaela so her awakening and escape from Raphaela is probable. Isley marched south, battled and killed Luciela and eventually run into the awakened Irene, who poised to be a threat.

There are holes in my theory though. If the demon was an awakened being and not a dragon warrior from the mainland, how could Deneve and Helen fail to detect her enormous yoki? The failure of all the 3 claymores (whom as we all know are pretty powerful warriors) to detect the slightest hint of another awakened beings' yoki is not too convincing. Unless, of course, she hid her yoki really well like Riful.

as a side note, I do not think that Isley is being portrayed as a stronger being than Riful. Isley was ready to battle the "demon" any time, he was not concealing his yoki like Riful so his full-fledge yoki running wild and scaring Helen is entirely logical. I think Riful's yoki can be just as scary and strong if she releases her yoki preparing for a tough battle.

It is also possible that Isley was the one who wanted Priscilla to leave with Raki. If the "demon" is a dragon warrior from the mainland, it might be very powerful that even Isley was not confident that he could win if a clash occurs. Letting Priscilla go might b his way of protecting her. Well of course these are all merely my personal speculation. Anyway, please discuss! :heh:

If the 'demon' is not a Claymore/youma then it's possible that it can't sense youki at all.

I too would be interested in knowing what events brought Detrich to only tell the truth. Jean had a simmilar mentality with her honor and life debts.

If the Demon is an AB then it certainly would detect Deetrich. But if it is not youma-based then it may not be able to sense her. Though why Isley would be putting out so much youki in that case I don't know. A mystery. This reminds me of when Miata/Clarice were fighting Galatea and the chapter ended with a scream and we had to wait a month (full of crazy speculation) to find out that the scream was Agatha. (Lol, Cyclone beat me to it again :D)

What if the Demon is an AB from the main land? The island research started a century ago, but there were AB's before that. One thing I was always hoping to see was the offspring of an AB (the equivalent of D or Blade) but who knows. I know, it's Orochimaru. Oh wait, err Freeza. Blast... who could it be?

Edit: Just reading 85 again. Man, Helen's trick she plays on Higher-Than-Thou Deneve is awesome. Deneve just needs an excuse and expects one so she can do what she want and yet retain her dignity by blaming it on Helen, and Helen knows it. Awesome.

If Awakened Irene was as strong as you say, then why did no one notice her awakening? The presence of another near-abyssal level would be something of note.

Yeah it is weird that the demon didn't notice Dietrich, and Dietrich somehow knew exactly who it was. So was it Youki? if it was than how come it couldn't notice Dietrich's Youki? Most interesting will be if she recognized him from his looks...

In one of the other chapter threads I examined that Irene quote. IIRC, Irene was correcting Raphaela, but I don't sense she was saying her own opion. It was more like (this is all paraphrased from memory):
Raphaela: "I you had an arm, you could do something"
Irene: "You mean to say, that maybe if I had 2 arms..."
I just got the impression that Irene did not think she could win even with both arms. Irene said it more to recognize Raphaela's power rather than commenting on some scouter level that she could have matched or anything like that.

Besides - an awakened Irene would be too sad. Let her rest in peace.

I think this demon must be something else. If it's AB then Dee would just call it AB. Why did she has to call it demon? This should be related to Dragon kin. The Org might already know this and came up with this definition to hide its true identity from their warriors. IMO

@Cyclone: I rather her alive and well XD... Anyway this line is from the anime, in the manga she said something like "Why did you stop at this rank when you are so strong?"
After seeing Raphaela again I think the chances she spared Irene got much higher.

It just doesn't make sense it been a dragonkin as soon as the ORG found out about it they would have packed up and moved there research somewhere else makeing it even harder for the dragonkin to shut it down, so haveing a dragonkin running amok in south is counterproductive and theartens all they've already worked for.

I would agree if the org has airplane. I don't see why they have to immediately move when their base is still in a good shape and stable. But who knows? They might already do that. We still don't see Alicia&Beth right?

