I used to do that too, but I figure might as well leave the credit to the maker, also easier when I want more of the same from that person. But at the very least I don't notice them at all otherwise anymore.

Yea, when I edit it I save the image with a different name and keep the original for possible reference. I always link others to the original too if anyone ever asks for the source. ^^

I don't mind them if they're put in a subtler way, but when the colouring is in contrast to the image then I can't stand it.

For some how the watermark is positioned, sized, etc its just as important as the rest and its put there to fill in a space or if they feel that there's a need for some text.

Providing you use one of those privacy filters which can black out all the content on the screen at all angles except your viewing angle, it's probably not the best thing to have a desktop that have ecchi content while you use your computer in a public place like college or people might think you are strange... Even if you have a privacy filter, someone in back of you can see the content on your screen if in the right viewing angle.

I hardly use wallpaper that have that sort of content, although my wallpapers still have bishoujo's on it. =p

As for the rest its not on my laptop cause i don't have a laptop, but me personally i don't give a damn for what others think. My line would be: "Don't like it ? then don't look you wierdo" (not addressed to any of you just an example, said this just in case, since the net is full of misunderstandings )

PS: almost all my friends don't really like nor are interested in anime (except 2-3) the rest (including my mom) just say i have weird tastes for wallpapers and that's it, it doesn't change there attitude and respect towards me in the slightest.

deviantart has some good cosmos wallpapers theres about 5 or 6 i rotate thru. some other good ones are the abstract ones i got a ton of those i go thru as well. vector has some nice looking ones too but I dont use those as often still neat looking tho.

I use imageshack sometimes, but most of the time, I use Littlesnapper's Ember (since I already registered my copy of Littlesnapper) for desktop screenshots only, although they limit me to 29 screenshots per month although I only really use it to upload desktop screenshots to keep track of all my screenshots without looking back several pages in this topic.

Is there any way to remove the Rainmeter icon from the system tray?

Unsure about your OS, but in XP it's right click the taskbar -> properties -> under the taskbar tab click 'Customize' and select always hide for Rainmeter.

Nice wallpaper btw, reminds of wipeout (which I'm playing atm ^^)

For me, besides from the dock, my desktop only have the drives connected to come with the computer and a few shortcuts or a folder and also my Geektool and Bowtie (iTunes controller) on my desktop. My desktop is very clean since I prefer clean desktops... =P
Thats a good tip.. some of my Desktop icons are not shortcuts so.. yea; 26 icons all together for me.

Shortcuts can slow the load to since when it loads it can also check the shortcut path (unless you tweaked it), basically anything on the desktop/taskbar/quicklaunch slows the load.

So I've had a little bit of time to revamp all the computers around the house, which have all solely been using WinXP since it's launch. Now I have two computers dual-booting XP and Ubuntu. This one here that I mainly use is now dual-booting XP and Win7 that I grabbed off MSDNAA that also virtualizes Ubuntu for me. Still searching out updates to programs that I normally use to be compatible for x64 Win7, but I must say x64 is incredibly more responsive than 32-bit. Anyways, the screeny:

1. Make a new folder somewhere

2. Place a Recycle Bin Shortcut inside

3. Add a new toolbar to the Superbar that points to the folder

4. Unlock the Superbar

5. Right-click the "grab points" of your new toolbar and uncheck "show text" and "show title"

6. Move the toolbar where you want

7. Lock the Taskbar again

8. Be happy^^

I wrote a small script to change the background image every 15 minutes, since xfce doesn't have all the fancy stuff for customizing your desktop that KDE has. I'll post some of my other ones later.

Other than that, I'm just using AWN and screenlets, while hiding the taskbar. (Although I did personally customize some of the screenlets)

I have a question, and I apologize if I sound like a total newbie by asking this, but is there any way for me to take a photo or snapshot of my desktop without having to use my cell phone? I don't have a way to plug it into my computer, and I don't have a digital camera.
If you're using Mac OS X, press the following three keys down (the picture will take once all keys are pressed simultaneously): command shift 3

Note that on some keyboards the command key doesn't say "command" but has an Apple symbol. All keyboards should have the same "four leaf clover" symbol (it isn't really a clover, but some people call it that) to indicate the Command key... but don't worry too much about it. The picture will be a file on your desktop.

Here's my current one. I don't really bother to use any of that fancy stuff like external toolbars or even the windows' sidebar, since they're really rather useless ( And, they consume ram ). It's not like I never stare at my desktop anyway, and clock/heats can be found from the lower right.

It's clean cause I always stuff everything to that Stuff folder, which probably has like 5000 files by now >.<.

Shangri-La is really underrated though, I can't find nearly any images or wallpapers of it at all.. annyoing >.<.

Yeah I know of Animepaper, but there aren't really that many. Also what I really hate about all papers posted on Animepaper, is that even though most of them are good, it seems like as if they're obligated to always add text into the paper ?

I really hate it and I don't think it fits to them, no matter what wall it is. ( My current one doesn't count since it's the series name )

Also, if you are using a Mac, you can use the Grab.app to take a screenshot of your screen... The program I use for screenshots is LittleSnapper (Shareware) which is relatively more powerful than Grab.app and can store all my screenshots I have taken..

Once I get Windows 7 upgraded on my Vista Bootcamp partition, I will show my updated Bootcamp desktop that haven't been updated for months since I only use it for gaming.

Updated Vista Business X64 to Windows 7 Professional X64 a few days ago and yes, games run a bit better and Audiosurf doesn't randomly stop during gameplay...

I'm still using the same wallpaper I did since July since I only go on Windows for gaming anyways. I do rest of my stuff on Mac OS X and I hate the new Superbar, it sucks.

You could try resize it... although it seems fairly easy to cut the character out and paste her onto a similar background. I could give it a try if you want.

Ended up going back to my Takamachi Miyuki background in the end. :heh: I just like that one way too much.... her character never gets enough love in the MGLN fandom. :D
