It isn't. It is related in the economic sense but not the medieval or wolf-girl sense. I don't think the author could have done that context twice.

Thought this might be relevant to your interests.

The person behind Spice and Wolf had managed to get a game related to it - World End Economica - to be on the Greenlight section of Steam. If enough people support it, the game will be made available on Steam in 3 installments.

    Proof

Tell anyone you think would want to know to help make this happen.

Yeah, I think the way to win was to conquer a certain % based on difficulty or starting year, then hold Kyoto for a set period of time. Though, with that % always being over 50% regardless and thus everyone else being against you, that's pretty analogous to having to kill everyone else anyway. I don't believe there was any sort of diplomatic victory at all. Even your vassals' territory didn't count as your own.

Yeah, I always hated that system. I understand they may have needed to do it from a difficulty perspective but it totally undermines the diplomacy and vassal systems (seriously, why would you ever make anyone a vassal instead of just wiping them out when they are 100% guaranteed to turn on you later) and makes no sense from a flavor perspective. Especially in this game where "honor" is supposed to be a major factor. Turns everyone who yells at you about honor and then inevitably stabs you in the back into a massive hypocrite.

When you reach 50% of the required territories, everyone immediately declares war on you or has their opinion of you drop steadily every turn until they also declare war on you, including allies and vassals. That was the term they used to refer to it back when I was playing 2 years ago.

I have Shogun 2 as well, though unfortunately it just isn't my style of game (I am also the only one of my friends who does not own Civ 5). Did they ever release any sort of patch that allows you to turn the Realm Divide off? That feature always struck me as a huge negative for that game and rendered diplomacy much less useful than it could have been.

It really isn't all that much like FF Tactics. There is little story to speak of and the few story battles that exist are interspersed with dozens if not hundreds of hours of grinding battles against the same couple palette-swapped enemies, that are fought exactly the same way every time. That and the item creation, which I will let this speak for, as it does so better than me: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/kusoge/kusoge01.htm (skip to near the bottom).

Oh man, I just noticed on Steam that you bought Agarest: Generations of War. I sincerely hope you don't end up regretting that decision. I've played its prequel and it is the actual worst game I have ever played.
