So if I thought this Hino Satoshi could not become any less likable, he proved me wrong in the episode. I want to bleach my brain. Curse you Shuffling item. Now I can't forget the blushing, tsundere Yuji saying, "urusai urusai urusai." Episode was funny for all the wrong reason.
So where are the crazed Shana fans? Shinji? Relentless?

I expected the raw would be out on the day of its release lol, downloading the blu-ray rip raw even though my CDJapan order of the OVA DVD version shipped this morning XD cos I'm impatient. Looking forward to watching the "New Shakugan no Shanatan" special off this OVA when I receive the DVD provided if the raw of that doesn't come out before I receive it.

A hilarious episode. :heh: Hino-san's okama voice... :heh:
...! Yuuji... BAKAYAROUUUUUU!! What a perfect chance! A situation any otaku would want to experience once! And you didn't do anything?! Ahah~?! At least... *mumble* *mumble* Bathro-... *mumble* look at ow- *mumble*
There was a G mini-Shana bonus, but Ike... :heh: It's hard to take him seriously in the real story too now.
Though, hmm... Friagne... really nostalgic.
The OP... was, for a Shana OP, kind of boring (the song is good though). I guess since it is an OVA, they don't really have enough material to put some fighting in the OP?
ED... Glad they won the trophy. :)

That was a great episode! Season2 was kinda mediocre, but after watching this, it makes me want another season.
Maybe we can finally get a resolution to the love triangle in this ova :D

Not a chance, it'll end with Yuji staring out into the sunset with no decision at all.
Hilarious episode.

The none blu-ray torrent isn't.
We've seen the body-swap formula being used a lot over the years, though i never get bored of it. That episode was hilarious, mainly to see Yuuji act so female. :heh:

Finished watching the Reshuffle raw.
Who knew Yuji's body was so weak to handle ice-cream? XD. In terms of story, there wasn't really anything much to talk about, though there are some funny scenes like Yuji & Shana heading to the school thinking no one would be there on a Sunday and running into Oga-chan's volleyball team changing. The OVA's are supposed to delve or explore into the characters of Yuji and Shana but this OVA didn't really do anything like that so I guess the future OVA's probably will. I found it pretty average to be honest, just pure light-hearted fluff to kill some time. Other than that, I'm happy to at least see some new Shana.
P.S. LOL @ Wilhelmina finishing the burger meal in a matter of 5 seconds.

You know what's the irony in all of this?
By switching bodies, Yuji's body is actually a bit more male and Shana's body a bit more effeminate, when it should have been the other way around. Or maybe not, since Yuji's such a girl and Shana's such a tomboy.
Go figure.:eyespin:
Great OAV !
Shana and Yuji are back yeah !!!
Hilarious episode !
Yuji(Shana) Shut up x 3 ahah
and Shana (Yuji) Shut up x 3 was hilarious !
They were cute !
Like Shana's clothes ^^
And as always the OP and ED are great !
This was my favorite episode of the entire series. I think a big part of that is all the time I invested in the story up to this point. And then to make an episode like this, I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard recently, fantastic ova.

lol, i actually kinda sympathize Yuji for that because Shana ate about 20~30 ice creams.
yeah, i laughed at the part Wilhelmina finished the meal and to meet with them too XD
This OVA sure is relaxing to watch. But i like the Shanatan more. There quite some amount of parody of other anime or dramas such as hayate, toradora, and even direct appearance of Index lol:)

lol a good start back into Shana.
great OP/ED from Mami Kawada as usual..
The first ep was pretty good. Great OP + ED songs as usual.
Body switching situations are always ripe for comedy. XD Yuuji imitating Shana's catchphrase was hilarious.
Shana laughing at the end was probably the highlight ten seconds of this OVA ep for me. And the melonpan reward at the end... ahaha Wilhelmina...

Well it was alright. Personally never was that big with the body swapping episodes. Still some good moments in here though. Oddly I think the best ones were all around Wilhelmina. Was just great how she quickly ate the meal in order to rush out and then the mental shut down after the "I love you." :heh:
A tough time for Yuuji's body though. I mean damn Shana sure packed it away. Really he should have known that wouldn't be good and done something to stop her earlier. Too bad he got so worried about it.
Overall not bad.

