Forget about the last thread I made here and this time even more complicated than that, it has nothing to do with yaoi/yuri anymore. To those who watched them, please tell me that my opinions about the shows are true or not. If I were right so I don't have to waste my money buying their DVDs or time to download them.

1. Mobile Suit Gundam 00(both seasons)
I am a big fan of Gundam Seed but not Seed Destiny because of the rumors surrounding it. At the same time when I was watching Clannad last year, I was interested this show too but only one big barrier keeping me away from it. It had pretty boys. Yeah, I know Seed have lots of pretty boys too but at least it had pretty girls too like Cagalli, Lacus , Fllay and Mariyu and they have more important roles than some of those pretty boys. As for 00, there are lots of boys that can be mistaken for girls and I have bad feeling about it. It is the perfect recipient for some yaoi. Don't get me wrong, yaoi fangirls. I don't like yaoi doesn't mean that I hate gays. In fact I found some gays in non-yaoi anime and real-life are better than those so-called "gays" in yaoi shows. Enough about gays, I found its animation quality and some action scenes are better than Seed which makes I couldn't stop thinking about it.

2. Chaos Head
While I was interested with its pretty girls but the blatant use of violence and gore as cheap gimmicks surely this show never get into my watching list. This may also the reason why I stay away from Higurashi series too. Think about what School Days did last year and I hope this show may never follow that crap(yes it is, I mean School Days) to Hell.

3. Antique Bakery
Yeah, I knew it has some yaoi undertones(or overtones) but I found this one, at least less "disgusting" than Junjou Romantica. While I'm not a pervert but lacks of girls may kill my mood for this show.

4. Sekirei
God, an ecchi series. While I can accept To Love-Ru but this one just over the top. Too many ecchi scenes will deter me away from it just like yaoi shows. It just the same thing anyway, fanservices. The obvious difference between them is orientation. For me fanservices are like sugar and spices did to food. Too little of it your food is rather tasteless but too many of it will ruin the food. So does fanservices to anime.

5. Ouran High School Host Club
Even it is already in my drop list but there still good chances that I may bring it back to the watch list. After many oppositions from its fans, I decided to to challenge myself watching this show again because they claimed I stopped watching it too early and so I missed many best of it. Even though romance and comedy are my favorite genre(outshing yuri) but some unwanted "gay" jokes, lack of decent female characters besides Haruhi herself and Renge(the girl who only appeared in one episode anyway) , and ultimately Tamaki himself( I already explain why I hate him many time before) are the greatest barriers. I hope I may wrong someday. There are lots of bad thing awaits if I were right.

1. Molbile Suit Gundam 00-the characters all have their pasts and stuff like all gundam series do however aesthetics shouldn't be much of a reason to not watch the anime(though in some cases animation of the anime can be horrid). The series is so far good, though there is a touch of exaggerated fantasy(beyond mobile suits) than previous gundam series and gundam is just trying to throw romance-mixing most likely couples so they don't leave all the lovin to the main protags.

2. Chaos Head-yea this show has good animation quality as well as well as popular character types, though the main protagonist is extremely irritating in his actions and voice. Personally i think the reason to watch this is if you're fond of the females in this anime however the anime overall is pretty dull-it makes no sense nor contain interesting/addicting plot. Its overall unique but in a bad way

3. Antique Bakery-never seen this but i think its targeted for yaoi viewers

4. Sekirei-this is a popular ecchi series, and imo To Love-Ru is MUCH more focused on ecchi than sekirei. This anime atleast has a solid plot and doesnt just throw in random stuff every episode like To Love Ru. This series IMO is MUCH MUCH better than To Love-Ru.

5. Ouran High School Host Club-I dropped this too after 10 episodes(yea i watched that many since i was bored) wasn't appealing as much since it just goes around letting you get to know every character now and then, threw in some little comedy that makes you laugh or not, and i guess a touch of romance if you want to call it that.

1. Gundam 00: It has high production values, but Sunrise is not very good at writing thriller/political drama type stuff. It starts out seeming like it'll be a serious political thriller with moral ambiguity, then starts going for "OMG which side got the new, game changingly powerful mecha this week" and "I swear I've seen this before" character subplots. Most of the fan of this show for me comes from laughing at the WTF twists the writers pull out of their asses - which actually makes it a lot of fun to watch, and something I look forward to every week. Note that I haven't seen much of previous Gundams, so my impressions may be different from those of other fans.

2. Chaos;Head: I'm not sure where you get the impression the violence and gore in this are cheap gimmicks. Actually, there isn't much gore in the show period from what I've seen. Unlike Arkuatic, I actually liked the plot in this one, since it kept me guessing for a long time as to what's been going on, and the action scenes later in the show are actually rather unique. As a warning, however, this anime has a lot of mind games in it, and in parts crosses the line into mindscrew territory. Some of the girls are very cute.

