Hori may seem like a normal teenage girl, but she's a completely different person after school. In her workaholic parents' absence, Hori has been like a parent for her little brother since she was young herself. Between taking care of her brother, feeding them both, and housework, she doesn't have much time for a usual teenage social life. One day, she meets someone else who does not present his true self at school: a quiet, glasses-wearing boy called Miyamura. She'd assumed he was bookish, and possibly an otaku, but Hori couldn't have been more wrong. Outside of school, Miyamura is a friendly guy with many piercings, and he's not very good at academics. Now the two of them have someone with whom they can share both halves of their lives!

A boy named Tōru Kokonoe decides that after losing someone precious in a terrifying incident, he wants to become stronger and enrolls in a special school where people manifest their souls as weapons called Blaze. Tōru is capable of producing his own Blaze, but for some reason it manifests as a shield instead of a weapon.

As a person who is interested in Japanese History, this series is a must watch. it has been set in the most important period of Japan Sengoku Period and probably the most realistically depicted anime to be aired. As the nature of the series, it takes its time in building up the plot as detailed as possible but takes the liberty of characterising the real life historical figures with the different interpretation. Watching this just once is not enough to understand its nuance and motivations of the characters. This anime features interesting set of characters to viewing it twice essential. Such characteristics of this series made difficult viewing for general viewing audience, as a result, it concluded the series very quietly with very little audiences. We will probably never see the official release of DVD's due to the cult status of the series but I wish to see this series appreciated by the newer people.

In 2012, the world allegedly comes to an end at the hands of a human-made virus, ravaging the global populace and leaving only children untouched. It is at this time that vampires emerge from the recesses of the earth, likely followed by age-old horrors of the dark thought only to be myth. The vampires sweep the earth and claim it in a single violent stroke, subjugating the remnants of humanity and leading them beneath the surface to safety. This "protection" comes at the price of donating blood to their captors.
