Two series of web shorts.

One based off of the official gag manga, "Suzumiya Haruhi-chan no Yuutsuu", which takes the characters and cranks their personality traits and flaws up to eleven. Hilarity ensues.

The other is based off of what was originally a fairly famous doujin 4koma series, "Nyoro~n Churuya-san". Most fans of Haruhi will probably have heard it already...

It's very hard for somebody who knows how to sing on key to sing off key--it's like intentionally trying to write illegibly.

Some say it takes someone with real skill to intentionally do something wrong...repeatedly and the same way each time. Goto singing off key as Mikuru intentionally is one example. Rie Takana singing off key as Yomi in Azumanga is another example. Haruhi shoves a lit firecracker into Kyon's hand for him to use as a weapon. Meanwhile, a small pickup or flatbed truck comes bearing down upon him, probably driven by Arakawa or some other Organization member because, let's face it, who else would intentionally run over Kyon in a motor vehicle, given that Haruhi doesn't drive? Kyon manages to toss the firecracker away in time (resulting in the fancy fireworks that can be seen from the SOS-dan room), but gets run over by the truck, suffering only cartoonish damage.

I LOL'ed when she started singing that. That's Paradise Lost, the OP for Ga-Rei Zero, sung by Chihara Minori. I only just started to watch that series, having finished the latest manga chapters. Great song, great series. Go watch it.

Yuki's way of showing emotion at the end of a naki-ge (think Kanon, Air and Clannad) is to stare at the window outside.

Though it's still quite subdued, compared to her counterpart in the original, this Yuki sure shows a lot of emotions.

Episode 6 ought to be renamed "The Melancholy of Nagato Yuki-chin".

I have finally got caught up with all the Haruhi-chan and Churuya-san episodes. Although the comedy material in Haruhi-chan and Churuya-san is great, the animation area somewhat lacks mainly because of budget...

The most part, these web series aren't that bad at all... and Episode 6 of Haruhi-chan seems to be the most humorous (with the cosplaying contest, stack of eroge visual novels, and also Achakura) and hopefully keep me though until Haruhi 2 comes out.

The two eps are pretty much the reason of this halt. Usually, the second episode of the two would normally air these days. Since it already aired, we have to wait a bit longer. I presume the next ep is going to come out next week.

Except for the Taniguchi-as-Oni part, this is pretty much how Haruhi celebrated Setsubun (coming-of-spring festival) in book seven ("Intrigues"). Yuki treating Achakura as a doll is cute too!

I was thinking that he'd be intelligent enough to recognize that the existence of gay men is beneficial for men because it decreases competition for women, but the existence of lesbians is detrimental because it means fewer opportunities.

It's a very unusual perspective for a male to hold, but it's the sort of view I could see Haruki holding. He isn't just a hot-blooded fool, after all; he has Haruhi's intelligence.

Haruki wouldn't be as jealous as Haruhi because he has typical male behaviours overriding his jealous nature.

Haruki also isn't particularly good about sharing...especially if he's lead to think this goes beyond hormones and into a certain mental sickness. As long as he thinks it's just fooling around, his libido will overcome his natural territorial nature when it comes to Kyonko. He'll be indignant, but mostly turned on.

He'll probably be satisfied resolving the situation simply by making sure Kyonko is aware, that first times don't count if it was with another girl (1st base you sicko's :nono:). He'd make sure to vigorously give her a first hand experiance to drive this point home...he'd probably end up doing the same to Itsuko.

He'll be pissed if he thinks there's anything going remotely related to that 'mental sickness'. Haruki may think romantic emotion to be bunk and if people want to pursue it, fine. But that doesn't mean Kyonko get's to indulge in it.

I'm pretty sure that this was explained over on the Kanon forum at some point: There's only one Kyon. The events of Haruhi are taking place inside of Ayu's dreamworld, with being split between Haruhi (because the fall really messed up her head) and Mikuru (her good half). Holy crap, this set is quite amazing.

Best Nyoron episode yet, was funnier than some Haruhi-chan which I've been thinking is more entertaining.

Episode 11 somehow reminded me of the valentine choco episode of Minami-ke Okawari. Tsuruya-san also wields masterful techniques of Hokuto Shin Ken - HYAKURETSU WRAP!!!

Ashakura I guess she really transformed from a yandere to tsundere.

Episode 12 is probably the best episode, ninja meidos = win. Miwaku no General Person - Empty Cloud and Kurenai no Super Ball - Shooting Moon, I literally dropped my jaw the entire sequence.

And Mikuru's crying, my God, that was the cutest thing I've heard in a long time, I've seen lots of videos today, this part of episode 12 was the most amazing thing I've seen.

Kyon is so mean.

First Kyon discards all Churuya-san's smoked cheese in her itinerary. (Causing her to go "Nyoro~n")

And then he had Churuya-san win a golden smoked cheese from Mikuru the fairy, only that the gold is too hard for her to bit. (Again she goes Nyoro~n)

Finally, when shooting down enemies yielded her a smoked cheese, Kyon deliberately dodges it. (Nyoro~n again)

Even Taniguchi was asking "Why the hell did you dodge that!?" And Kyon only replies "Beats me." :heh:


Haruhi-chan 13: Haruhi worships a new Halloween demi-god. Though again it's the Achakura moments that steal the show at the end. Poor Yuki, how will she continue her otaku life with Achakura destroying her laptop? :heh:

Haruhi-chan 14: This time Haruhi goes into a balloon war with Kyon in order to commemorate the "late" Mikuru (who still insists she's still alive). Gotta love the end where Haruhi forcibly pops all the balloons on her.

I wonder if Yuki intends to use these balloons next episode? Perhaps it's to play pranks on Achakura instead?

And speaking of cliffhanger, whatever happened to the expected duel between Tsuruya-san and Mori-san at the end of episode 12?

Cliffhangers are either resolved within two minutes of the next episode or not resolved at all.

In Haruhi-chan, there is no plot. There is only lulz.

Yuki will do something with the balloons which will result in more gags of Achakura/Yuki.

There's the green balloon animal in the OP not introduced yet. Yuki will create him from the balloon and it will become Achakura's new companion.

I do wonder who's going to voice it? Shiraishi is the best I can think of now.

It's a comedy series, so anyone's misfortune is rewarded with laughter. Mikuru just happens to be the designated buttmonkey of the series, and thus gets most of it.

I found it down right hilarious when Haruhi says to kyon "Thats no the face of the main character." Each episode just seems to get better and better. Kyon went into scare mode this episode.

The rest of the cast has been bribed to keep her from doing so. I guess it is called doing something for so long that you forgot why you are doing it.

Or it could be more like a domesticated dog and cat. The dog chases the cat...maybe it will catch the cat, maybe it won't. When it does, it doesn't know what to do with it half the time, since the instinct says basically, "its running, chase it". However it can be short circuited. Sometimes the cat will chase the dog for a while. I have no idea why (aside that they seem to be having fun), just that they do.
