First, this is a club for those who support Lelouch being alive so why exactly are you here if you don't believe that? We all understand that everyone has differing views on the manner, but I don't quite think that warrants you coming here just to spout things we have already heard.
Second, what facts? If you're going to quote some of the staff who say so that doesn't particularly bother me as they can have their beliefs too, but Director Taniguchi essentially said after the end that we are free to interepret the ending as we see fit but that he sees it as a happy ending himself so that's good enough for me.
Third, Code Geass is a world where being dead doesn't exactly mean you have to stay dead given that we have immortality and other such things.
Why does there need to be solid proof? Those of us here don't feel that there is solid proof he is dead and that there are enough things for us to believe he's still out there. As for why they didn't show his face, it's ultimately an open ending. He can be alive or dead, it's whatever you want and the fates for the other characters are up to your imagination as well. Taniguchi tends to do this sort of thing with all his shows and this time doesn't seem any different. Besides, it seems apparent that people have some pretty clear opinions on whether or not Lelouch deserves to live or not and leaving it for us to choose satisfies everyone.
So Lelouch might be dead and he might not. We choose to think he is. Please respect that.
Thank you and goodnight.
Edit: I could personally care less about the Picture Drama but thought it might interest some. It's probably some sort of alternate reality or some such nonsense.
1) Dann, don't feed the trolls
2) We can easily ignore the late Frankenstein operations on the anime. The fact that such stitched material managed to exist is proof that the anime on its own couldn't point to Lelouch being dead and that created more than enough fuss to cause the staff to add said material on DVD as well as making comments on that. Of course, the staff trying to make a point the anime couldn't is fail right there, so they added the extra material to try and say that the anime can in fact say so (with the added material though). The nature of staff statements is such that they can be revoked, besides being considered a writer's epic fail (you know a writer failed hard when he has to say something for the anime/book/whatever that's essential to the medium but that the medium couldn't thoroughly support on its own). The nature of stitched material is such that they can be denied by the staff themselves afterwards as mere alternative extras, if the need arises. A remake to make the point more obvious will just stumble upon the "remake" fate and people who prefer the original.
I believe that's the end of story. It'd be more proper if you Lelouch-dead trolls confine yourselves to your own thread instead of appearing around here in an obvious attempt to troll.

Yes, you're right I apologize.
And I do quite agree that they shouldn't have had to make statements after it all and that the ending as it is is fine for everyone in the end.
OK people, it has begun.
While everything is speculation at this point, judging by how Sunrise usually does things, it's either a remake, OVA or spin-off rather than a direct sequel. Also, Lelouch's fate regarding the new GC is up to speculation at this point, HOWEVER that hasn't stopped people from calling for Lelouch's revival OR the pre-emptive nerdrage regarding the possibility that Lelouch might indeed be back.
Personally, I'm almost laughing my ass off as it is at the nerdrage at the places I visit online. I also find it strange how there are way too many people calling for Lelouch's revival or at least preferring some sort of Lelouch appearance to something else. Some others just want another CG, and the usual small minority has already gone into nerdrage fit (at least in places like Sankaku and some other sites I frequent).
All in all, I don't really have much hope that Sunrise will actually use Lelouch as the protagonist again in a direct sequel but it's fun seeing all the reactions here and there. We can always hope for the best anyway. Knowing Sunrise, we can't rule out the possibility that Lelouch will indeed return (and make my previous posts' points true, too, lol

It's a prequel manga featuring some character from the past. They also seem to be doing several other chapters in CG history in the works.
Seems like fail to me, especially since I never liked prequels to begin with.
This RIP Lelouch group is offensive as hell. Their leader straight up calls our position a lie, and doesn't give a damn for civility. I ache not for the flame wars of the past, should they continue this, I'm just gonna report them. We do NOT have to deal with people deliberating trying to incite a flame war
LOL, nah, I think Zetsubou Bunny getting so worked up is cute
Then again, I don't really take them that seriously anymore, BECAUSE many of them get so worked up about it.
You'll have a hard time convincing mods btw. Besides one or two posts that are more aggressive, the rest fall into the gray area. Personally I'd rather have them be there and feel wonderful about their mighty crusade for truth. If they ever get even 1/3 of our members, I'll be really surprised.
Also try not to flame at all. We've got over 250 members, we have much more to lose than a group of less than 20 that shout their lungs out from time to time.
Ahaha, well, seriously, they can believe whatever they want. I'd like to believe that Lelouch is too awesome to die, plus, like a friend of mine once said... he has the devil's luck.
Even when he wants to die, he CAN'T.
Oh, and plus, that guy on the last page was pure lols.
Why didn't they show his face?
How many times have you watched an anime and in the end, the main character is SUPPOSED to be dead, but on the last 5 minutes, he pops out, saying it's all good?
Well, maybe some, but that's just bad marketing...and Sunrise is a marketing god.

