From what i have seen, main charaters are either heterosexual or homosexual, i really cant think of any bisexual main characters in any shows that i've watch besides kannazuki no miko, or may be haruhi suzumiya, where the main character is a bi.

anything that fits the bill (i dont mean bi characters as some side characters even if they are named)

Paradise kiss. The main male character labeled himself as bi.

Motoko Kusanagi, the protagonist of Ghost in the Shell series is bisexual.
Unfortunately, the anime version downplays this part of her character, and only hints it.

Uhm there's no doubt she's interested in lesbian sex, the manga leaves no doubt about it, but i really don't remember her having even kissed a man. Apart from explicit sexual behavior she doesn't show any kind of affection and seems pretty much oblivious to any kind of romanticism.
I might be wrong here it's just I don't remember anything that would make me think she's bi, I'd be glad to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Read the manga again, she's got a boyfriend in section 1. ;)
He makes a brief cameo in 2nd GIG, btw.

In Simoun, the way gender works means that basically every single member of the cast is either bisexual or potentially bisexual. Then again, gender identity is one of the most important themes in the show, so that's pretty much a given.

And of course Utena...
Pretty much the entire cast of the Utena TV show is bisexual. There's some room for interpretation in the TV series, but it's still pretty clear that almost all of them have slept with Akio (including both leads).

In the movie, it's even more obvious that the leads are bisexual - leaving no room for ambiguity. Then again, gender identity and preference in Utena is a pretty nebulous topic that the director really likes playing around with.
It also helps that both of these shows are extremely good - Utena being one of the best anime ever made - if you can stand its weirdness and quirks, that is.
