Checkout my group Revolve’s website for our newest release, an English menu patch for Melty Blood! Please post any comments either in our forums or here, I’ll do my best to keep up! I’m very excited to see what people think of our hard work!

http://www.revolve-trans.org/

I have a torrent server all up and running with a good number of friends seeding, I really wonder how many people will download our patch.

On a side note, this is one of the few times I think I’ve used my account on these forums ^_^;

*edit* updated old link for anyone who wants the new website. The old one is defunct.

On a side note, this is one of the few times I think I’ve used my account on these forums ^_^;

We do have a rule in these forums about posting URLs of affiliated sites

No Spamming
You are not allowed to post the URL and/or name of any website which you are in any way affiliated with to new threads or as replies to threads where mentioning that URL is not relevant and/or the only reason for posting seems to be to advertise the site or product. Offering products for sale or trade is also not allowed and considered spamming. This rule does not apply to signatures. If you are not sure, please ask first by contacting the one of the Administrators or Moderators.

But I believe that since the topic is somewhat relevant to the forum (Games) then it is OK and isn't spam (I don't think the intent of the rule is to prohibit any mention of sites you are affiliated to). The reason for this post is to pre-empt any calls of spam.

I'll also assume that the game in question hasn't had an English release of any sort (sorry, not up on the games licensing front) so it seems all OK. Of course, if anyone knows otherwise please let us know :)

He works for a fan group that subs games. It's pretty much like fansubs, except for Japanese games that never got and probably never will get an English release. His post would be something along the same lines as someone saying "XX Anime Episode 1 has been released by our group. Go check it out!"

No, Melty Blood hasn’t had any English release. Melty Blood is the sequel to the visual novel Tsukihime. The anime based on Tsukihime was recently fansubed and it still archived on this site (Shingetsutan Tsukihime (http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/239.html)). I’m not really advertising the site, but simply trying to let people know what we’ve been up to. Fans translate games like they translate anime, in fact, we’ll eventually have to fun sub Melty Blood’s opening video sequence for the final release.

Melty Blood is also a very fun game (its been talked about here (http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=8187)). Even though Melty Blood was produced as an indepently published game, its very refined and compairs to some of the best 2D fighters out today. There is even a sequel / expansion in development called “Melty Blood ReACT” which is due out sometime this spring (we plan on translating the freely available demo version of this very soon).

The way our patch is designed, you must already have the full version game. The patch we created is based on an official game patch that was released for the games (Nero0623), but we simply added in our own files and hacked in some English strings. This is only a patch and not a complete game, so people that have Melty Blood installed right now only need to download our patch and try it out.

If you want to know more, then have a read of the post two above yours.

then have a look at their website (link given in the first post of this thread) under Melty Blood (http://revolve.emuxhaven.net/melty_blood.html). They give screenshots, game info, along with a short synopses.

We have a very good translator who is working on story mode, and he has just sent me his newest work. He has completed up to the first fight between Sion and Shiki. Inserting the script into the game still requires us to jump a technical hertal, because the font in the game looks like T E R R I N I G M A right now.

Translation wise, I’m going to have our translator focus on the online manual for Melty Blood next.

Anyone willing to take a look may feel free! The font isen't a standard Windows font (its a bitmap font from a file in data02.p I think?? I'm not at home to conferm this). I don't really plan on tackleing the font for another few weeks, as I'm trying to improve my own health and take care of some issues I'm having at collage.

Is this an upgrade to Act Cadenza or a North American port? Because the Japanese version of Act Cadenza has been out for awhile now.

I have updated the link in the original post. The story mode patch is in closed beta right now, and should be released publicly in a few months.

The development for the ReACT patch is also going smoothly and should be released sometime afterwards.

To be honest with you, I'm a Melty Blood Player myself at Sacred Red Moon. But you don't really need to translate much, It's been translated already, including the story. Although just posted around for you to read what is being said in the story/menu/etc, no actually patch and such. And I wonder if this will effect the NetPlay aswell(On MBR)? Not saying your work sucks though, I'd be happy and +Rep you like hell once things goes well and it's released xD

The fact that many translations already exist is why I will not do another Type-Moon game personally after this. The fans for the most part, have angered me and seemed to have rendered our patch useless... Well, not quite. Our translation quality takes a lot of those things an makes them total crap, let's not forget consistency.

All to be shown for story mode as some point soon. We're in the second stage of our beta testing.

Question

Wait...the story has been translated already? Where? Ive never heard of something like this...

He means the story trans patch is done and has gone into beta testing phase 2, but it's not been released to the public yet.

Question

Erm judging from Aka and Xev's posts, they seem to be saying that many other translations of the story mode have been done already....especially the part where Aka says that mirror moon wont need to do much work as its already been done, and Xev says lots of translations already exist.
