quick summary

Chapter 1
- Rin defeated Ichika in IS match.
- Ichika told that Chifuyu mentioned that Byaku Shiki and Akatsubaki were originally a pair. They were created to move side by side, both a deterrence for each other (One for exhausting the energy, one for recover).The 5 girls and Ichika were eating and talking about the partnership when there is a tournament. Rin, Cecilia, Laura and Houki wanted to partner with Ichika, but Ichika said he wanted to partner with Charlotte

- Tatenashi announced to the school "Battle to steal Ichika" for the Academy Cultural Fair
- Laura proposed to do maid cafe, which the whole class was shocked, and when Ichika report to Chifuyu, she laughed to her heart content
- Cecilia was dissatisfied with her current achievements. The ranking was Laura, Charlotte, Rin, Houki, Ichika and lastly, Cecilia. Although, Cecilia is the only one with A aptitude for the BT weapon. Charlotte cheered her up and invite Cecilia to the cafe
- Utsuho and Nohohon were introduced as Student Council member, and that they are childhood friends of Tatenashi. The

-Tatenashi challenged Ichika to a match in their hakama in the dojo. The condition are: Tatenashi losses if she falls to the mat, and Ichika losses if he can't continue. Tatenashi can use martial arts, old Japanese Budou, and Capoeira O.o
- Ichika fell into Tatenashi's breast, and he thought that they are no more no less than Houki........That's not the problem man >.> . "Ichika-kun no ecchi"---------->Air Combo, and Ichika lose the match.
- Scene changed to Laura, as she searched for her wife, because that day IS coach is her. She secretly activated her IS, before Chifuyu came. Chifuyu said Ichika was at the infirmary, and Laura took her leave. Chifuyu then "Yare Yare"
- Ichika dreamed of a black-haired girl, in a red-white miko attire. He said that she was beautiful, even though he couldn't see her face.
- Ichika woke up with Tatenashi at his side, humming. Ichika thought that Tatenashi is not a girl name, and Tatenashi explained that "Tatenashi" is a name for the head of the Sarashiki family, and she is the 17th head of family
- Laura found Ichika, proceed to destroy the target. Tatenashi prevent Laura from deploying the IS with her folding fan on Laura's forehead. They then went to the 3rd Arena where Cecilia and Charlotte were training. Tatenashi announced that from now on she will be Ichika's personal coach, creating jelly among those 3 girls.
- They discussed something about Shooter Flow, and Tatenashi praised Laura for being sharp. She then open her folding fan, and the word "Splendid" was written. Cecilia and Charlotte trained with Ichika. They both angry at Ichika for not being serious in the training

-Ichika continue to train with Tatenashi. At one point, Charlotte said to Ichika to become better, before leaving to take data. Ichika noticed how Charlotte mood wasn't good, but still don't know why. Tatenashi ordered him to concentrate, and tease Ichika for thinking about girls, and how ecchi he is. Ichika said no, and Tatenashi replied if that if that was not the case, he was thinking about boys then. "How lascivious" :heh:
-Tatenashi continued to train Shooter Flow with Ichika, saying that he must remember it as everyone except Houki has learned it.
- After the training, Ichika met with Utsuho. He called her Nohotoke Senpai, but Utsuho preferred him to call by her name, so Ichika called her Utsuho senpai. He wanted to ask what kind of person is Tatenashi? Utsuho said that Tatenashi has many things to think

