Ya win some. Y'lose some.
Didn't play all that hot here. Lost to some small hands along the way. But, as a note of interest, look at South 2, where I could have ron'd off of the player to the right's riichi. Instead, I declined; called riichi; and won the hand anyways.
A move like that - I can smile despite ending 2nd.
Somewhat of a tight game. Pity getting ron'd a couple times; but at least, closed out with a dora heavy hand at the end to take 2nd.
Aww man. The one main time when not calling riichi bit me. Due to the tiebreaker, I ended up 2nd. Calling riichi would have done enough.
Anyways. Took some time early on to get the feel of the "flow". In fact, I was totally going against it until I finally won a hand, and got rolling in the hand immediately after.
Never thought I'd see the
At least, this time: I didn't get affected by it. Instead, I got hit by a couple of misplays, like with East 4: I went with the greedy dual pon instead of a 2-side wait.
Anyways. After that Dansaigen, it became a game of 2nd place. Thankfully, I nailed it, despite being all sleepy and crap.

11 hands and I could not freaking win a single one. It's almost miraculous that I managed to held on to 3rd place by 200 points.
And dayum. Y'had a bunch of bitchin' start hands to boot.
Somewhat of a tight game, where I felt forced to experiment with various tricks to ron people. That's all I'll say for now.
I'll analyze more later.
Pretty much laid low as I did not feel much in terms of development. Luckily, just one ninja ron allowed me to put myself into 2nd.
Started with one potentially big hand, only to lose big after calling riichi. At least, I managed to pick myself right up with a nicely timed rinshan.
Yet, after losing big early, it was pretty much a tall mountain to climb, where I came close to the leader, but not enough. Looking at my discard in the last hand, I could have built a Su Anko. Oh well.
Barely hung on to my teeth. And I LOL @ my last hand.
EDIT: Last hand. LOL, honitsu everywhere. XD
My excuse? I was watching Eps 8 to Ben-to (again). Y'know? The one where the sexy twins posed as nurses.
NOTE the dora. NOTE how many I dropped. FML
Chasing that sanshoku in the first hand got me. Just as I was picking up momentum in the middle, the player across me threatens with a double riichi, and closes out the game.
The chinitsu hand. Shoulda just stayed closed, with the hand being so early.
Holy clutch West 4 Mangan.
Played ridiculously badly here, as I did not defend enough as I should have. Yet, I'll highlight my own shining moment this game. The only hand I won.
Seeing the pon of 7's. I deliberately chose THAT as my wait before declaring Riichi. I sadistically fantasized even the remote chance at a chankan.
Instead, that tricked the guy ahead of me, who played into it ippatsu.
Win claimed based on 2 ninja ron's.
The first one: decided to just ron immediately at first opportunity not to put the hand to waste. Either that or wait for Iipeiko, but given the tightness of the game; it was better to get the points right then and there.
The second one: tempted to call "riichi" after the kan, for more access to the ura-dora. I decided to wait on it, especially when plenty of the 6-man and 9-man were already discarded. Better off being suspect here, and it paid off for the win.

Chuken match of a team tournament. I ended up basically spectating... oi.
Oh wait. Some Tenhou tournament was on, wasn't it? And I missed it...
It was a tournament across some Chinese forums.

Really bad start, and for many times I thought I was certainly going to go in last. Good thing the last hand showed up as it did, and I avoided losing 75 ranking points.

Pretty much the opposite as above. Excellent start.
Seeing all the others win with big hands. I spent most of the game not winning anything. At least, most of the point exchanges involved "ron", so I was able to lay low a bit and just hang around. An East mangan and a normal haneman brought me a swift win from behind.
Needless to say. That was annoying.
For the most part, early on. I was going for hands - that I shouldn't have been going for in the first place. At the same time, I'm freakin' sleepy right now.
South 3-0: Would you have gone for Suu Ankou there?
(Hey. Finally figured out how to link to specific hands). XD
Despite taking a very hard early beating. I was given a chance to win this game, with an East haneman in the South round. And followed that up with a haneman a couple hands later. But, I managed to blow it, by losing to a baiman, while having a cock-tease of a dealt chii toisu 1-shanten hand.
I will use my sleepiness as an excuse. But rather, with chi toitsu, it's necessary to stick to your guns when it comes to the waits, especially at 1-shanten. Several times, I've altered my waits on that one, except the tiles needed for tenpai arrive after the fact. Thus, in my own sleepiness, I wavered. At the same time, gotta realize when to give up on a chii toitsu.
And why did I drop the 4-sou in that hand? Simple.
EDIT: I got so mesmerized by my own hand (annoyed at all the mischances @ tenpai), such that I forgot about defending so late into the hand.
