Happy Halloween~ We don't dress up for the occasion over here (only children). But I did manage to scare my sis by telling her how someone supposedly hung himself in our dinning room ( ≧艸≦).
What costume did you pick? Classy Sanetoshi outfit? Somehow looks like a camisole lol
Don't apologize, the theory isn't completely rules out yet. At worse it's temporary compromised (ーωー) <- trying to save a bit of hope here.
Spoiler for :
Actually, there was nothing solid between Ringo and Shouma is this episode. Sure she is thankful to him for saving her and he genuinely cares about her, but that's pretty much it. She is embarrassed mostly because his accident was because of her, she has a hard time to tell the truth to Kanba too.
Now, the pairing setting is so classic, everyone is jumping to the conclusion that those two have to be together. I'm expecting better from Ikuhara. If MawaPen is the kind of serie where a girl, with such a strong resolve as Ringo, inevitably falls in love with a guy because acting on his own accord and following the Charming Prince guide book he did something stupid to "save" her, then I'll have to reconsider following this show.
I've always despise charming prince figures in anime (except western anime, love classics Disney for example lol). But in Japanese animation, I wait for something else. Especially when the creator and director of the show is the one who taught me that Princes from our childhood don't exist! ¬_¬
Now you'll tell me, he is free to pair his characters like he sees feat, but I would feel endlessly trolled if the story was from now on all about Kanba and Shouma, putting Ringo aside. Now that she doesn't have her diary anymore, I don't see any motive for her to keep moving. Are they going to left her aside? Maybe Himari can teach her how to knit? =3='''
Just from the raw alone, I get some of the concerns you voiced on the Penguindrum thread.
From the start, MPD has had two active/aggressive characters (Kanba, Ringo) and two passive ones (Himari, Shouma). That dynamic is Ok, but if Ringo is permanently shifted into the passive category, I have real doubts that Kanba can carry this show alone. So I see your point there.
Also, I want to apologize in case my Himari/Ringo speculations got your hopes up.
Even with no subs, and me knowing like 10 Japanese phrases/words, I can tell that Episode 10 is going hardcore in a Shouma/Ringo direction.