Ichika on the outside of his room closed the door to analyze the situation. He opened the door and found that Tatenashi with her naked apron "Is it me? Is it me? Or is it me?". Then she opened her folding fan, but this time "諸行無常" (All Wordly Things are Transitory) was written :heh:. Ichika asked Tatenashi to wear some clothes, but when he turned around, Tatenashi showed her back, and she was wearing a bikini
- Scene changed to Houki, who walked briskly with a smile. That is because she got to cook for Ichika. She went to Ichika's room and knocked the door. Ichika said to come again later, as she pushed the door when Houki tried to open it. Tatenashi then said Ichika is desperate because his "cheating" was getting exposed. Houki heard her and summoned Akatsubaki sword and slashed the door. Ichika tried to explained, but the problem was Tatenashi's front appearance (naked apron). Houki tried to slash Ichika, but Tatenashi stopped it with her Lance. Houki lose the duel. The three of them eat the sushi that Houki brought for Ichika
- Because of Ichika and Houki didn't ate that much, Tatenashi finished the remaining sushi. Then Tatenashi proceed with the talk. She knew that Houki couldn't activate Kenran Butou since then. Houki turned to Ichika with a glance "Did you tell her?". Ichika turned his face away. Tatenashi explained that to activate the One Off Ability, the pilot's mental state needs to be tuned/aligned to the IS. Tatenashi said that if Houki can reproduce her emotion during activating Kenran Butou, she can activate it again. Houki asked if she can resupply other IS energy, and Tatenashi said that she don't know, and that they have to try it. Tatenashi then commented that Charlotte is good pilot because she can tune to her core during the energy bypass to resupply Ichika. Ichika said the Charlote is an excellence person, and can tuned her wavelength to anyone. Houki was jelly and kicked Ichika's leg. Ichika then brought tea, when he saw Tatenashi and Houki were laughing together

- trouble no 2: It was after a midterm test where in the room were all Japanese with black hair, and Tatenashi came into the class to have lunch with Ichika. Tatenashi fed Ichika, much to other girls jelly (at Ichika, not at Tatenashi). Houki was mad, then Tatenashi fed Houki, and Houki calmed down. Tatenshi asked her how was the taste, and Houki said it was delicious. Tatenashi then shared her bento (5 boxes) with the whole class
- trouble no 3: Tatenashi in the school swimsuit entered the shower room, where Ichika was bathing. Teasing continue :D

Houki came, jelly, and leave to take order for other table. Ichika commented that Rin is cute while eating Pocky, Rin mistook Ichika for saying she is cute, but Ichika said that she is cute like a squirrel. Rin got angry, both of them stood up, then Ichika heard the sound of opening folding fan. This time the fan was written with 羅刹 (Rasetsu = Rakshasa
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rakshasa). Tatenashi was in a maid dress, the same as Ichika's class. Tatenashi ordered a tea. Then Kouruko (from the newspaper club) came in. She praised Tatenashi in the maid dress. She called Tatenashi "Tacchan". Rin then took her leave, and Ichika said that he probably will come to her class.
- Ichika took picture with each of the girls starting with Cecila, Laura, Charlotte, and Houki
- A woman from Mitsurugi (a company to develop IS parts) introduced herself, Makigami Reiko and wanted Ichika to use the company product
- Ichika called Dan to invite him to the festival. After the call, Dan went "Yattaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
- Dan came to the Academy, and met Utsuho. Utsuho then checked his ticket on whose invitation. Dan thinks that Utsuho is a beauty, then a cutie. He tried to start a talk with her (Today's weather is great), but immediately finished. Ichika came to pick him, and they went visiting the academy
- Ichika asked who was the girl that Dan met earlier. Dan answered a cute person (可愛人), but Ichika asked whether it was cute girl (可愛子). Dan then said she was probably someone older. Rin then brought drinks for them. They chatted. Ichika was then called to his classroom by Charlotte http://i.imgur.com/3ElFDs.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/3ElFD.jpg).
- Scene changed to Charlotte and her cooking, followed by Laura, then Cecilia, and lastly Houki
-Back to Tatenashi. She wanted all the girls to wear the dress. This time, her fan is written with "迫撃" (Close Attack). Ichika wore a prince attire, and was handed with the Tiara. Thus begin the battle to steal the tiara from Ichika, with all the girls trying to hit Ichika, while Charlotte on the defense. Cecilia wasn't in the novel illustration, as she used her sniper
- Ichika got away, and met Makigami again. This time she wanted to take the Byakushiki. The woman said she is one of the secret society, Phantom Task, and her name is Autumn. She then continue to shoot with 8 cannon from her IS. It was then revealed that her IS is "Arachne". Ichika was trapped in a large web, and current flow through the web to torture Ichika.
-Autumn tried to kill Ichika, but then Tatenashi to the rescue :D. Autumn tried to stab Tatenashi with her IS's "legs"

