Well, since this section is "Fan Art" I decided to do some actual fan art and not just post some art ;)

Really cute! The poses fit the character perfectly, the only thing that struck me odd is the hands.
well, my shot at coloring -to me at least- is going well, I figured id post a WIP, since I wont be able to post it tomarrow ^_^

Well, this looks like it will be a fun thing to color.

I didnt use the right colors, cause I need more knowledge of what colors go good together, I always change things up :P, nice esperchild, thanks for the comments. Where is pepps WIP! :P

hey those pics are good...i recently started cg-ing...and i was wondering...on the hair rite, when i colour it the original lines disappear but i would like them to stay..how do i make em stay? *sorry if ya dont undeerstand what i mean* :D
I use photoshop so I dont know if thisll work for you, but you put the layer you have the hair color on, on multiply (instead of normal)

Yeah thats why i said renas face looks a tad weird. Its supposed to be more roundish and cuter. Still its an awesome job.

BTW, I can still never get over how much of a pansy that littly guy looks like :P (not in your pic, in the whole anime thing, he was just .. yea :P )

I would like to see everyone else's when they are done. This is like on Pendako's forum, they have a section called "Color Me" and people post line art for other to color.
I'm glad other people wanted to color my picture. I'll post the line art when I do another. :D

Here's my shot (my first try at coloring), although I haven't shaded it yet, just the basic colors. Oh well..

btw, you may notice that I've removed a few things from the lineart. Those were things that I didn't know what it was so instead of not coloring them I removed them :heh:
and also, how do you make shadings look that good?? The only tool i've used in photoshop to make shadows is the burn tool, but it doesn't get that good. Is there some other tool?
i usually use the multiply and screen brushes, then maybe a little bit of white on hilights, and black on shadows to give them a little bit more contrast. then blend it w/ smudge tool until it looks like a smooth gradient then blur it so the edges of the gradient aren't easily seen. that's how i do it anyway...
it takes some work

WOW so many good artists. peppstar did you do that with photoshop??? well whatever was used to make it it looks really good. Everyone else who has colored Pep's work is really good as well I could never do that kind of thing in photoshop.

To give it basic coloring like I've done doesn't really require any skill. You just have to zoom in and out and fill in colors :) The shading is the hard part (at least for me)

Yeah, I use Photoshop 7.0. I'm trying to save up for Photoshop CS but I might just wait for a while for the price to drop.

As for being a "pro". Well it depends on your definition of "pro" :D I have been paid for my art for a little over a year now. My portfolio on my website is all of the work that I have been paid to do. Well, at least the published work, I can't post the more recent stuff that hasn't been published yet.
I personally like this piece a lot because I feel that I was able to capture about 80% of the original art style. What was flattering is that I had print outs of this picture for sale at the last show I did and someone thought it was original art and not fan art. The problem was that they thought that I just downloaded the picture and printed it.

When I saw the original drawing I thought it was great, but the colored ones look good enough for a bow... or two :bow: :bow: and I dont give out much bows. You should feel very proud of yourself! :)

thats GREAT! The shading is EXTREMELY well done. I think Rena-chans face looks a bit odd tho (1st page picture)... but still <3
