hm long time for i started an thread.
Do you guys/girls also think that counter-strike multiplay game is still an great hit for action person shooter?? Well I do. But sinds 1.6 came out i didnt like it to play much counter-strike however I play it only when I got nothing to do
Is that so by everyone that that's why CS is so an big hit. To do something if you have nothing to do?

I play CS 1.5. I hate Steam. I think Steam is a big pile of steamy crap. Thing always has issues with my computer and it loads slower than hell. Personally CS is great for me 'cuz what beats going around with a pump shotty and unloading it into someones face? The new versions of CS that have come out are kinda lame though. They didnt really change how the game was played or anything they just made the maps look different, threw in some new guns, and made some new character skins. Diehard 1.5 player baby OH yAh!
why do so many dutch people play CS :twitch: i don't like the gameplay and the old graphics. It's only fun when i use my aimhacks wallhack etc :p There are so many new FPS that are way better take my favorite game now "enemy territory". it's free and the gameplay is great there are loads of things to do in each map :)

CS is only fun for me when everyone's not cheating and working as a team. It's hard to find teamwork on public servers though. And if you think it's only fun when you use aimhacks and wallhacks, then yeah, CS is not your game.

still a great game, the only reason the graphics suck is because its based on the half-life graphics engine.
anyway, when hl2 comes out there will be a newer cs with better graphics.

Hm...I play CS on Xbox Live. Its a blast playing it online. BS can be so much fun. :p :D

I can't wait for that to happen. Counter-Strike will always be popular. Its one of the most seminal games ever made, for free. Actually I like 1.6 better than 1.5. That new shield kicks soooo much ass (but other people say it's cheap, but whatever). Galil has become my new favorite weapon (it used to be ak47). It's like the MP5, spray and pray, but with 35 bullets and it shoots through wall. Nice. The warcraft 3 mods in 1.6 are awesome as well. Plus there's too much rampant cheating in 1.5. You know what I did? I actually altered all of the sounds in CS 1.5 and before (especially footsteps) and made them 3 times louder. So I hear people coming clearer and farther away than other people. Since the files were exactly named and sized as before, but just louder, it was undetectable. But still I got banned plenty of times because people thought I was wallhacking :( . Oh well, can't do that anymore in 1.6...
i feel that 1.5 was the best version, i just don like additional items such as the shield and the weapons, IMO a DE will settle everything .

Do you mean the bending? If you do, then I don't get it. It's a lot more realistic then other games. If you don't, then I don't know what you mean :p

As of a few months ago I am officially done with CS except for botplay or LAN play. All of the following make CS their bitch:

Sven Coop
Unreal Tournament 1
UT 2004
Enemy Territory
Soldat
Doom
Duke Nukem 3D
Wolfenstein 3D
Return to Wolfenstein
Jedi Knight 2
Quake 3 (which isn't even half as good as any of the above)

CS is fun when i can do the bunny hop or whatever it is called ... the jump, last time in DE_DUST i can reach the center of the underbridge in 8 seconds ? wow ... too bad they got the jump bug fixed
ahh yes
but the last time i was in singapore, most of the Lan centers there still had it enabled
bunny hoppers were amazingly easy to pop though

aww man, CS is still as big as ever. If you're any good, try to join a clan. I'm in a clan (it's all local, my friends). It's fun when you get competative. It never gets boring when you really have to use everything when you play (like strategies, sound, sight, and of course coordination with your team). It's pretty fun.
I admit though, at the lan center we went to last weekend, half an hour of Battlefield: Desert Combat against like 50 bots was a lot more fun that half an hour of CS.
To me, CS is the most accuracy intensive game though. You cant take hundreds of hits, and headshots are really, really important. There's a lot of things that make it great, but I admit there are some games that just have so many cool thing to do that they even out in the end.

meh...clans are a hassle
my last exit from a clan was a less than happy one...
accuracy is well...
it helps...
but there is a lot of randomness thrown into the game

orr you can do it manually and search for mwycplayer.zip and start downloading
since i am on emule almost 24 hours a day

Ah yes, good old Counter-Strike. I played that game for 2 years straight and then never touched it again. I remember it being so much fun when it first came out, but then things got a little too competitive for me...people started to get pretty damn rude in a lot of the CS games.
Well,not for me in this game....gets bored.....

i still play it.. maybe 1-4 times a month... it's not as addictive as it used to be but still a lot of fun.. i am waiting to see how CS:zero is gonna be like... 1.6 is fun. i like it better than 1.5. And the shields are powerful but only if the team works well together (kinda like everything else). without teamwork, shields are horrible...
I used to play the game but later i've been bored with it. Now i play Battlefield 1942

Well, I never relaly played it much back in teh day. Played Half Life.
Now my roomate started running CS games in our apartment and we've been playing alot and enjoying it. Plus we all use 1.5.

Actually, from what I understand, CS has really fallen on the FPS ladder. Newer games like BF1942:Vietnam, UT2k4, etc have WAY more people than most even realize. I'm happy for CS, but I think it's time has come and gone. I still play, but only because my friends do... :(

Everyonce in a while I have a LAN Party. It's fun, out of 10, I'd probably be a 7. My friend is like an 11, if the devil played CS, then my friend would be him!

It's a good game, but it got boring after a while. I haven't played the game in two years and have just recently started playing again.
If you want to see (imho) the best team-based, best Halflife mod, play Natural Selection.

It's a RTS/FPS hybrid, with a heavily Starcraft/Aliens theme. You have two teams, Humans Vs Aliens. The humans have a Commander (which plays EXACTLY like Starcraft, top down view and all) whom brings down structures/weapons/items, orders marines where to go, researches new technologies/upgrades, etc. Aliens can evolve to higher life forms, and they can go Gorge, a builder alien.
It's heavily, heavily team oriented. If the team don't work together, they lose, plain and simple.
Counter-strike is indeed still pretty good.
I mostly play it on LAN-partys, or with my brothers :)
Although i prefer BF1942 or Day of Defeat.

I dare sum1 to say the x-box version of CounterStrike is Gd infact i double dare em :fingers:
but yea it was nice on pc i had some real nice lan games wif it but farcry has a place much bigger in my heart now = P

steam straight up sux, i dont play CS anymore... i got bored of it. its only fun playing with lots of friends.

I used to play CS Pre BETA 1.0 (my friend and I got a hold of it two days before the intial release) and we had a blast. Every CS upgrade got better, and better best ones EVER were 3.1 and 5.2 but then BETA 7.1 rolled around... and I quit, and that was YEARS ago. Man CS used to be so much fun back then.. but in 7.1 they introduced the bunny hop and DESTRYOED the knife... it used to be 3 shanks and you're dead, now its 5-6 and the "power" hit with the secondary... man that sucked since it was so slow. IMO the golden age of CS was went it was still just a popular mod. Man I found SO many freakin' exploits, that didn't make the game "over-powered" but just fun, like taking off the mouse_aim restrictions so you have 100% mouse movement, I used to run around on my head, Skywalking and the classic silent machinegun, man CS was so much fun... now it sucks, people used to play it for fun and to be good, now they play it to win PC club tournaments. Go Desert Combat.