- Ichika thought that Autumn killed Tatenashi, and got mad, but then Tatenashi was alright. What was stabbed was a fake, created by water.
- Tatenashi introduced her IS "Mysterious Lady". Autumn was angry because she with her 8 "legs" couldn't beat Tatenashi with a lance. Autumn then used her 2 Katara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katara_%28dagger%29) from her waist, and continue to shoot at Tatenashi. The water block all the bullet, and Autumn realized that the water is not just ordinary water. Tatenashi then explained the water is filled with nanocmahine that carried IS energy. Autumn asked who is Tatenashi again, but Tatenashi replied that it was troublesome to do self-introduction twice

The face when you realized your own blunder". Tatenashi smiled like an angle, but her facial expression is like a death god with a sickle. Tatenashi said that her IS "霧纏淑女" (literally translated as Mist-wrapped Lady), the Mysterious Lady. The fog that is composed of nanomachine then exploded. This ability is called Clear Passion. Autumn didn't gave up, but Ichika was at her back, and resummoned his IS
- Ichika attacked with his Yukihira. Autumn detached her IS from main body, and self destructed it. Ichika used his body to cover Tatenashi from the explosion. Autumn escaped with the IS core, and all the parts and armor were destroyed, making it impossible to trace the attacker
-Ichika-kun no ecchi. Tatenashi then picked up the tiara, making her the winner
- Meanwhile, Autum got away from the Academy "Shit, Shit, Shit". She then remembered a girl eyes that always looked down on other people/s ability. The girl is the one that prepared the "Remover" and the infiltration plan. Autumn want to kill the girl for "putting mud on her face", and won't care for what Squall will have to say. Autumn drink water before Laura appeared, and Autumn immediately knew that it's a German IS. Laura also knew that Autumn was from the Phantom Task. Laura then warned Autumn not to move, as Cecilia already targeted her with the sniper.
- Laura asked Autumn where did she obtained the American 2nd Generation IS (Arachne), but Autumn refused to answer. Cecilia told Laura to get away, as another IS was coming. Laura then removed her eye patch, and activate the hyper sensor "Wodan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odin) Auger". Cecilia knew the IS that shot at Laura; BT Unit No 2, Silent Zephyr. It was created from the data of Unit No. 1, Blue Tears.
- Next thing to happen that surprised Cecilia was that the enemy beam draw an arc, bending and shot down her missile bit. Cecilia said that herself is the pilot with the highest BT aptitude. Silent Zephyr's pilot then spoke to Autumn that she came to get her. Autumn was angry because the pilot didn't address her properly. M then belittled Laura even tough Laura is an "Advanced" (the furigana is read as "Advanced", and the Japanese Kanji are 遺伝子強化素体 (Genetically Strengthen Prototype))
- Laura was shocked, and asked how did Autumn knew about that, and Autum said there is no reason to answer her question. http://i.imgur.com/Ym200s.jpg (http://i.imgur.com/Ym200.jpg)They escaped, and Cecilia said to Laura to contact the academy, as she wanted to pursue, but Laura stopped her, because she knew that they will lose if they continue the fight.
- Night time. Tatenashi explained to Ichika about the organization has started to move, and their target was Ichika, and the line of defense is Tatenashi to live together with Icihka. Ichika then asked who is Tatenashi real identity. She answered "A kind onee-san" :D. Then she said that the Sarashiki is an anti-ANBU ANBU", while laughing and opened her fan. This time it was written "常在戦場" (Resident Battleground)
- Next day, Tatenashi announced the winner of the battle, the Student Council. Ichika became the Vice President, and Tatenashi, Utsuho, and Nohohon congratulated him. Utsuho then asked the name of Ichika's friend that came during the School festival
- Scene changed to Tatenashi reporting about Ichika and the Phantom Task

In a high class mansion, top floor, Autumn raged at a kid (GAKI), and pulled out a knife to carve the kid's face. She was stopped by Squall who came out from the bathroom in her bath robe. It was then told to the reader that both Autumn and Squall are lovers. Squall called Autumn to wash her hair. "M" then went out, after Squall told her to tune Silent Zephyr. Final scene is that M talked to herself that finally her revenge is going to start, and she can meet a person ["nee-san"] (the kanji is Orimura Chifuyu, but is read as nee-san)

