As some of you may know, the third game in the Rune Factory sries was just released today!

A number of gameplay videos are already on Youtube?

What do you guys think of it?

Dunno. I have, ahem, obtained an 'advance copy' but I'm too busy with Saga 2 to try it. The little I read about this game didn't excite me much, and I played RF2 three times in a row so I'm a bit RF'ed out.

My head exploded from playing RF:Frontier too much, I don't know if I can go back to playing on a handheld. I'll most likely wait for another console release.

Okay, I started it. I've played two weeks in-game. *sigh*
The graphics are nice.
The music is repetitive, but okay.
The voice acting is repetitive and not okay.
The controls are...I'll get used to them.
The dungeons are...I haven't bothered with them so far.
The character designs are okay. In the beginning it seems like there are a lot of people in town, but you'll meet them all in no time. The only girl I'm interested in right now is Touna-chan, since I can't get with the hot MILF that runs the bathhouse -..-

I don't know what's wrong with this game, or what's wrong with me, but I'm finding RF3 really, really boring. The characters lack charm, there's no motivation to do anything, farming is tedious because you plant in individual plots - instead of nine seeds per plot, you have to scatter each square one by one by one. And when you run out of RP, every use of a tool takes away HALF of your HP. Oookay...

Mais is dull. The girls are dull. The town is dull. Farming is dull. The music is dull. I guess I really am RF'ed out. Game --> Shelf --> Until I finish Saga 2.

Hm... so its not that good? :/

Who are all the bachelorettes? I've done a little browsing, but just about all the females look so young! Its hard to tell who you can marry and who you can't!! I already know that theres Sia, the main girl, Touna, that blacksmith(?) elf chick, and Persia, the pink-haired chick with that looks like... tentacles coming out of her head... And I sort of wish you could marry Monica, she's just so cute! ^3^ Do you know if theres a second generation like in the previous Rune Factory game?

Hm.... Annette is OK to me.... But not my favorite of the girl, I definitely like Uzuki and Selphy the most!

And Candy... if only you could marry her.... :heh:

These are the marriage candidates. (http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/ds/runefactory3/chara/heroine.html) I know green haired is named Ion, the girl with all that candy on her is Chocolat, and blue-haired is Marion.

There is no second gen as far as I know, but you can have 3 different children and you can give them a personality to. A lonely daughter, a hyper son, and stuff like that. There is also a second opening once you get married.

Uzuki? really? that's a first... :heh:

I don't like Selphy that much, the whole relationship feels forced and it never feels like she actually likes you. Anette is just so endearing "D.. d.. do you like.. m.. m.. melons? *blushes*"

Hm... so its not that good? :/
It's okay. It's my least favorite of all the Rune Factories I've played but that doesn't mean it's a bad game. It's just...meh. I'm walking along and I'm like, meh. Fighting, meh. Talking to people, meh. The festivals are meh. The gimmicky sheep transformation is meh.

And now when you get the forge and cooking range and stuff, they don't come with recipes, no no no. You don't get the recipes from classes like in RF2 either. No, you have to buy recipes in the form of...BREAD. Random recipe bread, so you can't pick what exactly you learn. And, if your level in that skill is too low, you'll get a "You can't learn this skill yet" message and guess what, you just wasted 160-450g on useless bread that doesn't even refill your health meter. *sigh*

So you see, it's the little, little things that bring this game down. The big details are fine but the tiny details, like your house being empty and boring, or only being able to take one quest per board per day (and if you cancel that quest right away you still can't take another one), not being able to farm the same spots all the time because the soil fertility goes down, etc, etc. Little things like that make it hard for me to like this game.
