Alright, here we go! Preview is up on
Random Curiousity.
Boogiepop wa Warawanai: Urban fantasy is always nice. Arguably, "Boogiepop" is not as heroic a name as "Harry Dresden", at least from a western standpoint.
Gets three episodes to convince me to stay.
Egao no Daika: Wait, is this mecha and space opera? I dearly hope so. Probably a certain pick-up, although of course it could well be a total disaster. I hope the characters can carry the series, since a 12 year old girl protagonist is not exactly the standard...
Dororo: Well, crikey, here's a dark premise. I guess I'll check it out for one or two episodes, but if it's too grimdark, I'm gone.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari: Yay, another isekai.
Yet, it's a group of people being transported, so it's not the typical typical male fantasy. I guess I'll check it out for one to two episodes. Man, has that genre ever devolved when even I, a fantasy nerd, can't get too excited about it.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari: Waaaaait a second, a girl is sent back to Japans past and is stuck with a horde of hot guys lusting over her. Is that Sengoku Night Blood? Oh, it's the
Meiji era, the other go-to historic era for anime. Anyway, it was just a curiousity I thought funny to mention, I am certainly not watching this.
Revisions: Well, it's mecha. I guess I'll check it out. Doesn't sound too fantastic, though. If it's a Power Rangers rip-off, I'm gone.
Girly Air Force: <sigh> Might as well check it out. One episode. Maybe the aerial fighting will be good and make up for the harem shit.
Grimms Notes: The Animation: Oh, hey, an amalgam of all Brother Grimm's tales. Well, it's essentially an urban fantasy trope in a fantasy world. So, what the hey. Two episodes.
Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka: Interesting premise, but after Madoka I'm somewhat more careful with magical girl deconstructions. One episode to convince me to stay.
So, overall, some decent premises and quite a few iffy ones. I hope I get at least two series out of this to watch, aside To Aru and SOA.
What are your picks, guys?
