i'm trying to create a naruto trailer (between 20-30 secs) using virtualdub. If I simply cut out the part I want to use I get a file of about 5MB but that's still a bit too big to send around by email. If I recompress the file in xvid format using a bitrate of 300 I get a 1.65 MB file which is not bad, and quality is still acceptable. What other settings can I play around with to get a smaller file, or the same filesize and better quality? use a different bitrate, encoding mode? what about the advanced options? perhaps use a different codec altogether? add filters? change the framerate? change the colour depth? or maybe use a different program, for example nandub? can nandub recompress the sound at the same time?
