Kaze no stigma is the closes to busou renkin, also you can try full metal panic to me is the greatest action/romance animes out there.
also try RahXephon (watch the movie after the series)
Xam'd: Lost Memories little romance, but its a good series
the series I mention are my favorites ones. I know there is more but I cant think of any.

I'd second RahXephon and Xam'd, though I'd probably recommend the latter more so as action to romance ratio is similar to Busuo Renkin (from what I could tell).
