Light Novels and Theories Discussion thread
This thread is created as a platform to
discuss information from the light novels
(read: wring whatever information we can off of
), as well as
theories and speculations associated with them and/or the series itself
We realised how much Light Novel stuff and theory has been discussed on the OC thread, so I figured opening a thread for it would reduce said discussions clogging up OCT.
With that, a question, do the water wings in the Novel actually split a mountain? Or is it just said they could do that? If the later, we can assume getting stuffed into a human body significantly down-powered them.
(Currently not at home)
About that, I'll have to dig up my Volume 4 from the mess of my room to tell you that. Yes, I have volume 4, I just haven't read it yet...
I didn't know about it's mountain-splitting capabilities until a raw reader told us. Though if you ask me, I'll say that it's the latter, similiar to how [
] was said to be able to destroy half the planet, assuming the author is following the biblical story, Gabriel has at least wipeout two cities before.
At the same time...
, your idea of a fleet of ships might not be too far off for magic.
In volume 11, we learn that the Rome Catholic Church has a fleet of warships made of ice. The english translation is pretty much the [
], but don't try to ask me the original Itallian name. The Ice Ships are form using the surrounding seawater, whenever a ship suffers damage, it can repair itself with water. Even if it's destroyed, they can immediately rebuild it using the water as well. The ships' houses a magic cannon with a maximum range of 5 miles; Inside, they're guarded by magic Ice gates and Ice Golems. The ships themselves have a failsafe breakaway system that prevents Touma from destroying an entire ship with one touch.
...wow. Imagine that. Frozen submarines. And the Templars specialize in fire magics allowing them to keep warm.
Summoned ships... though at the moment, I'm inclined towards [Noah's Ark] which when applied to a small ship allows it to contain far more than physically possible. Allows them to hide in plain sight, in oil tankers, passenger ships, yatchs...
I'll keep this in mind if the Angelic Navy actually appears.
I wonder if this project was a success in the TAVerse
A friend of mine wrote about a floating iceberg (though more like an ice shelf ripped out of the Arctic) base set in the Northern Atlantic. It was called the
U.N.N.B. Titanic Atlantis
, and the massive super-structure appears in the Evangelion continuum.
Since that time, every time he needed a floating ice-base, it would be the
. Maybe in Toaruverse, the British succeeded in completing the
where the Americans failed; after all, they developed an awesome WWII fighter made out of wood!
Mythbusters have already busted that story, I'm sorry
In Toaruverse, the British are more Magic based. They're ruled by the Church, the Knights, and the Royal Family.
The Amakusa Catholics have what I think is a inverted paperboat which serves as a submarine... But need confirmation on specific details, but the 'submarine' part I'm sure of.
Mythbusters have already busted that story, I'm sorry Saint
*sees the intent go WHOOSH over chaos' head*
read the line that i said in the post please.
"I wonder if this project was
a success in the TAVerse
Well, magic-wise... *_*
Suddenly, a hulk of ice surfaces in Gakuento Bay, deploying jumpjet VTOLs and slave ice golems from it's massive hatch, much to the shock of gathered security forces.
As much as shock-and-awe would do wonders, the Gabrieles are too fire-specialized to have the means to summon a fleet of frozen ships. At least we now that sort of thing is canon; but like the pink Mecha-Gojulas of Railgun 20, just because it's there doesn't mean we should use it. Unless you want to see Tempy go off like the 4th of July.
is enough to turn a small u-boat into the Tuatha de Danaan in terms of capacity. Noah is the mortal form of Gabriel, who in turn is explicitly the patron of Gabrieles. Makes more sense for the Knights Templar to be using that spell as a means of sea transport.
Don't power creep unless you want "Prototype Powered Exoskeletons" with Thermo-optic camouflage wrecking your trash up---before the "Main Course" gets there.
Got a big doubt. It is possible that other planes exist in ToAruverse? Because
in this page
mentions the existence of the world of the dead.
Would it be possible of the astral realm, spirit realm, and such worlds to exist?
Well, in my theory, Spirit realm could be a sub-category of the Alien World.
Stiyl Magnus' Innocentius, for instance, is most likely a manifestation of the shadow of Pope Innocent VIII's "holy" spirit. Chances are, the Spirit Realm sub-category in the Alien World also has its place on the Tree of Sephiroth, just as God and the Angels have their categories in the Alien World as per the Tree.
Alien World... Are they trying to please Raelians and Scientologists as well? Or is this just an artefact of translation?
by "alien" world, they mean "not of this world", aka the realm of magic aka where you get your angels from
So, for example, Hell, spirit realm, astral realm and heaven belong to that world? Or its way of saying "We don't know what is going on there so let's assume that is another world" :<
In any case, there is too little to work with. The only things we know FOR SURE(you hear that, Kha? FOR SURE) are
1. What is not considered as "from this world" is considered as from the "alien world" and that
2. Angels, divinity, Telesma and magic are all based on using the "Alien world" or even possibly "world
Like I said, if you want to speculate about Hell, Spirit, Astral and Heaven, study the Tree of Sephirot carefully, since it already establishes a ranking system. Of Heaven, Angels, Humans.
If you really do want to speculate further though, I'd suggest you do some digging on. For example, the last Sephirah on the Tree represents the lowest, ones, of Humans.
In this case, Humans are Malkuth, the "Kingdom", and assosciated with life, earth and the physical plane. As is the reciever of the other 9 Sephirots since it lies at the bottom of the Tree, it is the physical manifestation of the other 9 Sephirots, otherwise known as the other "planes"/"levels" of the Chart, God being at the top. Divine energy comes down from the "top"(aka God), and finds itself at the "bottom", aka us. It is also the "role" of the "Bottom", "Us", to bring sid energy back to the "Top". If I were to speculate, this is probably how Stiyl is able to summon Innocentius, which is more than likely based aforementioned on Pope Innocent VIII, as a one who was originally of "Malkuth", now moved up the order of the Tree.
Again, this is still speculation because
CANON HAS TOO MANY LOOPHOLES FOR KHA TO DRIVE A BATTERY OF NUCLEAR KHRACKHEADS THROUGH
, so it is too be taken only as it is,
OIOIOI whats with all the bashing?
Not like Chrono is going to do some
SUPAA CHRONO TAIMU
teleporting from the MCC-1701-C
to interrupt a fight between Fuse=KAZAKIRI and Vent because it's destabilizing the dimension, and in doing so get called an Angel because he came from the cluster of Alien Worlds, will he?
...but yeah, not a just a battery of nukes; I think I can squeeze an Executor-class Star Dreadnought, several Galaxy-classes and many many Defiant-classes firing Quantum Torps on full auto through those holes.
But its just a lolburst, mostly inspired by trap. Nyan, please accept responsibility for these temporally existing khrack before I abort them.
*fleeez from the brief lol khrack burst*
*lobotomises whatever is left in Kha's skull*
There, that should do it. But yes, sieg, you do get the picture, right?
