Okay, as mentioned a few days ago, here's an update.
- I may have finally determined the core problems that were making my computer almost keel over. The monitor was a simple fix. The video card was utterly outdated and had to be replaced. Having a 2nd friend come take a look and do some different kinds of tests revealed something surprising. The power supply - the 2nd one I'd bought in the existence of this computer - seemed to have been failing, so that's been replaced. But that didn't fix everything. Turns out the other core problem was not the motherboard, but the RAM. Sticks my friends gave me gave up the ghost rather quickly. I switched back to the RAM sticks I'd had on the original setup since 2009 and things worked again. Unbelievable. So I had to sink a lot of money to get it working again. Half of the computer is now brand new parts. Sometime next year, hopefully I can afford to replace the rest. While things are working again, the memory is being pushed to the limit.
Political turmoil - well, the Liberals are being their usual selves. And the parliament is blocking a lot of what they want to do. Interesting times ahead.
Weather is finally improving. My legs don't feel like hell anymore. Going to get back to the gym and start getting in shape.
Have not been watching much anime lately. Will catch up once episodes of the titles I'm with are all out. I'd rather marathon them.
NFL season is under way. Great season opener between Denver and Carolina. Massive day of games tomorrow. Psyched to see how things unfold. New England vs Arizona is going to be a sweet prime-time game.
Games-wise, yeah, that's where more of my time has been post-AVCon. Played Overwatch a lot in July. August, once I had that new video card I finally got to play Wolfenstein: New Order after years of waiting to be able to. Also tried out the expansion to Renowned Explorers and was very impressed. Amazing story-telling options got mixed into making gameplay more involving and strategic. And as August came to a close, World of Warcraft: Legion went live. Yep, that's been my focus lately. Blizzard might actually have made the best expansion of this title ever. Time will tell as to whether it beats Wrath of the Lich King, but this is easily top 2.
WWE - things have gradually gotten better. WM32 was a joke. But after that, the right people were getting pushed and some great events happened. AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens have really helped things improve. Unfortunately, Summerslam was a fizzle overall despite AJ Styles and John Cena having an epic that earned the rare praise of Dean Meltzer and the fan universe in general. Hoping Backlash tomorrow gets back on the right track.
AFL, Adelaide won an elimination final last night. They survive for another week and have to go to Sydney next weekend. I despise Sydney more than any other team because of how they exploited living expenses in their recruiting (which they eventually got fined for, but not before making a long-term powerhouse). So here's hoping Adelaide can make the prelim final. Been a good season but I'd like them to go one week further than they did last year.
Seinarukana was awesome in the time I played all routes on Normal and was doing one on Hard before focus changed. Steam version comes out in October. Flowers got a Steam release a few weeks ago but I'm waiting for my limited edition copy to arrive, which will be soon. This looks like the pinnacle of yuri from what I've seen. I think you, Kotohono and Tempester would really enjoy this. It's only around 20 dollars on Steam. LE is pricier of course but has some very desirable merch. I think the three of you would appreciate Seinarukana too, but it can be a challenging RPG at times. Although I'd gladly give advice where needed. Flowers seems to be more of a mystery/detective one with some very dreamy yuri context.
BTW, heard Trudeau was put in a comic. Sounds like you have an awesome leader in Canada for that to happen. I think the only thing people here would do with that of our leaders would be to wipe their rear ends, heh.
Peace. Hope you're well.
