Hi. I attended a cosplay convention today, and just got back home (past 8 pm here). A little lonely at the start of the day, because none of my friends are with me this time, but somehow I met a new friend and it brightened up my mood. Got lots of pics, will share them in a day or two. For now, I need some rest.
Eating at 6 is called "fast-breaking" so it comes naturally when it's time to end our fast. Actually, muslims don't necessarily break-fast at 6. The time for break-fast is when the sun sets. So, if you're in a country where the day is longer than the night, you'll have to endure longer. But there is exception for some places with more than 20 hours of daytime. For example, if you happen to be in Arctic or Antarctica where the day can last for a month, of course you don't have to fast for a month. That would be crazy and unreasonable. In that case, just follow the 12-hours-fasting rule. Islam is a religion that's not too strict about way-of-life methods and can be applied globally after all (basically, Islam only needs you to believe in 6 matters and to do 5 practice. Fasting is included).
Oh yeah, beside fast-breaking, some Muslims also eat very early just before the sun rises to prepare our bodies during the day. It's called "sahur" in my country.
Since it's just a few days from now. I might be attending another anime con this week. Will share pics again. It will be in the same venue as the last one. Hopefully it doesn't rain, so that the cosplayers could pose more freely outside.
Unfortunately no since I'm still on a long trip . The muslim patient that you had might be doing the additional (not obligatory) fasting after Id Mubarak. It's for a very noble cause since the purpose is to further strengthen the faith and to be a much better person (post Ramadhan) not just for themselves but also for other people they interact too.
None, no cosplay cabaret. Only a fashion show of cosplayers, each one walk on stage and try to impress the audience and judges.
I did see something similar to a cosplay cabaret in a con that I attended last year. It's groups of 4 or more people each. One large group even had separate members for props and special effects when they went on stage. They acted scenes from anime episodes, or improvised their own. It's entertaining.
Thanks for the info on Gundam. I think each gundam series I've seen is decent, even SEED - which somehow has a lot of haters when it aired in my country.
Did they do some cosplay cabaret in the contest? Does cosplay cabaret can only be done by cosplayers who came with their own set of cosplayer-group?
To be precise, that's Unicorn Gundam while in its "Destroy Mode". When it's in "Unicorn Mode" all that red parts are covered up and the V-fin on its forehead closed and formed a "white horn" like a unicorn.
Yup, many Gundam fans from America and Southeast Asia started from Wing. Kira & Athrun is from Gundam SEED & SEED Destiny series. Just in case you want to play catch-up with Gundam series, you can watch Gundam 00 series. That is one good show story-wise, character-wise, and (of course) action-wise ^^.
Thanks. There's plenty of cosplayers because there's a cos contest scheduled later that day.
So that's a unicorn gundam? Indeed there's a lot of people taking souvenir pics near it. Seems like you're a gundam fan. You would have enjoyed the event, there's a section of the Skydome for gundam fans. I saw them assembling model kits.
Not updated anymore on the gundam series. I remember liking Gundam Wing. The last gundam I've watched has a lead character named Kira and he has a friend named Athrun.
