I couldn't agree more for Sengoku and Shining Penises
As for Nyaruko, I guess you're not a Cthulhu fan? Still though it has so many references irrelevant to Mythos and energy, not only from Nyaruko
As for Sankarea, dunno I feel that the anime, unlike the manga (I read the first few chapters) takes itself too seriously, and that will mislead a lot of upright viewers later... or I will drop the the thing altogether since if it keeps up this anime-original melo-drama, it won't be my thing... how should I put it, despite having a soft spot for abused heroines, in Sankarea's case, I felt more sorry for Babu spending a post-mortum week in a portable freezer than Rea crumbling under the most ridiculous abuse. Also I want more Ranko heart-broken/friend-zoned and little sister dead-pan commentary
The reason I didn't give Nyaruko-san a shot is as simple as the girl's design didn't appeal to me but Sengoku collection (episode 2 was a step down from episode 1) or Shining Heart (I will try to replace the word "bread" with "penis" when watching episode 2) aren't turning out as good as I hoped,so if that doesn't change maybe I'll give it a go.
Sankarea though I enjoy, look no further than my sig!
I doubt that Shinbou has anything to do with Otome, because the style is more like Ounuma's and they have not worked together since the later left for SilverLink.
For Sankarea, aesthetics aside, it doesn't feel like a Shinbou/Ounuma work.
As for fake names, Iit's more common with hentai VAs, since they are regarded as live porn, but it's not unheard of staff to use pseudonyms when the ecchi factor is high... for example I still don't know who is Kobun that directed Hyakka Ryouran.
By the way, I don't think you'll like KoreZon, as for Nyaruko-san, dunno, had some interesting direction, but yeah otherwise it's probably not you cup of tea. I asked out of curiosity, since they are my top picks for spring, followed by Sankarea, Otome, and psycho-girlfriend.
Hehe, Tasogare is directed by his apprentice, and Sankarea has staff that used to work with SHAFT, anyway they both look good, storytelling is an issue though with both... Sankarea moves at a snail's pace compared to the manga, while Otome has that nasty habit of replaying scenes with and without Yuuko.
By the way have you checked Nyaruko-san and KoreZon?
