To anyone that has seen both the subbed and dubbed versions of Shana, what are your opinions? On the voice actors? On the translations? Feel free to voice your opinion. I would like to hear someone else's take on this.

Well, I have a word to say about Shana's English Dub voice actor. The urusai wasn't as good as in the original :< And Wilhelmina's voice in English dub is higher than Shana's. Yeah...

I absolutely hated the english voice actors. Shana sounded like a 50 year old house wife, and yuji sounded like someone I would beat up at the playground as a kid. Also, the japanese just didn't translate well. Shut up, shut up, shut up? Sorry, just didn't work.

I only watch Shana in Japanese and I'm really stubborn about that.

yahh i found them to have a major difference yet, the english version i found yuji sounded 20ish and shana sounded like a 16 year old but when she said her shut up shut up shut up THEN she sounded 3...so ill go back and forth

You think so? Well overall, I just feel like geneon half assed it and got a bunch of random people off the street. Just like viz half assed the translation for the novels...bastards.

well, no anime is better when they are dubbed by non-japanese people (especially english dubbed)

I didn't really like the dub. Shana's voice just didn't fit her in my opinion. Alastor's voice was okay though. But I guess I'm kind of biased, since I just love their Japanese voices.

The only decent dubs I've seen are Dragonball Z and Fullmetal Alchemist.