I omitted details regarding the harem antics and battle, and I'm may be wrong for the Romanization, as I kinda lose the steam as I typed. I apologized in advance. Some points that I like to note
- I have to admit, the first time I heard about Katar/Katara was when 00 Gundam 7-Sword was introduced (like 2-3 years ago?) :heh:
- The one that planned the infiltration? May be it wasn't Squall, and certainly wasn't M.
- 素体 (Sotai) is translated as "Prime Field", but I remembered that the subtitle for VOTOMS used "Prototype" for Fyana . So I could be wrong about this.
- I like it when Tatenashi played with her folding fan :heh:
- In this volume the society is not called as Phantom Task, but 亡国機業 (Boukoku Kigyou = Fallen Country Machine/Textile Industry?) http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s50/haiku-icons/onion%20head/th_onionhead_172.gif

The more I read (and re-read) IS, the more I want the next volume to come out, dammit. I'm waiting for:

- Ichika "man-ing up" regarding his skills, and telling everybody to piss off because he has more important issues (Madoka + Chifuyu) to take care of than everybody antics (the harem getting angry at him for being a blockhead...girls, you fell in love with a blockhead, you signed for that crap, DEAL WITH IT INSTEAD OF GETTING ANGRY)

- If there is a relationship between Tabane and Phantom Task

Tabane is the IS creator..so to put it simply...Tabane is God to whomever use IS and can destroy it whenever she want, or make some 'interesting' scenario like "IS core jammer" ability inside her Mobile IS Lab.
Phantom Task may be want to use her like that:D

- A woman from Mitsurugi (a company to develop IS parts) introduced herself, Makigami Reiko and wanted Ichika to use the company product
- Ichika called Dan to invite him to the festival. After the call, Dan went "Yattaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
- Dan came to the Academy, and met Utsuho. Utsuho then checked his ticket on whose invitation. Dan thinks that Utsuho is a beauty, then a cutie. He tried to start a talk with her (Today's weather is great), but immediately finished. Ichika came to pick him, and they went visiting the academy
- Ichika asked who was the girl that Dan met earlier. Dan answered a cute person (可愛人), but Ichika asked whether it was cute girl (可愛子). Dan then said she was probably someone older. Rin then brought drinks for them. They chatted. Ichika was then called to his classroom
- Scene changed to Charlotte and her cooking, then Laura, Cecilia, and Houki.
-Back to Tatenashi. She wanted all the girls to wear the dress. This time, her fan is written with "迫撃" (Close Attack). Ichika wore a prince attire, and was handed with the Tiara. Thus begin the battle to steal the tiara from Ichika, with all the girls trying to hit Ichika, while Charlotte on the defense. Cecilia wasn't in the novel illustration, as she used her sniper
- Ichika got away, and met Makigami again. This time she wanted to take the Byakushiki. The fight started, and when Ichika asked who is she, she said that she is one of the bad guy. Ichika got mad and said not to joke. The woman said she is one of the secret society, Phantom Task, and her name is Autumn. She then continue to shoot with 8 cannon from her IS. It was then revealed that her IS is "Arachne". Ichika was trapped in a large web, and current flow through the web to torture Ichika.
-Autumn tried to kill Ichika, but then Tatenashi to the rescue :D. Autumn tried to stab Tatenashi with her IS's "legs"

