View Full Version : Valkyria Chronicles - Requests for new threads
Since the Valkyria Chronicles forum is limited (only Mods and Admin can create new threads), this thread serves as a way to request a new thread to be created.
Please post here if you wish to request a new Valkyria Chronicles thread. Please bear in mind that we will only accept reasonable requests, we wish to maintain the focus within the forum and cut down on the noise (so no pointless threads cluttering up the place).
Don't forget that you may still post in existing threads as usual, the only restriction is that you may not create new threads within this particular forum.

I think we should wait until there is more to talk about. As far as the anime has shown, there really isn't much... Especially for the bottom two. It might be a different story for the game players, but since the character threads are for the anime...

Character threads for the first three is pretty much a given, so those will be created (tomorrow ... as i am falling asleep on my keyboard here), but i agree with Serenade on the other two - better to wait a little bit with those, as anime only watchers wouldn't have much to discuss at this point, so likely would end up as spoiler galore, courtesy of game players :)
Speculation thread would be nice. Of course, one for game players and people experiencing the story for the first time. :)

A World History on the VC universe or a thread on the Empire or Gallia would be nice.
As much as I would like to have an Atlantic Federation one, it would only be based on info from the game and artbook.

I do agree with more character threads. Max and Selvaria are representatives of the Imperial army.
The problem really isn't whom they represent, but if there is any amount of significant exposure worth talking about, which is not the case for now. More character threads will have to wait a bit; will put up the general character discussion thread meanwhile.

Perhaps the history of the Darcsens and Valkryies are fine too.
That's not a bad idea. Can you do a short write up on each of the three nations (please avoid spoilers), and post it in this thread?

It depends on which thread are you referring to and what type of references. If it is an anime-only thread such as the weekly episode discussion thread, then the reference will have to correspond with the material covered in the anime thus far. Anything beyond is a spoiler. If the thread title has tag to indicate it contains spoiler, then any sort of reference can be made in it. If a thread title has no tag what so ever, then any references beyond what has been covered in the anime needs to be put under clearly marked spoiler tags.

The Principality of Gallia, located in between the Atlantic Federation to the West and the Eastern Europan Imperial Alliance to the east, is known for its neutrality with the policy of universal conscription among its nationals to serve in the Gallian military and its richness in ragnite ore.
Its capital is located in Randgriz, with the government being led by a Prime Minister and the throne being led by the House of Randgriz. Its currency is the ducat.
A union nations in the eastern regions of the Europan continent under the East Europan Emperor. It is known by all informally as "the Empire".
Its origin is traced back to the Industrial Revolution, when ragnite was harnessed as an energy source which resulted in the creation of many east Europan nations. There are, however, joined by a network of marriage among their royalty.
The Empire holds customs dating back from medieval times, including a strong hatred for the Darcsen people for the "Darcsen Calamity".
A union of West Europan democracies created during the Industrial Revolution, they are known informally as "the Federation".
Thanks to the Industrial Revolution and with the discovery of ragnite, many west Europan countries underwent many revolutions that resulted in the creation of democractic states. A Councilor is the head of the Federation, though there are rare agreements with the Federation's members.
It is rumored that alliances were gained by blackmail and secret agreements.

Pretty much. As long as it doesn't cover any deep, dark secrets later on in the show, the background information doesn't have to be restricted to the anime material. So things like how the militaries are structured, the kinds of governments the countries have and so on.
If the background material is really spoilerish like:
Hans is actually God, and he's the one who put all the ragnite in Gallia. :heh:

Only if there's a lot of detailed discussion about the armed forces or about military strategy and the like. For now, it can all stay in the same thread.

From our previous episode, I think it'd be pretty safe for us to add character topics dedicated to Maximilian and Selvaria.
Therefore, I'll request those two topics be made. Also, make one for Faldio, since he's seen a lot of screen time by this point.
I'll be starting up a new thread for Favorite Character in a few hours. If there are any characters that you want to see in the poll, please give me a list in this thread.

Any discussion on the Drama CDs can go in the Music/Drama CD discussion thread (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=80828), and any discussion of DVD extras can go in the Merchandise thread (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=80824). If the DVD extras turn out to be more substantial, like an extra episode, then it can receive its own thread.

I might be a bit late to this request party, but I figure it couldn't hurt.
A "Gallia: Modern Combat" thread is in order, in vein of the Gender-bender threads. Where we can discuss modern takes on VC.
Seeing how Valkyria Chronicles 2 is coming out in exactly 1 month, and how the first episode of the series aired a little over a year ago, I thought it would be nice to post a "one year later" reflection on both the game and the series. Personally I just finished the series, and think it would be interesting on how people thought of the series/game now that it has had time to settle down on their minds.

It's probably a hint early for the thread, but I'd like to let a mod know that Valkyria Chronicles 3 has been leaked and will be announced on Thursday. If a thread could come for that either now or then for discussion of same, I'd be greatly appreciative.

I don't think a thread should be necessary right at this time. After all, we can't say for sure that this is another Valkyria Chronicles game. We have no conformation of what's going on. Until we have a much more defined view of what's going on with the future of VC, stuff like this might simply have to go in the generic discussion until further notice.
After all, we don't know if this is going to be VC3, a new season of the anime (which, I think it most likely) or something else entirely. So, let's just wait until Thursday before we jump to conclusions. :)

What about a thread where we could discuss various characters and their potentials?
I'm particularly interested in asking other fans if they were a character in Valkyria Chronicles, what class would they be, what perks/potentials they would have and why?
I'll definitely second any kind of character discussion thread. I thought a lot of the characters (especially the side characters) were the most interesting part of the game, and I think a thread for discussing them would be great.

At least, in my mind, a character discussion thread would be to discuss any canon character in the series. Not for creation of or importing of characters.
If those who want to do that really do want to, then they should request a thread that caters more to that need.
However, there already is a character discussion thread (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=81118) which probably should be leveraged for talking about characters in the games and their potentials and whatnot, I think.

Hello, I was hoping to have a thread created to inform fans of the Valkyria Chronicles franchise regarding efforts being made by a group of fans, called the Gallian Liberation Front, to convince Sega to either publish an English-language version of Valkyria Chronicles 3 or to hand the game over to another publisher, such as XSeed or NIS America, to localize for an English speaking audience.

From what i have seen and read, it's just a strategic cardgame (with 3d graphics for the battle scenes, but otherwise it's pretty bland) for the browser (and later for the smartphone ) with the characters from all 3 valkyria games
