The reason Lillet has the Laboratory and the Engrave is because later in the day Chartreuse will give them to her. The Laboratory is at level two because Amoretta taught Lillet how to summon Homunculi.

A couple of clarifications about the events of Day 3 - Continued and Day 4:

1) The reason Opalneria decided to wreck the lab was because she'd gone to see Chartreuse precisely when Lillet came in with Amoretta...and she saw Chartreuse 'hugging' (supporting) Amoretta as he led her to the tank room. Meaning she completely misunderstood and got jealous like an idiot, then threw a hissy fit and decided she'd destroy Chartreuse's lab.

2) In Day 4, Chartreuse has gone to look for Opalneria to give her a piece of his mind about that stunt she pulled. It's one thing to bother his research, but this time it had serious repercussions on a student.

3) Lillet will remain in bed for the remainder of Day 4 because Amoretta is not going to allow her to exert herself. This also gives Chartreuse a chance to give her proper Alchemy lessons, which means that on Day 5 she probably will be more advanced than where I left her off.

EDIT: In case nobody noticed, I sent 'ambiguity' to the lowest layers of the underworld with Lillet and Amoretta.

So might as well say this.

I have a break on school from April 2nd to 7th so that's probably when the chapter is going to be finished. Best case April 1st(!) even. I don't think I could do it earlier 'cause every teacher is giving us what we have to do for the tests, which are after the break, so I'm going to be a bit busy. Just a heads up.

Works for me. Indeed, that's exactly within what we were talking about earlier--ask for an extension before time's up, and the time you quote is within two weeks after that anyway.

On another note, in our last two entries, it seems like Sora and I broke the system in different ways: I wrote over double the length of the maximum, covered two chapters, and still didn't get out of my assigned day--and then Sora wrote nearly as much, did two full chapters, and left her day open-ended (Word of God ANs notwithstanding, of course ).

Which makes me wonder...people are obviously letting loose and having fun writing the story for the sake of, well, enjoying the story. So I was wondering...maybe instead of rigidly requiring "It is my turn and therefore I must write this particular Day," we can loosen up a bit--that is, everyone writes a chapter in turn? Or am I just overthinking this?

I still need to catch up on this fic . I just need to survive the next week, and actually stay in town for more than a few days at a time....

Sounds good to me (I was actually thinking about asking about the chapter's status today and, well, here you were answering me before I even asked! ).

Give me another day or so. Sorry but my test went horrible and it wasn't my fault and ugggh. This is why I hate teamwork and stubborn people.

And half a year later...

Disregarding the "who's going to write the next chapter?" question for now, I thought I'd make a suggestion about the ending (when we get there!) to this story --since there are so many writers, there is a chance that we all have a different concept of how the last day in our pre-game Cycle is going to go...so what do you guys think of us writing a final Day 5 each?

Basically, in that last Loop there would be an option for the readers to read spawn's version of Day 5, Dezo's version, Fuyu's version, etc. So that way each of us gets a chance to end the Cycle based on our preference/desire (*snigger* dc's version: THIS LILLET GETS TRAPPED ALONE IN THAT DARK ROOM!!! j/k...or am I?), and it could also add a bit of flair to the end of this collaborative story.

Thoughts?

I'm not really against it per se, but I have to admit I'd rather establish if anyone is going to write Second Day 5 before we start discussing options for Fifth/Sixth/Whatever Day 5.

I agree with Dezo. We'd have to get there first.

I'm amused, because mine would probably be peppered with yuri stuff between Lillet and Amoretta before Lillet gets inevitably trapped in the dark room. *shrug* I likes me some adorable Lillet x Amoretta, but I know that this Lillet won't get to enjoy it much.

*sighs* I would volunteer, but I happen to be buried in exams/papers/school stuff.

Personally, I think you should inveigle your significant other into helping out!

Edit: Okay, I admit it, I was just looking for an excuse to use the word "inveigle."

Hey, this is the cycle before the game, right? Our absolute worst endings aren't possible in this story .

I can't volunteer, as until at least mid November I'll be stuck on other things @_@. But I wanted to look ahead, so that we know where we're going.

Okay, I'm just going to bite the bullet here--given that I have an insane amount of schoolwork, final projects, and Scouting duties...I'm obviously in a good place to write Second Day 5 . High stress = productive writing. So I volunteer to finish off this Loop if there are no objections? 14 day deadline, clock starts ticking tomorrow morning if no one else wants the job.

LOL . I just re-read the whole story so far, in a Word doc form (I've been compiling them for easy editing later), and it's 84 pages long! =O

Poor Lillet; she has so many questions, and has gotten so few answers! At the end, I know that in "The Loops Before" challenge rules I said that I was going to ignore the whole "dropping grimoires" and time travel issues, but I thought that I might as well adhere roughly to the game mechanics since it fit at the end there .

Wow, you're fast in your stressiness! And yep, I'm up next (the major reason I didn't want to jump in and volunteer for Second Day 5), so...looks like it's time for me to get my head out of Jacob's Creek and back to the Tower!

Man, it ended on a rather tense note. @_@ And while I know perfectly well that since this is the loops before the game and it's bound to have a tragic ending, I kinda wish we could give Lillet some happiness in the interim. Not that that's really possible either, seeing as we only have five days to work with, but nonetheless...
