Ok, now that we have a proper group icon, let's get a discussion going.

What are your favourite overknee socks?
My favourite ones are pure white ones, as e.g. seen on Ume from Ben-Tou

BLACK!!!! white is also good with designs or frills at the top of it

Torn between white and black. Really depends on the character and/or the rest of the outfit I guess.

I have a little favour on black, since it can go well with the skirt. Take Rena (Higurashi), long white shirt , with black overknee socks underneath it. Make battle looks much more awesomely attractive. But white one is fine too... (most notably Ume from Ben-TO and Kyou from Clannad)

I find black more appealing to me, white is nice too though. But black just takes the cake for me.

The contrast between the "pureness" of white and the revealing and sexy nature of ZR is a big part of white's appeal imo. Especially on shy girls.

true innocent and shy girls complements with white but the bold and daring can only have black. It's a huge out of character to use white but maybe it's the inner self thing. But white can also be used by those S type but it just kills the fun for me >_>

Shouldn't you use the thighhighs term in here as well? It's easier to find images with that word.

Hm. I believe the default definition is knee socks, and that "Thigh high" is the term for the ones that reach the thighs, and not just above the knee's. Of course I could be wrong, for almost 20 years I just called them stockings, and now I have a hard time referring to the correct ones as knee socks

Well, the problem is that any kind of legwear that goes beyond the knees are put into the thighhigh/stockings category, be it right or wrong. And to be clear, I'm talking about search engines on the tasty image boards. Oh, and one more thing. I think that this appreciation club could have included all the types of legwear... for broader audience.

And about the various types of legwear, that's where my group comes in...which I've unfortunately not had the chance to maintain yet.

I think limiting it to overknee socks is just fine.
Also, as I can't stand pantyhose, I wouldn't want any of it here.

Now, I for one think that there's not enough scenes in Anime that have girls undressing/putting on the kneesocks. I can only recall Hidan No Aria recently, but it's not enough!

really tall person needs white if their somewhat short (torso/height compared to other characters) black. I also agree with white for more pure heart.