I would agree if the org has airplane. I don't see why they have to immediately move when their base is still in a good shape and stable. But who knows? They might already do that. We still don't see Alicia&Beth right?

This demon may be something else but I don't think it's just a very strong AB. May be it's an ancient Yoma or Lucy's haunting soul. :twitch:

Thats the point the ORG isn't stable at the moment there's been small clues in the last 8-9 chapters that the ORG's in deep trouble like loseing there eye/letting a incomplete hybrid into the ranks and Dietrich's underpowered AB hunt it all points to the ORG been in trouble.

The funny thing is I don't think Deitrich is naive or idealistic. I think she values honesty and her word.

Nope, she's not naive or idealistic at all. She's one of the most level headed Claymores that we've seen so far, maybe moreso than Miria even.

Unwilling to sacrifice her honesty and lie to hurt the girls who protected her she chose to leave the organization and follow them instead. She is serious that honesty is more important than her life as going against the org is known to be death. She just wont lie.

Well this may not be exactly true. She's suggesting that she willing to say that she has been kidnapped. Which isn't being exactly honest, even if she convinces Helen and Deneve to take her along, which she then says I just follow along, behind. That is a bit of self delusion right there, depending on if she really meant it or not. It is a good question on whether or not she really plans on returning to the org now. If she returns and claims that she has been kidnapped, so much for honesty. If she means that she wants to make it look like she has been kidnapped when her fellow warriors wake up, and never plans on returning to the org, seeing that she owes her life to Helen and Deneve in a similar fashion as Jene then that's something different. The only question then is, is she still self delusional, or is it part humor on her part. Somehow, she doesn't seem like the delusional type.

Edit: Just reading 85 again. Man, Helen's trick she plays on Higher-Than-Thou Deneve is awesome. Deneve just needs an excuse and expects one so she can do what she want and yet retain her dignity by blaming it on Helen, and Helen knows it. Awesome.

It's not really a trick if Deneve expects her to do it. Like in the last chapter, she got mad when Helen didn't give her the excuse to act like she wanted.

It just doesn't make sense it been a dragonkin as soon as the ORG found out about it they would have packed up and moved there research somewhere else makeing it even harder for the dragonkin to shut it down, so haveing a dragonkin running amok in south is counterproductive and theartens all they've already worked for.

You're assuming that it is not the org's Dragonkin. I don't see it as too unlikely as the org, kidnapping a baby Dragonkin, raising it, and then testing it out on Isley. I assume that unlike ABs, DoDs reproduce.

can someone pm me a link where the raw/chinese scan of chapter 86 can be found?

just Baidu the word Claymore, and it will be link #1. :P Geez, people are so lazy asking for a PM. ;) I mean the chinese scanlation was up, as soon as I heard they were out.

---

Now about the bit about the Demon being Irene, I think some people just want Irene to be alive in some way. I've not been sold on this way out there theory yet. For one, it doesn't make sense for Raf to let Irene awaken and then get away like that. Raf would've been on an AB hunt if Irene would've awakened most likely. Irene also doesn't seem like the type to purposefully awaken. She's the logical type, and would know that awakening yourself kills the you that is human and the result is a you that is a different person than who you are now. Ah curse Existentialism! :heh: Anyway, if you want someone to believe that theory, then you're going to have to develope it, and explain it better. It is too quirky at this point of time.

@Cyclone: I rather her alive and well XD... Anyway this line is from the anime, in the manga she said something like "Why did you stop at this rank when you are so strong?"
After seeing Raphaela again I think the chances she spared Irene got much higher.

I don't quote from the anime [only the manga]. Fine - you made me look it up again:

Raphaela:
I heard you lost an arm, but looks like you lost both.
That's too bad - bad luck.

Irene:
No - you should be saying something more like: "if you had both arms, [maybe you could do] something", right?
With that much strength,
Why do you stay at number 5?

