My minimalism is much minimal then yours, my object dock has auto hide, so most of the time its just the little things at the corners of my screen. =P

My Object Dock IS hiding, on the top, lol. So is my smart bar xp, on the left. I could've made my taskbar hide too but that would make Saber TOO lonely. No, nothing's hiding on the right. :p

Edit: That may be true, slayer, that multiple desktop programs can slow you down or even cause errors, but I've been using these things for years and my system runs like butter, I can run HL2 on max settings with these things running in the background with no problems, and my computer isn't state of the art or anything, it just takes a lot of geeky maintenance.

it really doenst require that much modification. Im actually using an alternative shell called Litestep, objectbar and windowblinds only, and I havn't experianced any big errors or anything.

Well, I run a decently-powered desktop and an overpowered Vaio laptop and I have to say that running StyleXP, Rainlendar, Rainmeter, etc. hasn't really affected my desktop's performance. On the other hand, my laptop (which has comparable stats to the desktop) slows down like a chicken in tar when I run Rainy's, Samurize, and especially Objectdock. Given that Ronin's running a pad like mine, I'd advocate he use it, but disable before undertaking any serious gaming, graphics, or multimedia use... Ho~e for laptops :sad: ...

themes: StyleXP
bottom-bar: ObjectDock
others: iconPackager (applies packages), styler (adds drop shadow and let's me minimize windows MacOS-like: titlebar-only) & rainlendar (calendar at bottom-right)

The easiest way (and the method almost everyone uses) is to use a picture host that will do it automatically. Most people use http://www.imageshack.us/ because it is free and easy and doesn't require you to sign up.

Just go there, and upload your photo using the common submit dialogue, then click the "host it" button. Do not tell it to resize.

After it has uploaded the image, it will give you a whole bunch of links that you can copy and paste. Choose the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" to copy and paste and you'll see this:

I usually run dual monitor, but I've been gaming and I disable the second monitor when gaming to ilk out that little bit of extra performance.

That program is called ssp (Sakura Script Player), isn't it?

I think I have the Chinese version and a few personalities lying around on my hard drive.

Though, I don't know where the site that I got them from went... seems to be gone or moved without me knowing.

Since I'm here, might as well post my notebook's desktop. Just found this wallpaper today. It's Serizawa from Pani Poni Dash! Works great because it's more square than your standard monitor resolutions. This is key for ease of use in both portrait and landscape modes. ^_^;

I'll try to explain about Ukagaka(materia) here. I feel like I'll end up writing something long and silly. :heh:

First of all, these "Desktop Mascot Characters" are called "ghosts", and the software used to run them are called "ghost platforms".

The original ghost platform is called Ukagaka 伺か (http://usada.sakura.vg/). However, updates for this software has ceased for a few years now. (But if you liked Sakura (my ghost), you'll still want to get this because she comes with it).

Currently, the two major ghost platforms are CROW (http://crow.aqrs.jp/) and SSP (http://ssp.shillest.net/). Among those, SSP seems to be the most up-to-date and developed.

All the platforms are designed to be compatible with all ghosts (for example, you can take Sakura from Ukagaka and run her with SSP). However, some ghosts only work on specific platforms (usually SSP).

For transfers between platforms, since all platforms share the same folder structure, you can just drag the folder that contains the ghost from the "ghost" folder from one platform into another platform's "ghost" folder.

You can browse for new ghosts at places like Ghost Town (http://ghost.sakura.vg/) or 何かゴーストセンター (http://ngc.sherry.jp/).

Ghosts can also be equipped with additional shells, which is basically like clothing to them.

Another ghost I like is Futaba (http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bishop/7317/futaba.html), who, for some reason, recognizes Sakura when I switched between the two ghosts, and calls her "stepsister". I was like "huh?" So a little researching revealed that Futaba was actually the second default character for Ukagaka (Sakura was first) until a redesigned Sakura took over again (as the "third ghost") before Futaba was fully developed. So someone named (完) asked for permission and took over the development of Futaba as a ghost. So technically, Futaba and Sakura are "stepsisters". Futaba gained a ton of popularity because she was an "incomplete, discarded ghost" who received a second chance at life(?) (Futaba won the ghost moe tournament (http://saimoe.hp.infoseek.co.jp/#tournament) too, apprantely ^^; ). Someone even made a Shell dress that matches Sakura's (http://www.aqrs.jp/cgi-bin/ghostdb/search.cgi?word=%C1%D0%CD%D5+-+%B5%C1%BB%D0%A4%B5%A4%F3%A4%C8%A4%AA%A4%BD%A4%ED% A4%A4&type=all&start=0&sort=id&count=20) for Futaba.

Installation of new ghosts/shells is easy, just drag and drop the downloaded .nar file onto the character, and they'll install for you. (For shells, drop it onto the ghost that it's made for, otherwise:

Most of the desktops are fixed images, but I rotate all my wallpapers on desktop 7 and loads of randomly chosen images on desktop 6. The bar at the top gets covered by maximised applications, normal access to everything is from various menus at the bottom left. Or just type it into the command box.

About Icons:- I recieved a PM from someone stating that they had looked everywhere for my Icons and could not find them. This is one of those few moments when Google is not the answer, though kudos to those of you who tried. Those icon Packs are custom made by a friend of mine, and I no longer have a link to them. I've mirrored them here (http://www.filespace.org/Midnyt/icons.zip)(Right Click --> Save-As). This .zip contains the Touhou and Os-Tan icon sets. The Fate/stay night icons are not in it, mainly because the artist whose art was used had no decent pictures of Saber, thus there are no Saber icons. If there is some kind of demand for the Fsn icons I'll upload those as well.

^ Very anime-ish. Those icons are nice, especially those that are along the lines of that Firefox -eh. Quite a mess, though, colour-wise. That wallpaper is simply too grey for that bright blue start-menu and all-out icons. It needs moor c0l0ur.;)

Downsized by 50%. That transparent skin, Dreamland, is probably one of the best cross-compatible skins made thus far, fitting with almost any wally. Pretty happy to the light feeling in the setup too.