Loved the episode. A nice little comedy shop while we wait for season 3.
What I don't get though, is why we have ShanaxWilhelmina in the ED when the episode was clearly fully of ShanaxYuuji signs. That ended up feeling awkward and throwing the mood off quite a bit.

Really? Because I kind of actually got the point of the episode. It was just the standard everyday life that Shana and Yuji would be doing when there isn't really a major story arc going on. Wilhelmina is around nowadays, so we have to know that Shana is living at the former Yukari Hirai residence rather than Yuji's room. It's just a typicality.

Then they throw a "Wilhelmina, daisuki" hug at the end, and it feels rather awkward.
I dunno, I always saw Wilhelmina sort of as the awkward stepmom to Shana... or something like that. I.e. perfectly platonic daisuki. :D

First and foremost being that Wilhelmina would probably kill Yuuji before letting anything special happen between him and Shana. :heh:

Probably one of the reasons why Alastor told them that they should take extra precaution in telling Wilhelmina :heh:
Honestly, Wilhelmina's motherly instinct is more like that of a protective-father-ish :heh:

KugiRie acting as Yuuji saying 'Urusai! Urusai! Urusai' is absolutely adorable in a weird way. I never really hard Satoshi Hino voicing a tsundere, it's quite interesting.

This was a great episode imo. Shana laughing at the end was too cute..
Has anyone else noticed the thing with Shana's shoes during the school scene? She was in red high heels for the whole episode, but during the scene where they are running up the stairs at school (right before they bust in on the volley ball team changing) she is shown wearing grey flats..
Just something I noticed.
I'm glad I heard "URUSAI!URUSAI!URUSAI!" again, I kind of missed my loli shana :)

Seriously, hearing Shana talk like a boy and Yuuji talk like a girl was hilarious. :heh:
In my opinion it wasn't just the gender swap, but also their personalities that made it so interesting. Seeing Shana suddenly became hesitant and wimpy, while Yuuji turned gar, turned up the comedy factor. :)
The plot pace was also entertaining and the premise was put to good use. Shana was able to tell Wilhelmina how she felt towards her through the unique circumstances, although not directly. I also like the scene where Shana tried to kiss Yuuji; it's exciting to see Yuuji (though not really him) take initiative in that moment. Too bad it wasn't meant to be. :(
Can a necklace produce sweat and have sweatdrops? :uhoh:
Alastor couldn't stand Yuuji's half-hearted urusai. :heh:
Alastor has always been portrayed as a serious, supervising role, dependable even in dire situations, so I didn't like how his anxiety was emphasised with the sweatdrops. I would have expected it to occur in the shana-tan franchise instead. However, given the light-hearted atmosphere, that brief moment that Alastor lost his composure and broke out in sweat blended in well with the flow. It would not be as funny without those visual cues. :)

Very clever, cute, and charming episode!
Like Game 8910, I also found Shana-Yuji more manly than normal Yuji, and Yuji-Shana more moe than normal Shana. I guess that this just goes to show that Shana really does have a very tomboy personality... whereas Yuji's personality is a bit feminine in some ways, perhaps.
Shana handled being in Yuji's body better than I thought she would. She seemed to be strictly concerned with making sure Yuji didn't, well, take advantage of his new body. :heh:

That would be attention to detail, generally in Japanese style housing/indoors you take your street shoes off at the door and wear slippers/flats. A lot of Japanese schools actually have shoe lockers at the entrance for that reason.
Um, around when in the SnS timeline does this take place? Its been a while since I've watched the series so my memory of what order events happen is kinda foggy.

This Reshuffle event should occur around the arrival of Wilhelmina (after the Khamsin arc), which puts it around Episode 20-21 of Season 1, if I am not mistaken. That is why we all have weird feeling seeing Yuji being "wimpy", Shana being so dominant and Wilhelmina being cold toward Yuji. It is because at the end of Season 2, we have seen Yuji being more confident and self-assured, Shana being more girlie (minus triple urasai, unfortunately) and Wilhelmina being more forgiving toward Yuji, albeit a bit reluctantly.
It was really nice. Idea of body swapping seems like a cliche already, but this time, it was really well done. I don't know if I ever enjoyed it that much. I mean, the body-swapping concept.
btw. Does anybody know if Eclipse are going to fansub it?

