There's a virus or something going 'round recently that activates that. My school's computers are -I've checked- 100% genuine, and every so often one of them pops up the rectangle on login that says "Your computer is not a Genuine Microsoft version. You may be a victim of piracy" or something like that.

I do not recall anything about a virus but with Windows, who knows! There is a chance that the product key is valid, but the WGA is there in error.

It should be noted that nothing like that scene in the image actually happens in the anime. It's probably just fanart. If you go there looking for romance, you'll be really disappointed :D (it's a great series, though).

It is my random phrase. Vista is not really killing it. However, its resource hungry environment is doing everything else!

There's a registry hack that allows you to remove it also, if you are like me (when I'm in my windows partition) and download EVERYTHING to your desktop.
What they're doing is actually turning off the desktop icons.

It kinda looks like a big mess to me, no offense (plus all that rap in the music player...blech). But I'm one who likes to keep his desktop as clear as possible. I only have 4 icons and that's it (my 2 firefox profiles, recycle bin, foobar2000).

Ha, nice, real clean and simple . . .I love it :) I can't say the same about my desktop though, it's got so many icons from all the programs I use frequently . . . yeah I could use folders but it's so much faster to just click the button . . .

A suggestion for everyone who has a ton of icons on their desktop:
Use Launchy (http://www.launchy.net).
It will index any folders you tell it to...and it'll index whatever filetypes you tell it to. So the most effective thing you can do with it is to throw a ton of shortcuts into a folder, tell it to index that folder and .lnk files (that's the official extension for shortcuts) and now you can run launchy by hitting alt+space, then typing in the name of the program, hit enter, and it'll run it.

You can also index whatever files you want. So you can index pictures, anime episodes (IMO it's pretty damn cool to just be like "Ouran High 1" and it'll open up Ouran High School Host Club ep 1).

But yeah, the site and then the readme that comes with the program will help out a lot if you didn't understand what I said :D.

hehe yeah, that's pretty much the minimum I like to keep on my desktop...I try to shove stuff away in folders (pics etc) because I'm always doing stuff with random pictures. =/ strange. I've not had that problem. usually it will refuse to play a video, but if I just close the window (not quit the program) and reopen the video, it works fine. And that's only after rewinding and watching the same scene over 20,000x because I like it.

I regards to Vista, I do not think the same kind of themes exist much like they did in Windows 98. At any rate, they have a program called "Windows Blinds" that could be of help to you - http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ .

Widescreen anime wallpapers is difficult to find.. I tend not to bother with it sometimes.. if I do, I get the highest res avaliable and just strech if it looks acceptable or leave as original with bars on side.

It's Rocketdock, a dock program that lets you launch and switch to open programs. It's not entirely useful, IMO, since I use launchy a lot...but it can be handy and it looks cool :D.