I wasn't even aware there was such a group, though I suppose it would make sense for those that seem really against other people thinking he's alive. I don't see why. I generally don't care if someone thinks he is dead or not. They have their interpretation and I have mine. No need to go and attack.
The prequels could be interesting if Taniguchi keeps going further and further back to the origin or something. I have this odd idea that reincarnation may be how things work given a comment by C.C. and such, so maybe Lelouch has past incarnations we'll see like that weird lookalike possibly.
I also happened to notice that his outfit bears what I believe is the symbol for the Order of the Black Knights, which I believe Lelouch came up with.
I honestly can't say I've seen many where that happened. Except maybe GunXSword where Van was thought to be dead by some, though I don't really think any viewer would have thought that. Kind of the same with S-Cry-ed possibly if you thought they were dead or something from that last fight. Heh, the only two possible examples I can think of were done by Taniguchi as well.
There may be others though that I simply can't quite remember.
I don't like prequels in general, as I don't like the "in medias res" technique. If I know the current state of affairs, watching what transpired is pointless and boring to me. I don't even like flashbacks, unless they are short and efficient, but anime at least have this nasty tendency to make flashbacks too long, to the point of taking several episodes. Flashbacks and prequels make plot armor painfully obvious, plus, if they have affected the present, we've already seen the effect, and if not, well, that makes them worthless to begin with.
Yatta!! What a great group!! I've been looking for this sorta thing!! OF COURSE I belive he's still alive! Maybe not pysicaly for the time being, but he is...He is...
Prequels...are just not my thing. I could care less about how Lelouch was born... i wanna how whether he is dead or not. Lol

There are some things that could be explored in the past I feel, though I'm not exactly excited. The new guy in the manga who looks like Lelouch seems to want to take the world as well as desiring immortality so for now I guess he may be the antagonist unless he ends up working with Renya later.
I like to entertain the idea that, if reincarnation is the game here, Lelouch may have had past lives we could potentially see though.
And I think they sort of answered the dead/alive question to a certain degree. Most of the staff seems to believe he's dead, though I've seen comments by Taniguchi and Fukuyama (not sure how important his word is though) indicating that people are free to imagine what they will.
He LIVES!!!!! LOL
And, woot, we're still growing
I actually know people that wanted Lelouch dead when Geass ended, now after all this time, they say he has to stay alive
Kinda fun when you see that
I think he lives. But we won't get the official answer we've been waiting for until 2011 at earliest. The new manga & anime are focussing on the past and a simultaneous story occurring during R1 which i think will be used to kinda of spark a start for R3. That's hoping the Gaiden & manga are a huge success and Sunrise back a 4th series.

I think the official position is that he's dead. They reiterated it in several interviews, the guidebook it seems, and apparently the special version of R2 episode 25 changed the final scene purely to point out that he's dead. Which seems a bit like overkill to me.
Still, I'll keep thinking he's alive even though some may seem it is silly. I prefer it that way for a number of reasons and don't think it ruins anything. Besides, a little openendedness never hurt anyone really.
This group recieves my approval ^_^
ALL HAIL LELOUCH!
"I think the official position is that he's dead."
I think the official position is to rise a sh..storm and make everyone discuss, to keep the series hot/fresh. All of the statements were really vague, including the fact they described him as "Lelouch vi Britannia" - after all I don't think he ever felt this was his "real name", he never wanted to be part of that family - he only loved Marianne, which is why he changed his last name to her maiden's name - or how they write that "Lelouch's story is over" - it doesn't nescessarily mean he's dead, just that there's nothing interesting left in his story, because he finally have found peace.