I'm more convinced it's after episode 24 of Season 1, or in other words, after Season 1. I felt that Episodes 17-24 was somewhat too much of a turning point that it had to go into succession of each other, and this episode would have only made sense after everything calmed down and was resolved. So I would put this episode right before the start of Season 2.

You do have a point there, minhtam1638 and I respect your opinion. The only definite thing about the exact time of occurence of this Reshuffle event is that it happens after the Khamsin arc. Exactly when, we do not know. It is a side story from Noizi Ito's art story which may not have a direct link to which volume of the novel. For that, different people may interpret the exact time of occurence differently.
Sorry to say that I do not quite agree with you based on the way Wilhelmina spoke to Yuji in this Reshuffle episode. When Shana (in Yuji's body) replies on behalf of Yuji (in Shana's body), Wilhelmina promptly told Shana-Yuji that he should not answer her. Later on, when Shana-Yuji has a small tussle with Wilhelmina, the Wilhelmina fights indicates that she treats Shana-Yuji as some sort of enemy and she almost unleash all of her full strength.
On the other hand, in the Episode 1 of Season 2, Wilhelmina treats Yuji slightly better without any intention of viewing Yuji as an enemy. You could argue with me that the Reshuffle episode occurs just before the Season 2. However, the complete change in the way Wilhelmina treats Yuji could not happen in such a short time before the Season 2. I would say that the change is due to the both occasions Shana saves Yuji in Episode 21 (Season 1) and when the event Shana is thought to be dead in Episode 24 (Season 1).
minhtam1638, on your doubt that this event cannot fit in a series of events in Episodes 17-24, I do somewhat agree with that. For now, the best compromise, I think, would be that the Reshuffle event occurs before Wilhelmina attempts to kill Yuji at the end of the Episode 20. It is just my opinion, though. Feel free to correct my mistakes.

Actually, this happened last year with SnS II, 2nd OP. When the 2nd OP was released, Eclipse & Static-Subs had to listen by ear and interpret what the lyrics were, only to find that they were 30% off when the real lyrics of Blaze were released in the discography. They corrected the lyrics by episode 22.
So if we follow this pattern, Eclipse most likely tried to interpret the lyrics by ear, since they didn't have the actual lyrics themselves because it wasn't released yet.

There's two problems I have with this theory. First, exactly where did you find anything as remote as a time gap between episode 17-24? As far as I was concerned, there was the Misago festival, Wilhelmina arrived the morning after, then spent one day trying to figure out why Shana was acting the way she was, decided to kill Yuji on the spot that same night, and the bonfire occurred next morning. Second, if you look into Shana's own personality throughout the OVA and try to insert it to 17-24, you'll find that her personality is inconsistent with that of her personality within 20-21, not to mention that Wilhelmina has yet to see Yuji as a useful Mistes by that time. So going by that, it would make more sense to put this OVA after 24 than 20.
And as far as Wilhelmina goes, she already treats Yuji pretty much as an enemy on and off the series, kind of like a mom vs. boyfriend type of deal. I agree that it would make more sense to place this after 20 or 21 based on her personality, but you should also realize that by the end of 24, although she was forced to accept that Yuji is very important to Shana, it doesn't necessarily mean that she would be able to change her attitude toward Yuji.
By my calculations, there were one or two weeks between the end of Season 1 and the beginning of Season 2, so this whole acceptance deal has to take a little bit of time. 20-21 isn't enough time to cover it. You're right, though - this is just a side story based on illustration, so it's true place in the storyline is quite debatable.
In fact, I think this happens all the time, with all sorts of sub groups and all sorts of series. Even songs in your native language are often easy to mishear. When you see the OP and/or ED subs suddenly change, that's when you go, "Oh! The single must have been released." XD
