Karma - what is that thing you have to the right of the winamp player??

THat would be my magical Sysmetrix (http://www.xymantix.com/sysmetrix/), it displays stats of your system. CPU, available hard disk space, etc. THe skin I'm using doesn't match my wallpaper too well, but it's pretty hard to find good skins for it. Anyone know have good Winamp skin, preferrably anime related, that would match my wall? And does anyone know which anime this guy is from?

Hey, how'd you people make your desktop so cool looking? The start-menu and all are different and stuff. I've messed around with me settings but they're still the same, just with different colors...

Most people are using Theme XP, or Style XP to change the theme, or shell, or Windows XP. Here's my favorite site for that stuff. Theme XP (http://www.themexp.org/) You'll ben to download a program to change it, just go to the HELP or FAQ page there and see which program to use.

I think that they gave her name but it was like once throughout the whole series. You might know if you've seen it. She's the girl in Tsukihime who tells him that his vision is special and she gives him those glasses to temporarily get rid of them

You can navigate through the desktop in 3D. You can move windows far away into the distance or pull them close up. (Kinda like that computer system that Ed uses in Cowboy Bebop).

Firefox uses the same core as Mozilla/Netscape, but it trims off the excess fat/features. One of the reasons Mozilla is slow is because it is a suite, not just a browser like Firefox/Opera (at least that's how I understand it). I use Firefox and I think its great. I haven't used Opera before, but I know it has an ad banner and I hate that. I want my the viewing space on my browser window to be as large as possible. :argue:

^^Marvel, why do you have Trillian and MSN Instant Messenger? Maybe I'm misreading the icon (far one with the two people), but it puzzled me. I changed mine for another computer of mine. I found part of this wall on 4Chan, then I added the bunny in the middle from some guys site I found, and finally I found the pirate cel on 4Chan, and decided to add it. Which is why I got Thunderbird along side of Firefox. Run what I need when I need it.

Okay.. so here's my a more recent version of my desktop.. I'm using that Runa wallpaper :heh: I like it... lol. XMMS/WinAmp skin is of Mai from Kanon.

Again... it's Gentoo Linux with XFCE4. I "removed" the XFCE4 panel, and skinned the UI with the Grand Canyon GTK2 skin... but I've recently changed to the H2O GTK2 skin... but it's not very noticable in this type of shot. gkrellm2 skin is called invisible.

My current setup is currently very, very similar to the original poster of Runa lol. Sorry for stealin your style! ;) :)

NoSanninWa's got it down pretty well... I myself enjoyed Xenosaga greatly when I played it a while back... the age business is indeed confusing...

Kos-Mos: She's activated for the first time at the beginning of the game.

Momo: She was activated/made at near the end of the war I believe...

Shion: A bit younger than Allen I think.

Allen: Whocares about this guy. Honestly?

Junior/Rubedo: He was mass produced along with his other models as fighters...
he looks 12 or so but he just can't grow older.

Ziggy: A relic of the past getting machine parts for his bodies to become a full-fledged machine. Over 80 years old I believe.

Chaos: No one really knows but he seems to be an astral being beyond this world that's existed for a long time. I can't wait to see Chaos's real purpose...

Junior is my favorite character so far into the series. He's an insightful/mature guy trapped in a young body with a thing for guns.

It's an Athlon 64 3200+ and the screencaps were taken with Cool&Quiet enabled while leeching and doing this and that. It gets 60°C max. and is like 45°C idle. I use a really good cpu cooler too...thus...What is your cpu temp?

40 idle, 45 load (@1575MHz) (25°C ambiant temperature), with a watercooling system (not a gay set, no offense for gay people). that cpu is overhot an my aircooler is quite small, that explains the temps.
edit: when i was using an aqua 690 modded (80mm fan), i had the same temperature @1400MHz + more noise


oh you have an a64, u lucky one :p
well, if you use a good cooler, you should be getting at least 10°C less than that.

Ah, oops, forgot I'd done that... it's a habit. Regular icon/shortcut names are boring, plus I often put short bits of info I need to remember on the desktop, so I click on an icon and it reminds me of something I need to do.

After the last time I installed a style from their site I had to remove 4 separate adware packages. I just don't need that headache. I really hate adware/spyware.
