... I thought your post in the Socialist Group was just a joke, but then I looked at the Member List and it turns out you actually did leave. Did someone make you mad, or did you just decide that you waste too much time there? The place admittedly can be an addictive time sink.
Yeah, it's a bit of a rare disease. I was kind of a celebrity at the USC hospital I had my thymectomy at, since it was a teaching hospital, they wanted to get their students as familiar as possible with MG. Groups of doctors would visit my room 10-15 at a time.
It's been stabilized over the last couple of years, although my health did take a bit of a dip over the last few months.
Interesting find. Thanks for sharing that with me.
I've never heard of Mysathenia Gravis before now, but wow, reading up on it, it sounds like an absolutely horrible disease...
You might be able to outlive the illness, though - Mysathenia Gravis was cured in mice last year using gene therapy, so they might start testing out gene therapy in human beings towards the tail end of the decade. It might be a good idea to try and volunteer for clinical trials once they open.
You do indeed look younger than your age - in that Star Wars picture you posted last year of you using the light saber, I would have guessed that you were maybe around the age of 33-35 if I didn't know your age. You were adorable in 1971, by the way.
You know, I actually started coming here when I actually was in my 30s, around the time Macross Zero was being subbed (around 2002?), I just didn't bother registering for the forums until '11. ~foreheadsmack~
Also, I just say I'm old compared to most of the other people here. Most of the people I know say I still look like I'm in my 30s.
Happy birthday, Endless! When you first registered, you were but a wee 42 year old... where does the time go.
And yeah, like I said in the Social Group, I think 45's a good age. My dad was 38 whenever I was born, so my earliest memories of him are from his early and mid 40s. It will always seem like a very strong and youthful age to me for that reason alone.
