@war addict: Though I'm pretty sure you mean tappable ass, define appealing.
@otai: Fate's usually portrayed as uke. And that last statement is the best descriptor for this thing I've heard all day.
Also, please check out C.A.'s pics.
In Fate's case... Yeah, pretty much what you said.
Well I probably could give it another try, but it'd be about a month or two before I could actually finish the whole series, barring anything else that comes up.
Unless everyone would be willing to wait until then for me to decide whether or not I'd want to contribute to the project, I'd still be staying out of it. I'm still not all that thrilled about coming into the Haruki thing a month late, and I really don't want to repeat that.
@ass tapping warbringer: I guess I can write that into his new fanclub in StrikerS. His fangirls will be obsessed with, among many other things, his unbelievably fine ass.
@Shiro: You can probably work on vague memory for now, because that's how I'm currently operating. I'm gonna have to rewatch it soon enough.
Right now everything's just general conceptualizing, and like I said before, I'm more inclined to take the path of creative reinterpretation with regard to Nanoha. Unlike the case of Haruki, I don't feel that we're going to be hung up on strict rewriting guidelines and trying to prevent too much deviation from the original feel of the show. The mission this time is to take things to their logical conclusion when the characters of Nanoha become a more traditional shounen cast.
About all I have for vague memory that would be remotely useful is that Nanoha is a fan of beam-spamming
"Let's be Friendly" I'm now seeing Ono Daisuke as Nano-kun...using his Hosaka voice for the 19 year old and a slightly more friendly voice for the 9 year old....if that is even possible for him to pull off shota...
@Shiro: When he fires Divine Buster for the first time, he'll probably ask the ferret if there's a way for him to fire it from his bare hands.
@Ithekro: It's WAY too early to start thinking about how they should sound like. We've got to redefine their personalities first. That said, I don't think he's the best man for the job. We're probably gonna need someone closer to the hotblooded end of the seiyuu pool when it comes down to the fights.
And on a tangentially related note, I do remember that Ono D had a role as one of the side characters in StrikerS. Other than him and possibly Tomokazu Sugita's Chrono, males were so useless in that series...
@danchou: Or alternately, Fate's interpretated as the "passive-seme" type.
Why are we discussing YAOI?
Edit: It's just that I expected our bisexual war-monger and zen-seeking author to do it for us...
Because it's a byproduct of genderbending characters with strong yuri overtones.
It applies to both /y/ and /u/. No gender bias there at all.
And the zen seeker needs to watch the show first. One can neither comprehend the power of the Legion nor help us in the rewrites without the necessary knowledge.
Also, because yaoi is hot.
Should I just declare that I'm in the Slaaneshi sect of this?
It's hard to tell whether you're serious or just trying to act up the sexual deviant role... in any case *backs away slowly*
I would say... Both.
Hm...while it may be a bit early to talk about voice actors, I think
might be a good choice for Fate-kun (having the softer kind of voice, but still being able to be quite GAR); in fact, he could probably voice him in both shouta and teen forms.
Also FFFF, that just made me think of teen Nano-kun having Kamina's VA. o_o
And I can totally see male Nanoha in a white version of Archer's outfit.
@Cat Megex: Still early. And I'm not sure if he's the best for role of "hardass shota" in the first season. Teen Nano probably will say WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I AM somewhere, but I highly doubt it'll be Kamina's voice doing the talking. In fact I think those two will more likely be better candidates for roles in StrikerS.
On the topic of outfits, even though we're throwing a lot of fanservice based things out, we're still trying to derive the new costumes from the old ones. Although if Type-Moon decides to make a new Archer costume like they did with Saber Lily, I cannot overlook that of course.
Nanoha's outfit has a huge billowing skirt. Redesign it for a boy, and you'd basically have archer's huge billowing longcoat. Other styles that would look similar; wide bottom Bermudas; or the Hammerpants. SS style riding breeches could also work, but...
It also just occurred to me that Fate-kun will be basically dressing like Hard Gay.
Perhaps for StrikerS then. Still doesn't seem like something a 9 year old would be comfortable wearing.
And no, Fate-kun dresses much better than Hard Gay.
Are you guys saying that Nano-kun should wear a trenchcoat? Because I'm all for that.
I'm saying he should probably get something like that in StrikerS. Thing is the only one who gets a significant costume change is Fate, who gets a kind of trenchcoat-ish looking thing with a white mantle on top of that. Probably because the original outfit is too much for the casual audience to handle.
But again, this is all after the timeskip. The outfits they have as shotas should probably be more... shounen-y? Whereas the third season should showcase them as manly and badass.
Give him something that looks like Black*Star's outfit. But white.
