Hi, what are some anime where the main character is just a league beyond those around him as well as those he ends up facing? I'm just tired of all the underdogs nowadays so I'd like to see a character that can just blow through the competition from the start.

Some examples are Alucard from Hellsing and Layfon from Chromed Shelled Regios

How about Bleach? The main character almost always wins by a last minute powerup. Trying to understand it will make your head hurt.

If not, I would suggest Code Geass.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've seen most of the popular series (like Code Geass and Bleach) already. Also, stuff like bleach is one of the reasons why I created this topic. I'm just tired of watching the main character getting beaten to a pulp and then eventually win by some miracle. I want a character that is in control from the very beginning.

As for the genre, I'd probably prefer it to be action but all types are welcome.

Kaze no Stigma and Black Lagoon (mostly the former, the latter is more action entertainment, but Revy is still overpowered even if not godlike).

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro
Neuro is really overpowered. He's even bullet proof and has a huge range of H4X skills.
Plus most of the people he goes up against are normal humans.

heh, lotsa repost of the same anime; some people just don't read other suggestions when they post >.<
Try Tokyo Majin Gakuen; though it doesnt show that the protag isn't normal at the start later in the series(up to 2nd season) his powers begin to unravel.

Casshern Sins.

Casshern is overpowered, he's so strong and indestructible that he questions himself why. And you get an amazing story to go with.

Well, there is always Gundam Seed Destiny... The main character is BEYOND GODLIKE!! He doesn't die =P But you should watch the first one, Gundam Seed first though he is not overtly overpowering just yet.

Third for Gintama, it has a rather unique approach to your typical almighty character, and has quite alot of parody so is always fun to watch.

Berserk is also good, except it's a bit old, and hard to find. One of those classics though.

Cell, "M" Vegeta, GOhan buu and Omega Shinron has. I think you mean the Fusions. Once GOgeta,Gotenks,Vegetto are out, the bad guy craps him self and loses. well goku did beat Omega only because of the SPirit bomb and SSJ4 Gogeta.

@ Plun - I hope you don't mean Tsukune, because he is the main character, not Moka.

I'll second Gintama. Action and comedy*. And though Gintoki may not look like it, he's way too overpowered when he gets to it xD.

* So much on some episodes that you'll laugh your ass off.

Tsukikage Ran- the titular character is practically invincible (only one character managed to pose any sort of threat to her) Her sidekick, despite her ditziness, is pretty strong as well.

The animation for the fight scenes is quite good too.
