Certainly in the late 90s, France had a different (and often) better selection of anime than that available in Britian.

NoSanninWa I use StyleXP for diffrent skins Its verry stable on my XP and its free.Don't remember well though ^^

The amount of europeans I know who use English language software, or use it in their day to day lives (people who's first language isn't English writing their blogs in English, songs in English, and so on) always surprises me. I also find it embaressing how good they are at our language, and how bad we are at any of theirs. Not that it stops me from shouting ALERTE GENERALE! at people, but still.

Cool pic! BTW, can anyone read Japanese for me? It could still be used as a wallpaper, at least, if you don't mind it being rotated side ways.. The proportion is almost exactly 600x800. So rotate it to 800x600 and it will fit nicely... OR if you have a tablet PC or something that works in a portrait orientation, it will be nice..

OR, if you have an nVidia card, use the rotate function to rotate your screen by 90 degrees. This makes it sorta like a portrait mode. Then, just pick up your monitor and put it on its side :)

Yah, I suppose this is true. It's just that the international students at my school all have their computers in their native languages, Korean, Chinese, Spanish.. Oh well, just practicing my French :) hehe.

My actualy desktop is of 500kbits and is at the same resolution... I could get it at under 250kbits and I guess that if you 'spoil' it, it won't matter : just make sure to tell people about the big size etc :p
And don't forget to kill the quality, better than resizing ;)

After many months, and thanks to Lunnchbox, I've decided to try out a new wallpaper for my handheld.

If I had one of those portrait screens (eg, Sony's NX/R/Z series, Palm's T|3, etc) I would have been able to use the full wallpaper.. But nonetheless, it seems to work out pretty nicely so far.

How exactly do you get to the wallpaper section of the site? sites confusing. lol
Here is the link that goes directly to the wallpaper section: http://www.ramenbowl.com/wp.php . Once the pages loads you can either use the arrow keys or your mouse to scroll to the left(site's scroll bar should be visible) until you see a section that says "DESKTOP SELECTION/WALLPAPER INDEX" where you will see some anime titles(there are more, just scroll down). Click whichever anime WP's you want to see and to your left the WP will appear with a variety of sizes to choose from. Some anime's have more than 1 WP so just click "next" which is left to the WP preview/sizes. That's it, have fun because they have currently 48 WP's from many series.

:D I got rid of MY recycle bin! No icons on my desktop at all :) Of course I hardly use Windows anymore, but with Linux to remove all your desktop icons all it takes is one click ;) If you want to remove your recycle bin, you have to edit your windows registry. The guide is at Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com). Look under the FAQ/Guide section and you should find it.

It's been a while since I've posted, so here's my current Windows desktop. My Linux one still looks pretty much the same.

Yeah, I finally got my hands on Windows 2000. I'm really, really enjoying the builtin alpha blending provided only in 2000/XP. Very nice. Task bar is blended just for eye candy of course. But hey, it looks really nice IMO. :)

Everything in my Windows environment is pretty much stock. No WindowBlinds, etc, and definately no StyleXP.. cause I don't have XP :heh: However, I find the stock features of the Windows Explorer/taskbar quite functional.

One nice thing to note is that all the icons in the task bar are drag and drop friendly. Most ppl probably know this, but how many people use it? Example, if I want to open a file in notepad that isn't associated with it, I just drag and drop it onto the Notepad icon in the task bar, which is always visible. Just have to be careful that you actually drop it onto the icon though. Else, it will add/move it to the icon folder. :heh:

To feel more at "home" I've also opted for the *nix naming scheme of my disk drives. Hehe, no reason. Though, hda3 really points to my ext3 partition. So what would I have named that otherwise?

Wallpaper is from Comic Party. Just watched Comic Party Revolutions recently, and thought it was pretty funny in its own way.

u should see it when i have winamp running! i turned video overlay on and set it to the 'windows gray' so everything that color gets the visulization(sp?) placed over it. its really something to see your titlebar and any buttons on web pages change color (the start menu, too)! i need to see if i can get a screen shot of it...

I reccomend using Torrent Storm , or some other BT client, 'cuz it will really save alot of CPU instead of running all those seperate programs.

Not in space, they're just 3D abstract wallpapers, my favorite kind. I'd like anime wallpapers more, if I could find enough in 1280 x 854 (or 1280 x 960/1024 that I could crop) or 1600 x 1200, but those are a rare breed. I like my high resolutions. I want a 23" Cinema Display too, so then I'd need widescreen and high res.

But yah.. I've left XFCE4 now.. and as you can see from my screen, I'm back to Fluxbox. I didn't like how I couldn't use iDesk, root-tail, etc with XFCE4. Fluxbox is actually turning out to be nicer than I thought it was. Plus, it seems to be helping my glxgears score.. Was also trying out FVWM2 for a while... but.. yeh.. if you've tried it.. you know that it ain't for the faint of heart... but uwah, the things you can do with it... sugoi...

Thanks! My desktop is from http://clearlypixelated.com/ under the Elements section. "Storm" is the last one in that section. There are more wallpapers with a Chinese character and corresponding design too. Plus, this guy makes some nice vector anime wallpaper. (the specific wallpaper that I am using is here (http://clearlypixelated.com/elements_storm.html), but the site is frames based, so you may want to head over to the main site)

Your desktop is pretty cool too! I like the start menu. You WindowsXP users can really do some neat stuff with it. My Windows is only 2000, so I can't do that hehe. Your colours are really coordinated!

1) The taskbar is hiding, it comes when called :)

2) Yes, it's in response to that. You should read 4chan more! I also have a depiction of the murder in anime style, and some hentai featuring Nevada, but you probably don't want to see any of that.