- Ichika thought that Autumn killed Tatenashi, and got mad, but then Tatenashi was alright. What was stabbed was a fake, created by water.
- Tatenashi introduced her IS "Mysterious Lady". Autumn was angry because she with her 8 "legs" couldn't beat Tatenashi with a lance. Autumn then used her 2 Katara (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katara_%28dagger%29) from her waist, and continue to shoot at Tatenashi. The water block all the bullet, and Autumn realized that the water is not just ordinary water. Tatenashi then explained the water is filled with nanocmahine that carried IS energy. Autumn asked who is Tatenashi again, but Tatenashi replied that it was troublesome to do self-introduction twice
- Tatenashi then asked Autumn whether she know that in the Academy, the Student Council President is the strongest. Autumn said, "Hell I care". Tatenashi then questioned Autumn, "Isn't this room kinda hot?". Then she rephrased her question, "Isn't this room's humidity kinda high". "That's right. I wanted to see that face of yours. The face when you realized your own blunder". Tatenashi smiled like an angle, but her facial expression is like a death god with a sickle. Tatenashi said that her IS "霧纏淑女" (literally translated as Mist-wrapped Lady), the Mysterious Lady. The fog that is composed of nanomachine then exploded. This ability is called Clear Passion. Autumn didn't gave up, but Ichika was at her back, and resummoned his IS
- Ichika attacked with his Yukihira. Autumn detached her IS from main body, and self destructed it. Ichika used his body to cover Tatenashi from the explosion. Autumn escaped with the IS core, and all the parts and armor were destroyed, making it impossible to trace the attacker
-Ichika-kun no ecchi. Tatenashi then picked up the tiara, making her the winner
- Meanwhile, Autum got away from the Academy "Shit, Shit, Shit". She then remembered a girl eyes that always looked down on other people/s ability. The girl is the one that prepared the "Remover" and the infiltration plan. Autumn want to kill the girl for "putting mud on her face", and won't care for what Squall will have to say. Autumn drink water before Laura appeared, and Autumn immediately knew that it's a German IS. Laura also knew that Autumn was from the Phantom Task. Laura then warned Autumn not to move, as Cecilia already targeted her with the sniper.
- Laura asked Autumn where did she obtained the American 2nd Generation IS (Arachne), but Autumn refused to answer. Cecilia told Laura to get away, as another IS was coming. Laura then removed her eye patch, and activate the hyper sensor "Wodan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odin) Auger". Cecilia knew the IS that shot at Laura; BT Unit No 2, Silent Zephyr. It was created from the data of Unit No. 1, Blue Tears.
- Next thing to happen that surprised Cecilia was that the enemy beam draw an arc, bending and shot down her missile bit. Cecilia said that herself is the pilot with the highest BT aptitude. Silent Zephyr's pilot then spoke to Autumn that she came to get her. Autumn was angry because the pilot didn't address her properly. She then belittled Laura even tough Laura is an "Advanced" (the furigana is read as "Advanced", and the Japanese Kanji are 遺伝子強化素体 (Genetically Strengthen Prototype))
- Laura was shocked, and asked how did Autumn knew about that, and Autum said there is no reason to answer her question. They escaped, and Cecilia said to Laura to contact the academy, as she wanted to pursue, but Laura stopped her, because she knew that they will lose if they continue the fight.
- Night time. Tatenashi explained to Ichika about the organization has started to move, and their target was Ichika, and the line of defense is Tatenashi to live together with Icihka. Ichika then asked who is Tatenashi real identity. She answered "A kind onee-san" :D. Then she said that the Sarashiki is an anti-ANBU ANBU", while laughing and opened her fan. This time it was written "常在戦場" (Resident Battleground)
- Next day, Tatenashi announced the winner of the battle, the Student Council. Ichika became the Vice President, and Tatenashi, Utsuho, and Nohohon congratulated him. Utsuho then asked the name of Ichika's friend that came during the School festival
- Scene changed to Tatenashi reporting about Ichika and the Phantom Task

In a high class mansion, top floor, Autumn raged at a kid (GAKI), and pulled out a knife to carve the kid's face. She was stopped by Squall who came out from the bathroom in her bath robe. It was then told to the reader that both Autumn and Squall are lovers. Squall called Autumn to wash her hair. "M" then went out, after Squall told her to tune Silent Zephyr. Final scene is that M talked to herself that finally her revenge is going to start, and she can meet a person ["nee-san"] (the kanji is Orimura Chifuyu, but is read as nee-san)

I omitted details regarding the harem antics and battle, and I'm may be wrong for the Romanization, as I kinda lose the steam as I typed. I apologized in advance. Some points that I like to note
- I have to admit, the first time I heard about Katar/Katara was when 00 Gundam 7-Sword was introduced (like 2-3 years ago?) :heh:
- The one that planned the infiltration? May be it wasn't Squall, and certainly wasn't M.
- 素体 (Sotai) is translated as "Prime Field", but I remembered that the subtitle for VOTOMS used "Prototype" for Fyana . So I could be wrong about this.
- I like it when Tatenashi played with her folding fan :heh:

I forgot to mention this. In vol 5, one of the reason for Cecilia is at the Academy is to gather data regarding the BT Weapon. She is the pilot with the highest aptitude A for BT weapon. No wonder she can recreate the feat by Silent Zephyr pilot, like in vol 6 (bending beam)

The "Remover" that Autumn mentioned was used to extract Byaku Shiki's core. The core takes the shape of a Crystal. Ichika was stripped of his IS, and Tatenashi fighting Autumn gave him the chance to recover.

