I think if there's one character we can't resist, it's Tsuruya-san.

Tsuruya is really that fun character, and I'd say a reminder to the viewers that normal people exist in this world who can be dynamic on their own. Or there are people who can be helpful without getting involved. The only flaw with her is because she isn't an official member of the SOS-Dan, she doesn't appear very often. But, she's just so wonderfully dynamic. And even though this is from a doujin, she has Haruhi's personality and energy along with Mikuru's cuteness. (And don't deny it, Tsuruya drips with cute qualities.)

Tsuruya is popular because she has most of Haruhi's good points, and pretty much none of her bad... and plus she has that great laugh of her's. She's the show's most charismatic character second only to Haruhi herself.

A very willing accomplice in Haruhi's poor treatment of Mikuru during the Sighs arc. With Haruhi arguably at her worst, Tsuruya was helping her every step of the way... and in a way that was arguably harming her best friend Mikuru.

Assuming we're going with S1MMPR counterparts(as that's the only team I can think of with this color scheme), the only two Brigade members you have even close to right are Haruhi and Nagato.

First off, the role of "only person who understands what the hell blue is saying" should NOT go to Mikuru.

Second, I know you were making a joke, but really, Koizumi as pink?

Last, Kyon only works in black because Tsuruya serves as a better green, and JYB didn't show up until season two of MMPR.

Really, I thought it was too off-model. Kyon meets Kana (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg114/quigonkenny/AKanaisfinetoo2.jpg), if you will... My personal favorite was the pissed Churuya face. When I came up with the idea, that was the first line that popped in my head, and I had to redraw the eyebrows as opposed to rotating them like I wanted to (and like I did with Kyon's "sad eyes" in the last frame), since her hair was in the way...

"nyo" is kinda like "no" with a "yuh" after the n... "ro~" is an extended "row"... "n" is, well "n"

"Ny" as in "Enya" except without the "e" and the "a". "Oro" as in "Spanish for gold", but the "~" means you stretch the last "o" out until it stops sounding cute. The "n" at the end is almost...almost silent.

Anyway, I agree that there are a lot a similarities between Haruhi and Tsuruya, but one of the major differences is the lack of the occasional moments of Tsundere. She's completely genki while Haruhi's more 80% genki.

Haruhi only acts tsundere towards Kyon. With the exception of a bit of flirting(which Kyon believes wasn't meant to be serious), we haven't seen Tsuruya take a romantic interest in anyone, so it's hard to say how she'd act in the situation.

Now I can completely agree that she goes along with whatever Haruhi says (possibly anyone), but how she's very believable considering her unrealistic traits. She's SO nice that you can't really suspect her of what she does.

Like I said to Kogetsu earlier in this thread, Tsururya does have her flaws... just enough to keep her interesting. ;)

Tsuruya can be playful to a fault and she's a touch oblivious, at least when it comes to helping out Haruhi and the SOS Brigade. Tsuruya was the only person that was actually smiling for a bit while Haruhi was bopping Mikuru on the head (in the lead-up to you-know-what). Now, in Tsuruya's case, there's not a touch of malevolence there (Tsuruya's smile was an innocent one)... but it does show that she can be a bit clueless at times.

Read at least up to Volume 7. Tsuruya-san's actions in Sigh will make considerably more sense. Even though Intrigues has multiple plots running concurrently and due to the primary plot, is the most Mikuru-centric of the single story books, Tsuruya absolutely steals the entire book in just one scene. And it's not a goofy, genki, laughing Tsuruya that does it.
