That was a great post. Good job. Yeah, I think that anime writers often take the easy way out by focusing on a *deeply* flawed character (spineless male lead wimp, incredibly harsh Type A tsundere) and then developing them... because there's nowhere for them to go but up.

It's trickier to take a character that starts only with relatively minor flaws, but you find a nuanced way of developing them anyway.