3. Never seen it.

4. Watched only the first episode. From what I saw it's essentially a "girls with big boobs get into fights" type of show. Although I watch the occassional ecchi show, this one didn't seem to offer anything particularly special and I'm not big on girls with exagerrated bust sizes anyway, so I dropped it despite liking the previous works of the studio animating it.

5. Ouran High School Host Club: I didn't watch any further than you did, so no comment.

Since you have put a lot of your time to explain the issues with what you plan on watching and since I currently can't play Persona 4, I will spend some explaining it to you. :)

Gundam 00 (both seasons: If the reason why you are afraid of watching Gundam 00, because you are afraid of seeing homosexual relationships, then fear no longer. There is NOTHING of the sort. In fact, I find it odd that you had such suspicions to begin with. It is true that one of the Gundam Meisters, to be more specific.. Tieria Erde looks very feminine and in one of the episodes, he even dresses up as a girl to dance with Ribbon Almarks. Apparently, both him and Regene Regretta are clones made with enhanced genes capable of enabling them supernatural abilities and enhanced capabilities. However, this has nothing to do with what you suspect. The story is mainly about the clash of terrorists, the military, and Godlike entities. There is an indication of romance in it: AllelujahxMarie, LockonxFeldt, and SajixLouise. And there is Setsuna F. Seiei trying to avoid having a romantic relation with Princess Marina and/or Nena Trinity.

Chaos; Head: I dropped this anime after watching the first episode, because I don't like the protagonist at all even though the overall concept of the anime reminds me of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, where the female protagonist Maya would go through a lot of troubles to take down a problematic figure in the shadows. Unlike Maya, the protagonist is totally unlikeable. This anime may be considered as dark, but still.. Nothing compared to Persona 2: IS+EP though.

Antique Bakery: This anime, I didn't even bother to watch the first episode. The protagonist and his spouse are both men. It is generally a "slice of life" anime centralized on the homosexual relationship of the two male main characters, who both jointly do a bakery business. And that's about all I know.

Sekirei: If this show wasn't produced by Square-Enix, I would have dropped it. For now, it is on my "on-hold" list. I was the first few episodes a few months ago. This is generally an ecchi love comedy with a twist of supernatural power clashes. All the female characters possess supernatural abilities of a destructive nature, but... The story is about the Sekirei (all female) finding a male to form a contract with, sort of like a pact or more specifically, a partnership in which the couple has to take down other couples and win the one and only prize, whatever that is. Any couples that leak out this confidential contest shall be punished by men in black or other couples. Sekirei must kill other Sekirei to prevent them from finding a male contractor and beating them to the race. That's a gist of it!

Ouran High School Host Club: I never watched this one. It is pretty much a "slice of life" version of Neo Angelique Abyss that does not feature sci-fi or deity elements. It takes place in a modern high school, unlike the latter that took place in a semi-ancient place. This anime can be considered as "reverse harem" meaning that a single girl trying to win the hearts of good-looking boys. The overall concept is somewhat similar to the best-selling DS visual novel, Tokimeki Memorial: Girl's Side - 2nd Season.

I hope this explanations will help you decide what to watch and what not to. (^_^)

Shadow, there may not be any explicitly gay relationships in Gundam 00, but there is some "bishounen in flashy outfits" type stuff, and there's a couple points in the show where Teiria and Lockon seem awfully... close, regardless of the fact Lockon has his sights set on a girl. That's why people say the show has strong yaoi tones to it.

I personally don't complain too much about it because I totally dig it when the flashy outputs and overtones are applied to female characters. It would be a bit hypocritical of me to complain.

After looking on your suggestions up there, I decided to put both Sekirei and Gundam 00 as 'plan to watch' list. As for Gundam 00, there is nothing like I thought before like some yaoi stuffs. However I'm not going to put too many hope on both to avoid disappointment when watching but that may not going to happen soon.

As for Antique Bakery and Chaos Head, its better to stay away from them as most of my impression seems to be true. I am obviously not the target audience of both shows.

As for Ouran High Host Club, it is better for it to stay in my drop list. Even Tamaki don't exist in first place, I still have another big barrier which I need to get through, lack of decent female characters. I peek's my sister's Ouran manga and What I feared becomes reality. Renge(who did appeared many times later) and Haruhi are the only decent female characters ever existed in entire story. Others are nothing more than retards crazy for the guys. However they seems pale in comparison of female characters in all male-oriented shows like Renge is bossy type(who often becomes pet peeve in most other shows) and Haruhi is a living zombie. This show is the most disappointing if its not the most overrated.

The thread still open as anyone still not agree with me, which is a good thing in this thread.
