I'm someone who constantly looks for ways to enjoy myself and sometimes I'm very worried and unsure about my future. I get overwhelmed sometimes and when I get into those funks I usually just decide on continuing to enjoy myself, whatever that may be and just let answers come to me when they do.

So I'm a very joyous person but at the same time I can be overly hard on myself, but the joyous side is what wins out in the end. This song I think best represents that. And it happens to be a song from my favorite band Counting Crows.

Just to keep it anime-related, here's Jihaku, the famous amv for the song.

I don't know why but the first time I heard this song, it instantly clicked... I've loved it ever since. It's a song about optimism presented in an aggressive manner. A song about proving people wrong. I might be tooting my own horn here but I think it reflects me fairly well. Its a song about strength and taking insults and mistakes and making the best of it. Not letting anybody, *ahem*, take the best of you. The swift changes between a powerful chorus and a soft chorus gives an exhilarating and calm-down kind of feel which I love. The powerful bass drum driving your heart and the up-lifting guitar being strummed so fast. It reflects my frustration in seeing people get beaten down by something they don't deserve. It reflects my anger when people tell me I suck at something, and the adrenaline rushing through my body eager to prove them wrong. The singer's scream (Dave Grohl, right?) sort of feels like it's screaming for me... Like it's relieving some pressure built in. I wish I could scream like that to just get rid of people's insecurities and feelings of crap. And not only is this song about standing up for yourself, it's asking the listener if they're standing up for themselves as well. I hate seeing my friends being treated like crap. No, I won't go and butt into their business to "fix it". I take the approach of shoving the words "stand up for what you believe in" in their face and make sure that no one takes the best of them...

It represents my personality because, personally, I hate to see people being lonely or bullied. I know how this feels; people I called my friends did that to me a long time ago just because I didn't like violence and God only knows what else. I went to a Catholic school during the time so that should pretty much sum it up. :\

But this also applies to my own feelings towards the subject of bullying. I'm a very spiritual person and I think God loves everyone no matter what or who they are. So this song pretty much says that.
