Let me be more specific, I disagree that it didn't paying of in Nise-

Generally though, as you wrote the dialogue seems, but isn't meaningless... that's not correct. Whether it pays off or not in the end, both the dialogue and ecchi scenes are relevant to the plot, therefore after Bake- we know beforehand that it isn't meaningless, and thus should seem as such.

I was just arguing with your post by pointing out how important first impressions are, etc etc. It wasn't really anything, which is why I deleted it.

I'm curious, do mind telling me what was your deleted post in the Kaminomi thread?

Naw, it's fine. Actually, I was wondering if I was being too serious about it.

Mate, I hope you do not mind my tone in the Bakemonogatari vs. Clannad sub-thread.

At that point I started thinking in terms of slimes and spikes rather than the characters themselves, which would've probably led me to make meaningless statements. I was kinda hoping someone would bite on the thread and I could develop it further later, but no one did, so... *shrug*

"Hanekawa mentioned that both Araragi and Senjougahara had put up walls around themselves socially, but if Senjougahara's defense is spiked wall (with turrets), then Araragi's defense is more like an RPG slime or something. He just oozes out of the way, so attacks go through him without causing damage. Nothing affects him, and therefore he affects no one. He has no stake in himself, so it's hard for others to have a stake in him...I'm gonna stop now before my metaphor starts to implode."

Why stop? You were actually on to something there.
