I am currently looking for an anime that has music revolving around the plot, as well as having romance integrated into it while at the same time taking place in school. So the genre would be split up as romance/music/drama/school.

Nodame Cantabile would be the perfect reccomendation except that it takes place in a music college...which is technically a school.

Well I haven't watched La Corda D'Oro ~primo passo~ (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6859), since it's reverse harem bishounen but my friend (which is a girl) told me that it's a good one...

And maybe Shinkyouku Soukai Polyphonica CrimsonS (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10415)? And I'm seconding Nodame Cantabile (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7010) and Looking for Full Moon (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=872). Both are pretty good!

Full Moon wo Sagashite focuses on music and technically has school-grade protagonist, but she is almost never at school or in any way associated with it; it's quite good, albeit horribly depressing. So IMO Nodame Cantabile is your best bet, aside from Princess Tutu, which is actually a ballet anime and therefore strongly features classical music.

La Cordo de Oro and some other one that sounds similar and came out at a similar time are not very good from what I hear, but I have not seen them. Polyphonica (which I DID watch) is, again IMO, not worth watching.

There's also K-On. Not romance, but it is about a highschool music club, and a lot of people really like it (I think it's decent).

I have not seen Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, nor do I wish to, but it features a school-age rock band, and is highly acclaimed.

Haruhi has an episode or two about when she decides to do a rock concert (which is rather fun to watch)... not that it's particularly focal, but honestly, every anime fan should have seen Haruhi anyway.

As for anime that is not ABOUT music, but HAS absolutely awesome music and involves schools and romance... well, Mai Hime has an outstanding score by Yuki Kajiura. Full Metal Panic and Shakugan no Shana also have darn good music and are generally school romance (plus action, drama, and comedy) genres, and are worth watching. But none of them involve music in the plots.

Polyphonica (which I DID watch) is, again IMO, not worth watching.Well, it might be true for the 1st season, but I guess the CrimsonS is much better.

How about Macross Frontier (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=8586)? Although it does contain mecha, the plot is much more enticing than the ones you've seen before. Romance is a pretty significant part of the plot as well as the music (actually the music is extremely important to the plot) and it also has a school setting for a while. There is plenty of drama of course. Mind you that I'm not a mecha fan at all but this is an exception, it was a pleasant surprise to me so do yourself a favor and give it a watch, you'll be hooked by the first episode.
