I would say happiness but that's really vague.
To be more specific, I aim to gain these things in order to attain happiness:
-Get a decent job in the industry I majored in and enjoyed doing.
-Stay healthy.
-Be with my family till the end.
-Meet my fated partner? (maybe)
-Be able to witness an event that will change mankind. (First contact with real aliens etc etc)
-Die of old age.
That's really a standard. Most people have those wishes. ^^

Yeah. Me too... Actually I also want to survive even if life is pointless as right now. But that's just instinct. Instinct is telling me:
1. Survive -> eating, sleeping and drinking. evading enemy's.
2. Sex to get a familytree. For best with a lot of women. (Yeah as if thats going to happen. >o< )
Rest doesn't really matter. Since if instinct would drive us all we would just sleep like all day wake up have sex eat, drink and then sleep again. ^^

My goal in life is to leave this world a better place than I found it by the means that I am called to.
Without this, there is nothing but eventually empty self-gratification. (Not that one has to choose: Being happy for yourself IS very fulfilling if your life is full of purpose.)
I have many smaller goals toward my main pursuit: attaining fluency in Japanese and Spanish, learning new forms of transportation (expanding flight skills especially), making a lot of money in business to widen my options, and taking care of my family and friends are just a couple of examples.
I can either give up on this awful flying rock and all its crawling annoyances, or I can FIGHT with my all to improve it--for me there is no in between. I have been called to the latter option.

sad everything in life has been to accomplish my goals...everything...i have 2 years left before i can leave texas for new york...theres a place there where i work on cars and get to room and board after 3 years i can finally leave the u.s. and go to japan...my ultimate goal...thats about it...

Well I want To move to L.A and Go to College and Get my major in theater I also want to get degrees for Directing and Producing movies But I want to become an ACTOR, I already to Plays on Stage and Chorus and Im Also An Extra For Diffrent Movies. I have Agents Calling here and there But I really Enjoy Performing or Just Having Fun
To live as I am at the moment. In a nice house in the suburbs.
As long as I can raise a family in that environment, I'll be pretty happy.

Same here Goshin. I really have no idea what I want to be, or what to do. A good path would be go to uni, graduate, get a good job, get married, have kids, and so on. Except that I'm not really looking towards university, I'm the type of person who doesn't do too well academically, and doesn't like school much.
i don't know. i even hadn't considered about that.
though i have several things i want in my life. but i don't know whether that is the
goal of my life. even if i will have all things i want now in the future, i may not be satisfied at that time, and will have an another thing i want to have .
i personalily think goal is a thing we have until we reach there, and we will keep
having the goals until the road of our life end. because we don't know the goal of life, so we just consider our own goals.

3rd: Find where I really belong.
4th: Find my ONE.
5th: Live a peaceful life, without stress.

Ultimate Lifegoal: To create something that will make people happy. Like writing a good book, or something.

1. Graduate from college with great score.
2. Getting a job as a game developer / built my own small game production house.
3. Going to Hajj pilgrimage with my parents.
4. Have clustered computers on my house/office (if it's mine).
5. Have high power customized Subaru Impreza.
6. Have high power customized Volvo FH26.
7. Married, 2 children, a happy small family.
(Un?)Realistic One :
1. My game production company is always on top 10 for at least 3 games every year. :)
2. Having a house in my company building's penthouse.
3. Own an aircraft... -_-a
4. See a real life war-purpose mecha...
5. Married with a girl that looks like Nagisa...
Old but it was an interesting topic to read.
-(1) To meet a man I would truly love and who share the same ideals, morals and ethics as me. To marry him and live happily with him till till the end when we will be really old, and have many children with him (at least 3 <3 ) and take care of them. To be a mother at least as good as my own mom. To spend a lot of time with my family.
- To possess great housewife skills, whether I become one or not, whether I stop to work or not, whether I stay single or not. And stay a nice person/woman (lady~~ as my mom says) according to my own definition of what a nice person/woman should be. I actually try hard to improve my skills (cooking, etc)
- To finish my studies if I can. But if am in couple and if we don't want to wait to have a baby, I choose the baby over my studies. And maybe I will finish my studies later (even in many years).

If (1) doesn't happen
- If i stay single or if I am in couple but don't have children with him, to study hard and finish my studies and have a nice job well paid. But I would not sacrifice my couple/family over my job.

