Vista (Bootcamp) desktop really needs to be updated, so here it is... with Windows 7 visual styles applied.

I also overclocked my CPU/GPU on my Macbook Pro (Yes, the latest Unibodies are overclockable since they use nVidia nForce 730i chipset and does not have overclock lock.) mainly for gaming with the use of nVidia System Tools, and here is the results (mainly for braging rights.):

Funny.... I rarely keep that many icons on my Desktop (The most icons I ever have on my desktop now is 12). I rather have my desktop clean and organized and having alot of icons on your desktop becomes counterproductive because the desktop will load slower after you log in.

Funny.... I rarely keep that many icons on my Desktop (The most icons I ever have on my desktop now is 12). I rather have my desktop clean and organized and having alot of icons on your desktop becomes counterproductive because the desktop will load slower after you log in.Nope, having tons of icons on your desktop has no effect on computer performance. Mostly because those are .LNK files, very small in size. Now, if you have _folders_ with stuff on the desktop, that indeed will slow it down.

I have Vista, and rather powerful PC, but I hate Aero so I have every effect turned off, that's why my desktop looks like a classic Win95 desktop.

@alamarco: I made the wallpaper a couple months ago. I could've sworn Yoruichi could use Soi fon's technique as well. I needed a symbol to make the background stand out, but that was all I could think of using at the time.

Sidebar is an annoyance, especially your computer screen is 4:3 which takes up useful room, but it's more useful on a 16:10 screen depending if you really use it. For me, I don't really use the sidebar that often and I'm debating if I should just turn it off completely.

But then I admit that Sidebar may take up too much space on a 4:3 screen of low resolution (I am using it on a 16:10 1440x900 screen BTW).

I personally don't care about the existence of the sidebar because even in win7 I keep my gadgets on the right :P
Reinstalling Vista since Beta is almost done. I would get RC1 if they weren't going to be pulling the same bullshit as with Beta; that is 2 months before expiration the system starts shutting down 2 hours after boot, beta is doing this starting June 1. RC1 is set to do it in March 2010, which is in middle of the school year for me so fu*k that.

Yeah, it's quite easy to think our images don't look big when we're used to seeing it on our monitors all the time. I have a high-resolution dual-screen setup, and I find comments about that often when I post. Now I'm more careful. :)

How come people your desktops come off as huge ? My monitor is 24'' and I use 1920x1080 resolution, but when I press prnt scrn and paste it to Paint, then upload it to somewhere, it seems so much smaller when I post it to here. And I'm not posting a thumbnail link or anything x_x.

Are you using photobucket? Most image hosting services have a default option to resize images upon being uploaded.

Photobucket resizes images, but you can select an option to not have it resize if your image is under 1MB in size. If that is the problem then you should try compressing it more.

I don't think Paint has the option to select level of compression... so try using a popular free image viewing program like IrfanView.

I think desktop icons are annoying... they sit there and block out the wallpaper and they're completely useless.. i can start a program just as fast via search on vista or quicklaunch...

Also why do u guys use the taskbar... the one on the right with all the gadgets on it for vista... its an extreme processor hog... even after sp2 it's still slows down the computer =/
