Some things are so weird it deserves its own thread!
Yeah I shared that on my other pseudo-military forum, and my friends there are still all scratching their heads over it.
Oh.. I get it!!
Scottish Bagpipes playing Panzerlied accompanying by marching Samurai through a 21st century city...
aha! Just what I thought!
Check out China's 48 million illegal

Okay, "Chinese girl in traditional national dress playing the bagpipies" wins. Forever. And that isn't even mentioning the
I go to bed, clearly weirded out. Great job, your Takitude.
Yeah, but what's with the reoccurring Panzerlied song?
Japanese people tend to have a not-so-secret crush for German military motifs...
You have been warned.
Which is one of the more embarassing things about liking anime as a German. Sure, the nazis were snappy dressers in regards to their military, but, hey, fucking concentration camps!
Disclaimer: I do not and will not downplay the tragedy that is the concentration camps.
That being said... it is my personal opinion that the brief 12 years of the Third Reich also provided the world with a series of technological advancements either still being used to this day or inspired other developments. Of course, having

From a political & social point of view, since Japan is vehemently anti-communist and since Japan possesses certain (
specific and celebrated)
cultural similarities with Germany, this trend naturally helped to shape Germany's war against the Soviet Union into a rather popular topic for a number of published works. You don't need an IQ of 180 to guess which side plays the hero...
Ok, THAT IS WIERD!
Given the technological advances the Germans did develop( V2, pre B2 bomber, the first assault rifle) they were and still are way ahead if the curve!
But it was only matched by the savage brutality of the hi-command and Hitlers hatred of the Jews or a "non-pure race".
But let's not get mired in political discussions here, the wierdness of that deserves its own thread! Linda
Yeah, well. I don't know if technological advances justify by any means the horrific loss of life. About the only thing I really see as having come out as definitely positive was that Germany ( and Japan ) were transformed into much less war-prone nations. Something which seems to be reverting itself a bit, although at least in the case of Germany that's the politicians who want us to be present elsewhere again, not the population.
Someone might have pointed out this artist before, but since a new picture was posted, I thought I'd link the gallery again.
I mean, the guy has a picture of the infamous A-1 Skyraider toilet drop.
I saw that pic! Ahahahahahaha!!
Onward comrades! Not one step backwards! Deserters will be shot!!
You have been warned again!