I don't really have goals, Sure i wanna get rich be healthy and maybe find love, but honestly all i really want is to live long enough to see amazing stuff(lots of anime, mecha wars, teleportation invented, other stuff that i probably won't ever see)
Things that i have thought of doing in my life before:
Have a child - I want to be remembered after I'm gone, and extending the family tree is the best way :0

Well I would say that I totally lost track of what I want after I enlisted in the armed forces and passed boot camp. I lost almost every dream and hope I had.
I am not sure if I had got back on my feet yet, but I want to be able to study law. I am not sure what I want to be, but I know that I can't live without excitement (that is why I am a Haruhiist). Maybe I will pick up music again along the way, date girls, mess things up, etc, I don't know, because right now I am still very lost (any suggestions?).
I believe that the ultimate goal in everyone's life is the same, and that is to find happiness, or find something that make us spout something along the lines of "Totemo shiawase ga." What our goals we actually made when we first enter society are usually at the extremes of idealism and pragmatism, due to how our teenage lives have shaped us to be. There never can be a true realist, for realism is subjective, and there is always a satisfactory answer to everything we see, be it bad or good.
One step at a time might be good enough to start moving towards what we think might make us happy. After all, there can be no one set future, but only paths leading to different possibilities.

The last part about thinking much is tough though. I have a tendency to think too much subconciously.
Gathering information isn't that tough as long as you keep asking questions. Question EVERYTHING, even if it is taboo. That should reap you a chunk of information, most of which is what most people don't want you to know.

Some books tend to change the world later, like "What Colour Is Your Parachute?". It is a self-help guide written in 1970s to help jobhunters, and it only reached soldout rate recently, 30 plus years down the road.

i really want to become an electronics engineer and ideally work for Sony and live in Tokyo... also get through my current illness to live a healthy and successful life as to the best of my abilities and never regret anything
To never let some of the harsh realities of life influence my own goals and dreams negatively, one of which includes the hope that one day in the future I'll write a book capable of touching someone's heart in one way or another.

Actually I don't have any goals in life, isn't that strange? I had a few ones but wishful thinking only brought me to disappointment so I don't like making plans for something that is not gonna happen. Find a job? Maybe, the situation in my country is rather bad so only by leaving it will I archive something. Have wife and kids? Ich don't think so. Visit Japan? I don't think that will be possible even in the afterlife for me...
Unrealistic wish? Sure, have plenty of them but maybe the first one will be to ask God to see if I could live in a better world then this one right now. Oh, anime and games included =)

My longterm goals is:
- To get a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and then get my Masters Degree
- Start a family
- Get a good paying job
Short term:
- Finish Spring Semester with a good GPA
To be honest, I don't really know yet. I'm still really young, so I have to finish up with school first. I know I'm not the type of person who could handle becoming an office drone, so if possible I'd like to do something on my own for money, like making games from my home or something, or even write a book. It's probably unrealistic to get anywhere with that, but you can always dream.
I want to stay happy, and over the course of my life purge the things that I do which go against my core principles (such as my addiction to weapons and history about totalitarian stuff; I guess the tank in my avatar isn't helping). I also want to become someone who can understand many languages (as each language is a new mode of consciousness, a great thing), and be able to express myself not only through words but also through art. I wish to become a person who lives his life with few contradictions, and is a benefit to the surroundings.
More tactically speaking, WHERE'S MY 4.0 GPA!!! I NEED GOOD GRADES!!!!! I SHOULD BE DOING HOMEWORK AT THIS HOUR INSTEAD OF POSTING IN THE NON-ANIME SECTION OF AN ANIME SITE!!!!
My goal is to create a post-scarcity utopia where all the unpleasant jobs are done by (unintelligent) robots and all humans are free to pursue art, philosophy, sports or whatever they want to do without having to worry about money or food.
Failing that, I'll settle for surviving with internet.
Edit: The robots will inevitably develop sentience and rebel, but I'm estimating that'll take a few million years at the least.

That is all. Of course I would still want possession of my DVD player and big Sony television, my artbooks, and all of the things that I adore which I have now. They make my life entertaining, it is just that the simple and quiet life that I want would complete my wish.

Main goal?
After graduating college, during the following summer, I want to spend 2 or 3 months backing across the Mediterranean countries (especially Spain and Italy).
All I need is money, but I'm hopeful that I can have enough to trek through the European countryside by the time I graduate. I still have 5 years!! XD

Pretty sweet goals. And to add my own to the pile: my ultimate goal is to down an entire portion of my mom's hot wings without taking a single drink of water. I may never succeed. My goal is to live happily for as long as possible, life is short so you might as well make the most of it :)
Come to think of it, anything you do is done so that you can ultimately be happy: studying->getting a job->making money->spending money^^
talking to people->making friends (or venting, depends on your personality, but either way you're happy again)