Great chapter, but damn another 1 month of torture.

Is this against the rules?

Can someone post a link of where to buy a time machine online?

Those trouble just happened recently, I think. So it's still too soon to decide and this is not just an ordinary R&D dept. It's a military R&D with an army. I don't think it's good to leave the base when the situation is still vague. Well, it would be easy if the org has airplane. :p

I forget to mention that it's good to see that Dietrich didn't believe in Helen's story about being a secret agent in previous chapter. :heh:

This chapter remind me of what Riful had said "He's not at all as kind as me" Like Rigaldo, Isley isn't hesitate to tear his opponent's body. :uhoh:

Now I really want to know who's this demon and does Riful know about all this mess?

I think Ilsey was fighting with the monster. He had allot of yoki left, so am guessing the monster ran away from him. look at the monster cloth, it's all torn up just like Isley cloth.

I don't think Deneven and Helen are going to die. Helen has some super escape move she is going to use to escape with Deneven.

I think there is a 99% change that the monster is Dod. Why? Isley is looking/waiting for him in town, Dee hiding from him, but they are so close.

I think Dee is just like Jean. She wanted to go with Helen and Deneven so she made up some excuse to go.
Edit: Dee not lying is questioanble at this point, as pointed out by Gangsta. Helen lied to her, so she might just be returning the favor.

Edit: Isley don't like it when people play with his food. Dee mention that many villages were wiped out. If the monster destroyed the villages then that would explain why Isley is after him.

Yagi is evil. we have thee cliff hangers.
1. Renee and Riflu
2. Is Deneven or Helen going to die?
3. Is Dee going to die, and what is the monster?
We have to wait another month, and maybe we might just get an answer or the story might turn to what is happening with Miria.

BTW, as far as spoilers go, the last few ones to be true all had one thing in common. They end with something talking about next month issue. :D Hopefully the fake spoiler guys don't pickup on that.

We almost can't browse the forum without seeing a spoiler.

By the way, Deneve can't die. Deneve simply can't die:(:(

Yeah, but he's not that evil. :D There is a difference between a Cliff Hanger, where the next episode is full of action, even if there is a scene switch, then one where there is a scene switch but things slow down. :P This web comic I read just did that a few episodes back, ;) and that was such a letdown. At least, I'm looking forward to the next chapter of Claymore and it has been that way for awhile, consistently.

Well, Claymore is almost 2/3 finished. The story is picking up speed, and with it splitting in 3 different ways [Clare, Riful, Raciela split] [Helen, Deneve, Isley, Demon split] [Raki and Priscilla split] and possible [Miria, Galatea, Clarice split], there is bound to be a lot of cliffhangers at one time.

If one of Helen and Deneve had to die, which of the two would you want to survive?

BTW, if someone wants to download pictures quickly and has Firefox installed I recommend BatchDownloader (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3104). After pictures are loaded right click and use "download all pictures", click OK and there.
When you've downloaded them I recommend viewing them in Picwalker (http://www.tucows.com/preview/366765) or CDisplayEx (http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdisplayex/) (although I really recommend first one.

Anyone thinks Helen might partially awaken to escape from Isley? She has to do something drastic if she is going to survive. Something like what Clare did in the north. She has seen Claire do it many times. The only problem is there is no one to pull her back. Maybe Dee might be able to help her come back.

There is no hope for a rescue, Isley does not look like the type to play with his victims.

Ok, maybe the monster might show up just in time so they can escape.

If one of Helen and Deneve had to die, which of the two would you want to survive?

If I had to choose, I'd chose Helen, because she has a bit more personality and is somewhat crazy. These last two chapters also had some nice facial expression from her. With that said, I think Deneve, if she had to die, deserves a better death scene than that. I personally think that Isley is more likely to die soon than those two though.

Edit:

Besides, how is Deneve going to carry three swords? :D
