Because we love Gundam and it deserves a topic.

That, and we are waiting for a new series.

Put Kawamori and Katoki to design Mechas for Anavel Gato? or Johnny Ridden?

Write a good story, with actually believable and lovable characters?

Make it focused on political and military issues facing people today .. with potentially grim and dark consequences for characters involved without resorting to some "Deus Ex Machina" to make characters survive? Make it so that the outcome is believable and results in shared loss and gradually arriving at a painful mutual understanding?

Thought we had that... its uh, Gundam AGE, of all things. Actually... most Gundam series ended like this. There are very few exceptions, and those exceptions are actually what I enjoy most.

Unless its the UC era. See, I really, really like the UC era...

Did I mention I really like the UC era?

What does it need?:

• Well written story
  
• Characters that are believable and have actual personality
  
• Mecha & character design that is easy for the eyes (no more Tieren-like mechs or AGE "childish" chara design)
  
• Great action (fast and well choreographed)
  
• Moving score and OPs & EDs which are easy for the ears.
  
• Good voice acting (I personally wouldn't worry about this since most VAs in the series has done great so far)

I think that's all from me.

Give the keys to Goro Taniguchi and most importantly let him do what he actually wants. Unlike in Code Geass R2... such bullshit they overlooked Taniguchi twice for Gundam series because they the guy who directed FMA to do a Gundam and then bought into Hino/Level 5's bullshit hoping for Inzamna 11 success with kids.

Pretty sure after R2 Taniguchi doesn't want to fuck with Sunrise anymore anyway....

On another note you guys should be watching Valverave the Liberator next season, it's pretty much a Gundam type series by Sunrise yet funded by Aniplex. (Bandai owns Gundam as you should know).

I think if Sunrise want to be brave and add some originality, they can try animating Gaia Gear. I hate to say it, but the amount of homage paid in subsequent Gundam franchises is beginning to render them into parodies.

That, and a Zeon victory is long overdue.

I don't know if it will improve future Gundam series, but I would like to see less new timelines being created and more continuity developed for existing timelines.

Also, while Unicorn proved successful, and there is a rumor about Origin being developed, I would not like to see Gundam animations turn to adaptations so much.

A compelling story for one thing. And maybe a look back at what made Gundam such a winner, adapt that premise to a new series, and give it to a director and writer with a good track record!
What would be really nice is if they could keep the corporate side out of the equation and let the dreamers and storytellers go wild!
