Okay who do you think is stronger. Everyone is free to state thier opinion and it'd be nice to show some evidence.
In terms of pure power, it's definitely Sesshoumaru.
Throughout the entire series, he's rarely ever had to use any brand new, bigger techniques to fight or take down opponents. Otherwise, he's tended to use many of his same moves in each battle while coming out on top. Even after losing 1 arm (because of underestimating Inuyasha and probably Tetsusaiga as well), he's still able to pretty much own Inuyasha in every fight thereafter were it not for Tetsusaiga. Even when Inuyasha was in his raging demonic state, Sesshoumaru was still able to come out on top in the end. And pretty much every time he ended up fighting Naraku, Sesshoumaru looked like he was barely putting in that much effort at all too. Only Tokijin, an improved Tenseiga (which he had to give up to Inuyasha), and the Bakusaiga were Sesshoumaru's improvements throughout the series. Otherwise, his development was much more about character and personality over brute power, which he had in spades already.
EDIT: Also, during the short times he held Tetsusaiga (like the half-transformed state with the human arm or when he used it to destroy the demon possessing Princess Sara), he managed to manifest its FULL power easily, showing that he also has great control over his power too. Tokijin also easily submitted to his own demonic aura and, based on what was said in Movie 3, he could've probably been able to wield Sounga without being possessed too while Inuyasha could BARELY keep it at bay for very long.
Throughout the series, Inuyasha could only defeat some later, much stronger opponents because of using some new technique through Tetsusaiga; most of which are stolen or borrowed techniques from other demons; red, barrier-shattering Tetsusaiga, diamond-blade Tetsusaiga, Dragon-scaled Tetsusaiga, and Meido Zangetsuha. The only techniques Tetsusaiga inheriting itself being Kaze ni Kizu/Wind Scar and the Bakuryuha/Backlash Wave. Or, in much rarer instances, his demonic blood taking over like against Goshinki, but even that isn't always enough given he loses his mind in the process, so any opponent who can think, like Naraku or Sesshoumaru, could easily overcome him. Take away Tetsusaiga and, against any bigger opponent the group came upon later in the series, Inuyasha would've been toast most likely. Only lower-class, earlier demons like Lady Centipede, Yura of the Hair, and whatnot could Inuyasha really defeat with his bare hands.
I feel really sad saying this but the strongest I believe Is lord Sesshoumaru. He can fight with no armor and Inuyasha has his tetsiga to help him out in battle. Although they don't really proove who's strongest in the show you can tell by their actions.
I agree with you animesushi1239
Inuyasha goes getting stronger in terms of power through Tetsusaiga (and a bit inwardly) while Sesshoumaru goes getting stronger inwardly, by developing his character and his regards to humans and others he deems "below him" through his interactions with Rin and others.
Again you make perfect sense and I agree with you
but also if inuyasha were stronger it wouldn't be exciting to be in suspense whether he lives or dies, (although we all already know the answer).
I guess it's to put more emphasis on being a hanyou compared to a full-blooded demon in that, in terms of "natural" power, he'll always be weaker to someone like Sesshoumaru, but he has the advantage, most of the time, in his human heart having something to protect (friends and all), thus allowing him to "draw out" further power in situations that'd seem hopeless. Something that Sesshoumaru, initially, didn't understand until his time with Rin and his learning and accepting such things bit by bit is what allowed him to unlock the Meido Zangetsuha in Tenseiga and soon fully emerging through Bakusaiga.
it depends on what you mean by stronger. Battle strength wise unfortunantly I believe Lord Sesshoumaru is stronger even though they both have grown throughout the series. I think InuYasha is stronger as a person(Demon? lol) because the way he uses his feelings for Kagome to better protect her and the group. BUT I also don't think it's entirely fair to compare the two, they are both strong in thier own way. Sesshy is a full demon though...
Thier both strong in their own ways shessy in battle strength but he is weak when it comes to social skills and showing his feelings, inuyasha as many have already stated gets most if his power from tetsiga, but he shows his feelings like getting mad (shessy does to but his is more off scaring the person/people that made him mad) he crys twice, and to me he doesn't seen as arrogant a shessy