To be honest, I won't be surprised if all the farces that occurred in IS world are because family matters between the senior members of Shinonono and Orimura, that the younger ones have to clean up their mess

hmm...
Here's the trail as long as we know:
1.Tabane Shinono create some unbelievable machine from light particle, but her discovery shunned down by the world

2.Tabane still create IS, "The White Knight" using her neighbor as Guinea Pig (Orimura Chifuyu)

3.After the last development Tabane turn mischievous and plan to show off her creation by hacking missile all over the world and direct it to Japan

4.All Worlds eyes opened to such a display of power and defeated in the road to capture the new things (White Knight)

5.Shinono get scolded by Chifuyu (that still cooperate with her to fend off the missile)

6.World Power Balance re-shaped after IS technology shared to the globe, including social status between gender

7.IS first champion (Chifuyu) win the tournament (seriously, how the heck they even think can defeat such a mother of all IS pilot, duh!)

8.2nd tournament bring Ichika his trauma of being Kidnapped

9.Chifuyu cut all ties with her IS as well as giving cold shoulder to Tabane, for because her invention, Ichika's life been in danger (since he is male and can't pilot an IS to protect him self)

10.Chifuyu talent still highly praised and she's been a tutor for IS in various place, earn herself an enemy and ally and the money to raise Ichika as well

11.Tabane, who want to re-concile with her own sister (Houki) and Chifuyu, plan to make Ichika the only male who can pilot an IS, and create one for him, from his sister former IS core, as one of an IS pairing (Byaku Shiki and Houki's IS)

12.Tabane hack Ichika's place to do Highschool entrance exam and change it to IS academy, where he meet with his own sister, as well as his personal IS (unfinished Byaku Shiki)

hmm...between 10 and 11 sure a lot happened, but after 12 is the most interesting things began hehehehehe:D

So I get this free time :P

The event where the 5 girls were eating together with Ichika. When Ichika said he wanted to team up with Charlotte, none of them were mad. Charlotte asked why would Ichika do that, Ichika answered because "We teamed up before". Charlotte was dissapoint with that answer, and the 4 girls were angry at Ichika. Based on the speech pattern

Rin: You're a terrible person..
Houki: What do you think a girl's heart is,
Cecilia: Sometimes we just can't forgive Ichika-san's oafishness, desu-wa :p
Laura: Charlotte, I'll treat you to cafe au lait, so cheer up

And Charlotte thanks the four of them. Rin is tsundere to Charlotte, and Charlotte said Rin was kind

Put it like this: When new girl is to enter the harem, all the old girls will relapse to their tsundere/yandere behavior. That's why when Chifuyu ordered Charlotte to shoot Ichika, she didn't argue, and didn't even want to hear explanation from Ichika. Ichika even saw her blood vessel at the forehead :heh:

After Tatenashi knocked Houki's sword that it went to the wall, Houki dismount the IS, just like Laura. The talk started, and Tatenashi called Houki "文武両道" (Accomplished in both literacy and military arts) pg 88. Houki said she's not like that, and Tatenashi replied that Houki doesn't need to be modest. After Tatenashi and Ichika praised Charlotte for being an excellent student, Houki kicked. Tatenashi wanted to drink tea, so Ichika went to make it. When Ichika was making the tea, he monologue how Houki's mood has been bobbing up and down intensely as of lately. He said Houki has made many friends in the Kendo club, and in good relation with Rin, Charlotte and the others. But what troubles him is that Houki who didn't progress well in IS didn't receive any help with the IS (pg 92)

The event continued with Tatenashi talking about her personal IS, She also said that she's the strongest, that both Houki and Ichika were stiffen. Tatenashi offered to coach Houki and Ichika, but to coach them separately. Houki accepted. They drank their tea, and Houki noticed Tatenashi personal things. Tatenashi said she's going to stay with Ichika because she's the personal coach. Houki wanted to stay together, but Tatenashi said "Dame", as it's a room for two. Tatenashi assured Houki that she won't touch Ichika, but she's not sure whether Ichika will do the same. Houki's mad at Ichika, and Ichika said to Tatenashi to stop teasing Houki :heh: pg 95-97

So if there is one thing to take seriously in vol 5 other than the Phantom Task, is the anxiety of Cecilia and Houki regarding their progress with IS. And the results are shown in vol 6 (bending beam and Kenran Butou)

Baka Test has two pairings (in the works) that doesn't involve the main harem.

