The Black List!
They actually banned Yot-Chan... wow, seriously?
Really? Well, it's a good question if its temporary or permanent. He was rather rashly railing against the mods for no good reason, though.
And I thought he was rather okay when I read that last post on the FB 7 topic..
Did he seriously enrage them?
I don't think you should be banned just because there was a complaint against the administration. I honestly think they have been over-abusing their powers recently.
So... An uprising?
Well, too bad we cannot do that.
I think Yot was rather alright with his wording of that post, it was mild, alright.
The mods are too touchy.
Yeah, like I said a few months ago, it's that syndrome where mods begin to treat the boards they are moderating as their personal fiefdom. I've seen it happen already elsewhere.
Want to see what happens when you challenge the mods, whatsoever? Look at the poor Claymore forum.... -sigh-
Might have to relocate THIS over to the same alternative site that most of the ex-AS Claymore crowd migrated to, if this sort of crap keeps happening.
Though I read Claymore, I never visited the forums. So what happened? I am curious...
Well... one less forum for them, if we challenge...
Can we sign a petition?
If you guys are game I am too.
I'm curious too. Or is it something that we shouldn't be discussing here either...?
I'd rather not put their attention to this little niche we have, although I have no idea how their moderating powers affect private groups.
OTOH, telling what happened in the Claymore forums should have no negative repercussions, so spill!
I don't know the particulars that led up to it, but from what I was able to piece together, a certain long-time member got into a heated argument with one of the mods. The mod in question banned this popular member, and literally the next day they retired the entire forum. Granted, it's been awhile since the anime aired, but still... there were plenty of discussions going on. Let's just say that the timing was highly suspicious.
I read the retired-thread post as well. I didn't understand why, because the manga is still running and still very popular.
Just in case...
a new possible hangout that's in serious need of attention
Joking aside, MH is where most of the Claymore crowd migrated. Since the emphasis there is Manga vs Anime, that might be why AS took such a cavalier approach. It's not likely that there will be any more anime based on Claymore, whereas Macross is an entirely different story.

Heck, why not? I'm game if you are. Just don't expect any in-depth analysis on my part. That's by no means a guarantee that I
post the occasional TL;DR on the subject matter, by any means.
You have been warned!
One thing I will never understand is this tendency by mods to delete posts by someone who is trying to get an obvious troll to shut up, but then not delete the troll posts themselves. It's as if they are rewarding trolls for being successful.
The mods seem to have a universal "Do NOT feed the trolls" policy, which they take quite seriously. More seriously than dealing with the
problem: the trolls themselves.
[sarcasm]Not all the mods are like this, but unfortunately this attitude seems to be contagious and is spreading like some sort of super virus. It won't be long before everyone gets banned for daring to post anything deemed unworthy.
On another topic, you'd think by now that these BB-code based message boards would have introduced a functional sarcasm tag... imagine all the misunderstandings that could be headed off entirely.
I am under the impression that the mods only started clamping down on this when shippers entered the boards (for the most part). As I understand it, there used to be a large shipping war in the Bleach forums until in '08. They deleted the whole thing. Now, you are not allowed to ship at all in the forums. Now, if they'd done that with MF; it probably would've saved their time. But my personal opinion is if you can't take shipping wars, there is no point to holding a forum for anime that includes shipping.
Yeah, nobody gave a crap during the run of the show and the two years after that. It's just during the last year or so where they have gotten suddenly so touchy.
I still find it funny that it took so many years for them to get fed up. But for some reason, Bleach has always received high maintenance from them. I avoid those threads for that reason, instead focusing it on Bleach Asylum instead.
What gets me is that what was written on our board during the last two years is nothing compared to the stuff which got thrown around during the show.
