Fic: Tempus Materia
Tempus Materia Arc 2: Bystander Day 3 posted.
: Do you expect me to answer questions like that regarding a mystery?
The third arc begins the process of answering questions, even though we're not done introducing new ones
. Hopefully it'll be a fun ride. Hope it's fun already.
And, somewhat belatedly, review posted! I'm getting the idea that there were a good six or seven other clues that I missed before now that things were different in this Arc...
(I think it's fun!)
The other Beta finally got me her edits at oh-dark-hundred this morning (she's not really anywhere near my timezone), so I should post either tonight or tomorrow night the finale of the Bystander Arc.
...I've been thinking about posting a preview of the next Arc when I finish it and send it off for Beta in this thread. Does anyone want that?
The idea of seeing more
, sooner, always gets a positive response from me. I'd love to see a next-arc preview!
The finale of the Bystander Arc, Day 4, is posted.
Prisoner Night Before, Day 1, Day 2 full draft.
Day 3 partially drafted.
-> Day 5 planned.
Day 2 took for-e-ver. Literally months. Hopefully I've pushed through the hard part and the rest is easier.
Ugh! I hate those deathly, take-forever-to-hack-through, feels-like-I'm-working-with-a-pickaxe chapters. They slow down the writing, kill my enthusiasm for the story at hand (often to the point that I set the story aside completely and don't pick it up again for months), and even when I manage to get through with a huge sigh of relief it never "feels" quite right...
So...congrats on getting through!
As I understand it, you're intending to complete the draft of the Prisoner arc before you start posting chapters, and then use that time while you post to work on the next arc?
Yes, though it may end up that the posting time is November, and we both know what I'll be writing then
Either way, I am trying to finish arc-at-a-time before sending off to betas, rather than chapter-at-a-time, to allow back-editing.
Update: Complete Prisoner arc is drafted. Betas should receive copies this weekend.
It is an incredibly good week for me in the area of fanfiction: deathcurse finishing
Prerogative of the Brave
ch. 6, Moczo getting
-14 up, new chapter from RadiantBeam, a new chapter of a Castlevania fic I'm following...and now this.
A sneak peek while we await the beta-editing process!
Something in the woods felt wrong this night.
Having washed in the dark many times before, Amy knew where everything was in relation to her as the darkness enveloped her. It was best if she didn't turn on the light until she was dressed once again. However... something was different tonight. Something was in the woods that should not have been. It must be the Beast.
But.. the Beast hadn't been around for over a week! Wasn't it gone? But no... this was the same sinking feeling that she had when the Beast was anywhere nearby. When something was in the woods that should not have been. And there was really only one thing that could be in the woods that would give some sort of alarm to Amy. And that was the Beast.
Maybe tonight it wouldn't kill anyone.
...and a focus on the thoughts of an OC instead of one of the canon-based protagonists (I admit, I was expecting Bartido next...that short snippet, though, really emphasizes the word "Prisoner" in a completely different context than I was viewing it!).
Ah. Sorry to disappoint?
How about I promise that Bartido will get his story told, if not necessarily from his point of view or in this arc?
That was just a comment on my erroneous speculation, not a complaint!
Some announcements. (This fic is not dead!)
has stepped aside as a beta reader, due to various reasons that I will leave to her to explain or not as she wishes. There are no hard feelings. I still think she's swell.
, (my non-Animesuki beta) has gotten me notes on half of the Prisoner chapters. At the pace we're currently setting, I should start posting it in late September.
I have started to outline the next arc (which I will not reveal the name of until Prisoner is fully released). Hopefully the way that Su and I have this set up will make it more like four to five months between releases instead of fourteen to eighteen.
I'm so sorry that my updates have fallen so far behind on this and other fics. Thank you for your patience.
Delays are totally my fault
. I am a terrible beta reader
, and spawn is the swell one for putting up with me!
I thoroughly approve of the non-deadness.
The opening of the Prisoner Arc, Prisoner The Night Before, is posted.
A deep sigh of happiness is heard from my direction!
So, one of the Archmage's followers is involved in this...which makes me wonder if the time-travel effects (whatever they prove to be) in this fic are because that may be the only way to undo Calvaros's dead-and-in-Hell status (since we've seen twice in canon that time travel can even erase the selling of a soul...).