Hayate no Gotoku used to have two harems (of sort), as well as a bit of other pairings.

To aru majutsu no Index has three separate harems in the making as well as numerous other pairings.

Point being- the best friend character doesn't always need to be screwed out of love.... Ichika is a horrible friend.

Not making excuses for the author, but that's just a habit for most other VNs, and considering that it's mostly about the main guy getting a girlfriend while the secondary folks will be lucky to even get one girlfriend. And yeah, everyone hates Ichika for having a harem that he's completely stupid to realize even though they're just 3mm away from his nose.

I got that impression from the afterword, so now that you asked me, I just went to check.

He used to work at the eroge-making company Alice Soft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AliceSoft). He quit in 2007 before writing IS in 2009. Keep in mind that he's only 29 years old.

Being shipped by Chifuyu: Laura (Chifuyu don't have anything against Houki, but her sister)
Most end-of-event events: Houki
Most massage: Tatenashi and Cecilia
Made Ichika doki-doki the most: 1. Houki and Charlotte 2. Tatenashi & Laura 3. The rests
Rin had her moments, but it's difficult when you're in another class. Just don't complain if the author put Ichika, Rin and Kanzashi in the same class in the 2nd year, while the other girls are in different ones

And I don't think Tabane is shipping her sister with Ichika. So many times she put both of them and surrounding people in danger, and if Tabane is indeed part of the Textile Society.....And IMO, the way Chifuyu worded about Akatsubaki made it sound like both Byaku Shiki and Akatsubaki are not originally meant for Ichika and Houki

It seems like Cecilia, Laura, and Ichika have some karma with Madoka, so yeah, expect her to join the harem next :heh:

And IMO, the way Chifuyu worded about Akatsubaki made it sound like both Byaku Shiki and Akatsubaki are not originally meant for Ichika and Houki
IMO it's originally meant for Chifuyu and her to-be-boyfriend (who ever it is)
But Chifuyu already hate her, so Shirogfki turned to Byakushiki, may be thinking the pilot still have Orimura for their family name:heh:

I am fairly new when it comes to anime but from what i have observed so far they would be mad not to do another series of something which has sold 20k+ BDs every volume (they being 8-bit and the author).

Personally i can see a new series announcement happening after the OVA release but i guess you are kinda right to be skeptical, the world isn't always clear cut :)

The furigana for 亡国機業 in vol 5 was ぼうこくきぎょう (Boukoku Kigyou) pg 189 & 209, while in vol 6 it was ファントムタスク (Phantom Task) pg 187, which means the society will probably have something to do with Textile :heh:

Probably because he always in charge of the Kitchen when Chifuyu earn money for the Ingredient and life necessities.

One of my friend (from different society) once trick his girlfriend by pretending to buy a cake (which actually made by her own hand) that they ate together. She said she's never eat such delicious cake. Look like for a chef, even the tastiest food they made, quite plain on their tongue, unless it made by others, or involved a little trick:D

and..yeah! you must treasure your food, Sanji from One Piece share same experience with me that make us never throw away any foods.

While lot's of people throw away their still half eaten food (burgers,Pizza,etc), thousands of starving poor soul around the globe (like in Somalia), more than willing to kill each other to get that piece.;)

What do you mean OP? She and Ichika both took out the Golems, but not without Kanzashi and Tatenashi's help. So trained person can't become good? Or do you don't like the characters you less favored to become good?

I wonder what will happen if Rin beats Charlotte or Laura next?

I think he means when she suddenly spiked to S rank aptitude. The only thing keeping her balanced with the other characters despite having a superior suit was her low aptitude level, without this limit she can pretty much beat all the other heroines plus Ichika in a straight up fight now. The fact that she was naturally gifted but was held back by her feelings of resenment/angst is also a bit of an asspull for some.

Why the government put her in the Academy forcefully without providing her with initial training or a personal IS or at least an easy access to training IS is beyond me. Tatenashi said that she's good at teaching, so I don't see any reason Houki can't be better at piloting, because she trained differently by different teacher

I personally have no problems with any character no matter how high their power level gets. Phantom task members have shown themselves capable of handling multiple IS units even when they're outnumbered so I'm not really worried about the characters going god mode sue:heh:

if I recall correctly, Cecilia's been at the
bottom since Volume 1 when Ichika, well,
you know...

Here, remember the Gospel incident? Well,
based on their individual performances there
you can clearly see that even when she just
got Akatsubaki she was already displaying
skills that can't be said to belong to someone
who is supposedly at the bottom.

@ Detective- They do matter somewhat, It's mentioned that all IS pilot representatives need a high aptitude to be picked and stay in their position, Cecilia even worries in volume 5 since her ranking is A- she could possibly be replaced with someone else, so it's either the author forgot that the aptitude doesn't matter at all or its a retcon

Even with all the training she received, she still got hit by another Golem after she performed an Iai (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iaijutsu)on a Golem that has been weakened by Tatenashi (vol 7 pg 248). There are other instances that she got hit by the Golems, just wait for the translation

If you want to call someone Over Powered, make sure he/she is not hittable, and can beat everything/everyone without any effort, which is no one in the IS verse, yet.

And being hostile? If the author had choose another girls to be the main, say Rin, or Cecilia, and got the same treatment as Houki, I would still defend her. ;)

My devout thanks to Teh Ping for beginning the translation of Volume 5. I was really looking forward to this volume because of Tatenashi, and I was not disappointed.

I recently checked the entries of unicorn and banshe in the wikia, and somehow it struck me that Chifuyu's IS is called Kurezakura, while Ichika's is Byakushiki, and given M introduction, the fight I mentioned might happen...of course, neither of them dies, because this is IS...I hope

IMHO, a crossover works if there's enough of a reason to bridge the two--either their worlds are close enough that you can reasonably get away with it (EG Buffy and Supernatural, for example) or one of them has a reasonable way of getting into the other world (Doctor Who and ONORE DECADE!).

But crossing over two wholly different worlds and having to write some excuse for both of them combining together is very hard to do and not seem crazy. I've tried time and time again to make a Super Robot Wars fanfic, but I just keep giving up because it's too ridiculous to maintain a believable story between them,

I just noticed that in theTV series, she's with Nonohon and Kanalin in the first ep as part of a trio--then strangely never turns up with them again for the rest of the series (her position is taken over by Handball player Aikawa from then on). Even more annoying because I loved the Charu segment in Vol6...and then they kind of kill it with her portrayal in 7...

The formula is:

1- Introduces new(s) character(s).
2- Derail/ a character.
3- A third Character will get benefis from it.

The way I see it is:

1. Obviously who they are: Tatenashi anda Kanzashi.
2. The possible victims: Charlotte and Cecilia.
3. The one who gets benefits: Houki, be it with screen time or power-up.

I didn't read vol.7 yet, so thats my intuition.

I'm not a Char Fanboy yet still feel humiliated by that.:(

That's fine. To me, Charlotte had died in vol 6, well her nice and understanding personality that is.- I am pretty annoyed at that as well. Focusing on a new set of characters and harem antics is kind of killing the characterizations of all the previous characters...

Besides, it's the authors light novel so he can do whatever he wants with the characters, complaining and commenting about it is just another way to express ourselves and/or kill some time. We don't really have a problem with him and we're glad he's writing this light novel up to now

At least we aren't like those Idol master fanatics who actually gave the voice actors threatening phone calls when their "Idol" did something they didn't want.

Complete? What do you mean complete? I agreed with Hayate to work on the SS too. That'll take another two weeks later. Then it's BTS romance stories, Shana vol 16 and 22 before I take the top choice. (I got my list packed full, and there's still Gundam Unicorn for February.)

Sorry, I meant complete as in all the major light novel numbers of Infinite Stratos being translated. I usually don't apply side stories to these.

Man your list is packed! Gotta wonder how fast you can do these things and how much free time you spend on them.

I'm guessing you got e-mails threatening you to translate faster or something? If you did then hopefully they stopped since we should be feeling grateful for the translations and not impatient for them.

Ichika's heart throbbeds when she called him an old man back in volume 1, after he was banged by Houki and Cecilia...........Rin can't appeal to her sex appeal, because in my opinion, she hasn't shown any (except in vol. 2 or 3 cover, and in her Class tea house), or it just doesn't work on ichika (or me, because I insist she hasn't shown it enough). So she should use her "cuteness" back from volume 1
